I picked up some sushi from Mizu, pricing isnt that bad. 8.50 special for 4 rolls and 4 nigiri. Quality of the food wasn’t so good. The slices of nigiri were thin and the rice ball was massive. Spicy salmon roll had no spice to it. it was basically chopped salmon and a bunch of spicy salmon roll veggies. Service is great, nice people quick service and not a long walk from many of the businesses downtown. My reference for sushi has been Mio(even the one in bend) and sushi town in Tanasbourne. This place was OK, but not somewhere ill probably go again.

Went with the daily special«A’ today, there was another one but wasn’t interested. The daily special I had included 4 pieces of spicy tuna roll, 4 pieces of crunchy California roll, and 2 nigiri(mackerel and salmon). The fish is fresh and the rolls were delicious. I’m not a big California roll fan because it’s pretty boring, but the crunchy fried onions they put on top made it good. The nigiri are big pieces and fresh. The only reason why I didn’t give it a 5 star is because the rice was a little soft for me. There are 5 tables outside with a single seat– loved it because I had my own table and privacy. My order came out quickly and had friendly service. Will definitely be back and ordering the nigiri since most of them are $ 3.50 for two pieces. That’s a steal. I love having sushi for lunch because it’s not greasy.

Thought I would give this place one more chance. I called in my order and was told 15 minutes and my order would be ready. I got there about 15 minutes later and was told they didn’t start my order yet then she said oh no I gave it to someone else. This place has the worst service and the sushi is a hit and miss. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning.

I just finished the daily special with spicy tuna roll, salmon maki, and two pieces of nagiri for $ 8.50. First of all, something like this would cost $ 15.00 in NYC, so this is a damn good deal. Second, I’ve had plenty of sushi in my day, and while I’m no connoisseur, I know bad sushi when I taste it. This is not bad sushi. The rice is not stale or too mushy. The fish is fresh. And most of all, the service is charming and warm. The lady behind the counter made my order immediately(though it was 2:00 and the shop was empty), and she was so nice. I work a couple blocks away, and I’ll definitely be back for more.

I thought I would give this a try as it was quick and had good reviews here. Fish quality was poor and tasted too fishy for sushi. Service was great, but the food quality was poor and just not worth the great price. Then again, inexpensive sushi is usually not very good. Mizu is in this category. IICCCCCKKKKKK Don’t do it!!!

I had the Spicy Salmon 4-piece with 2-piece Salmon Nigiri. The Sushi rice was warm and fresh but a little bland. My nigiri had wasabi under the slice of fish, which is very traditional for sushi. But still not common practice in most sushi places i frequent. The spicy salmon roll was nice and spicy but the flavor seemed lacking. Overall it was great for a cheap quick bite of sushi. The quality of the fish seemed nice but the taste wasn’t what I was expecting. The staff were very friendly and I will definitely return to give some other menu items a try.

I definitely have to write an update — a craving for sushi struck the last few days and I’ve stopped in a couple times. I wanted to give an extra star and kudos for the last couple of experiences I’ve had. The service is always great, all of the ladies working there are super sweet and welcoming. The wait time has also picked up the pace quite a bit. 10 minutes at the most and I’m out. I appreciate that, because I’ve had some pretty considerable waits. Also, the fish has been really fresh and delicious. That’s a huge one. Consistency has really improved and I’m happy to give them my business on a more regular basis.

Decent. The sushi isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. I may go there again just because it’s convenient and it’s reasonably priced. The rice is very mushy and freshness of the fish is just mediocre. I think this little shop is run by a mother and daughter who both are really nice.

Owner’s are super friendly and make some of the best looking and tasting sushi in town. Definitely this place is a go-to spot if you’re looking for sushi to eat while you work through lunch. We ordered the chirashi, Mizu roll, shrimp tempura roll, and avocado veggie roll. I’m really particular about the sushi rice and Mizu’s sushi rice was the right temperature(room temp) and just the right combination of subtle sweetness with a touch of vinegar. Pretty much perfect sushi rice. Everything we ordered was fantastic. I had the chirashi bowl all to myself. If you don’t know what chirashi is: sashimi over sushi rice in a bowl with topiko, furikake and shaved bonito to season. The sashimi slices were very generous and fresh(I got hamachi or yellow tail, maguro or tuna, and red snapper). Pretty much perfect chirashi. Prices are reasonable. The menu covers the basics and has a few extras that are worthwhile.

The sushi here is better than most trains, but is worse than most restaurants. The nigiri is usually packed with too much rice, and the fish itself has an average thickness with mediocre quality. This is definitely a ‘to go’ type of place since the seating area is non existent. Calling ahead for your order is recommended.

I’ve given this place 3 shots. That in itself is telling, since 1) I LOVE sushi and 2) This place is literally in my building. I just have to go downstairs, and I’m there. So, if I love sushi and there’s a sushi place so conveniently located practically in my home, why have I only come here 3 times? It just isn’t that good! It really breaks my heart to say that, because I truly want to like — no, LOVE — this adorable tiny sushi joint. It looks promising; the logo design, the website design, the minimal décor in this teeny shop, the two tiny patio tables right outside the door, the very sweet lady behind the counter, the daily specials. Every time I try this place I tell myself this will be the day I LOVE it, but it never happens. I always walk away thinking, huh, that was mediocre. Actually, today, I ordered one of the daily special options, which(as far as I’ve noticed) always includes 4 pc California roll(imitation crab, of course). I normally stay away from California rolls because they’re boring and I’d rather eat real crab anyway. But, today I just wanted a little bit of a few things. Well, I’m disappointed to say that the California Roll was actually my favorite of the selection(there was also a Spicy Tuna roll and 1 pc each tuna and snapper nigiri). Spicy tuna was just generic sriracha-flavored mush, and the 2 pieces of nigiri weren’t BAD — just soooo underwhelming. The rice didn’t taste fresh, but sorta stale. Verdict: after 3 tries and being unimpressed every time, I guess I’d still totally stop in here just for a California Roll when it’s really convenient and I don’t want to leave my house. This place just charms me! Otherwise this would easily be a 2 star review. Since most people reading this review don’t live where I live, I don’t really see a compelling reason to tell you guys to eat here. Sorry!

I love this little place!!! the menu is not huge however the woman has no problem doing substitutions and will do half orders. I got half an order of one and half an order of another. The fish was high quality and was simply some of the best fast sushi I have ever had. The place only has a few seats and so I take my order to go. I could not be more pleased as I ate it

This is the closest sushi place to my office.(Relocated in Sept. ’13). This is a tiny spot, but the service is great. Its run by a mother/daughter team and you can tell in one visit that their hardworking and care about their business/customers. Their is not a large selection on the menu, but I’ve been VERY impressed with the quality and freshness of the fish. They also are very happy to do a substitution or change without hassle or a charge(this guy hates Salmon). For the Vegetarians out there, one look at the menu shows a much larger selection of options for you than I’ve ever seen at much large sushi places. There are only a few seats inside, so it really caters to the grab and go crowd in the area. However, I’ve never had a problem taking a seat and eating my meal in peace instead of at my desk.

My sister-in-law and I went to this place for lunch yesterday on 11÷18÷13 around 1300 hours and we had the special number(A). Later that day around 6:30PM I got a mean case of food poisoning and was throwing up. I spoke with my sister-in-law today and she also was throwing up. I’m not sure if I will ever go back to this place again. I just wanted to warn the rest of you that eat here on 11/18/2013 and you got sick, that’s probably why. :-(

Located in a difficult to find section of a non-descript office building, Mizu Sushi is a tiny restaurant with around four seats, operated by two ladies. The sushi is nothing special, but for a cheap place to grab lunch and bring it back to the office, Mizu Sushi offers quite fresh sushi at quite a reasonable price. I came here seeking to finally complete my Sushi Sensei badge, and tried a couple rolls. The Mizu Sushi Roll has a bit of yellow tail and salmon, as well as asparagus(which was intriguing), while the spicy salmon roll was on-point, albeit with a bit too much cucumber for my liking. In all, the sushi was really down the middle average, but the price is quite reasonable, and if you like the intimate atmosphere that a tiny restaurant brings, then by all means, I would check this place out. Lastly, this is very much a lunch location. I came around 6:30, and the lady there was already packing up, and very ready to go home.

If you want quality, simple sushi that won’t break the bank, I highly recommend Mizu. There’s nothing fancy about their rolls, but the sweet owner/chef gives great portions at very reasonable prices for how fresh the fish tastes. I love getting seaweed salad(they serve up the standard style, which I like) and a spicy roll and some salmon nigiri. My guy and I are easily stuffed for $ 30, which for fresh sushi is a steal. I have yet to find a sushi go-round that I can stomach, so Mizu is my affordable alternative when the occasion doesn’t call for all-out Murata down the street.

This is a pretty good spot. Its not much of a place to sit down and eat anything but great to grab some good sushi on the go. While I usually enjoy sitting down for my sushi meals this place is extremely convenient(being right across the street from my work) and quick to boot. The fish is always delicious and fresh and I have never had any complaints(except for the fact that they take credit cards using an iphone device and they have to swipe it several times to get it to work. This always gives me a heart attack though and doesn’t say a thing about the quality of food which is fantastic.)

It was my first time to Mizu and it was truly underwhelming. I’ve experienced great sushi before so my standards are really high. However, I enjoy the round-about sushi places as much as the next person. Quick, easy sushi is a-ok with me. That being said, I had a spicy tuna roll at Mizu and I won’t order it again. It wasn’t bad. It didn’t smell or taste funky. It was just… well…super underwhelming. The fish was bland. Everything was bland. The flavors weren’t well balanced. I might go there again if I’m pressed for time, but I’d rather go somewhere else if I have the time for it.

Didn’t have much time for lunch since I was swamped with deadlines for the day, so I rushed to this nearby sushi joint. On first glance, place looked sketchy and unappealing. It’s a teeny tiny sushi joint with tacky interior decorations. I ordered their daily special — 4 spicy tuna rolls, 4 california rolls, and 4 potstickers(potstickers with sushi?!) — and it turned out decent. It’s not hard to mess up california or spicy tuna rolls since they’re generic. Gave this place 3 stars cause the owner’s really friendly, and the packaging is efficient for busy work people like myself. Grab and go’s the mentality. Overall, Mizu’s an average eat… I’d probably go again!
