We used to love this place for lunch because we could forget about how dirty it is in favor of the Chicken Teriyaki being good. As of the date of this review, it’s gone downhill since we used to start going here a few years ago, and they literally haven’t cleaned anything. Mold from leaky roof into the ceilings, leaving garbage around and don’t even think about going to the bathroom if you want to lose your lunch. Sorry guys, this place is a tear down.

Don’t get me wrong… I’m down for a debauchery filled evening with jello shots. I just don’t want them at lunch when they taste like some sort of pseudo-chicken & mackerel mixture sitting next to microwaved vegetables, spritzed with oil, and an ocean of rice. I enjoyed this place in the past, it was great… now it’s just filled with disappointment and regret. Oh yeah, and black mold on the ceiling. Don’t look up.

Good food at a good price from friendly people. Place is unpretentious. The katsu is the best, but the house fried rice’s shrimp could be improved.

No. Just no. I got chicken yakisoba and I did not get chicken yakisoba. The noodles were not pan fried and tasted like pad thai, way over cooked and kinda soggy. I had 2 pieces of chicken. 2. And the vegetables were minimal and very gross. Either very very over cooked so they were slimy or not cooked enough to were they were crunchy. I gave 2 stars because their portions were very large for the price. But there were some thing in my meal that I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be in there. but they were very understaffed so ill give them the benefit of the doubt. But do not plan on going back when we have some very exceptional places around here

I’d love to tell you how the food was, but after about 15 – 20 minutes of waiting for any service whatsoever, I gave up. The place is badly cleaned, so I probably saved myself a rough evening in the bathroom. I went to a teriyaki joint on Powell instead, which was fine.

This restaurant is a complete dump. Extremely dirty all-around, and it was hard to enjoy my food because I kept imagining how many rats and cockroaches this place must have scurrying through its walls. I ate here during the winter and there were flies and other sorts of bugs flying around. Seriously, how does that even happen? Almost all of the kitchen is blocked off, so one can only assume the kitchen is dirtier than the eating area. When you’re eating at a place and wondering, «Did a rat drag its testicles across my food when it was back there?», that’s probably not a good sign. The food itself was fine for the most part. The chicken teriyaki and rice were good, but the beef had a weird taste to it. I don’t know if it had gone bad or if it was just very low-quality meat, but stay away from it. Overall, Milwaukie Teriyaki seems like a decent choice if you’re getting quick take-out, but I don’t foresee anyone ever wanting to eat in the actual restaurant.

Milwaukie Teriyaki is great. I give it 4 stars for what it is. Don’t expect anything fancy or local or organic. It is exactly what I would expect based on the appearance of the building and the sign(definitely was a Wienerschnitzel in a past life). Since it is called Milwaukie Teriyaki, I stick to the chicken teriyaki. The vegetables are fresh and cooked just right. Their teriyaki sauce is tasty. I like to put extra on my rice. The rice is also cooked well. Often, places like this have rice that is overcooked and mushy. The chicken tastes like it is grilled and is not overcooked. Go here for a relatively inexpensive, warm, fresh-tasting meal.

Terrible. I’ve eaten here a few times, as I love teriyaki and it is walking distance from my house, but there is nothing good to say about this place. The service is execrable, the food is subpar, the restaurant itself is filthy, and I’m pretty sure that the one guy who actually does any work in there at all is not getting tips. There is a good reason at you will never see anyone in there– they all know better.

The service was deplorable. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to eat where the staff discriminates against body types, getting a good laugh out of it. Never again.

Terrible food. The noodles tasted like they had turned and the broccoli was definitely a day away from being literally rotten. The lady waiting on us was an utter beee-yatch. Did I mention it’s overpriced for being cash-n-carry quality? We were hoping for so much more, considering we live 2 blocks away. You’re better off buying a packet of Ramen noodles up the street at Bob’s Handy Mart.

My friend and I were going to see Graham Nash at The Aladdin Theater and this was the only place open nearby on a Sunday night. Based on appearance, I wasn’t expecting much. We both were pleasantly surprised when the food came. It was fresh, hot, and yummy. This place is mostly an inexpensive dive, but it was good. For that, it gets 4-stars. Be warned, they don’t serve beer.

This place is killing! The food is great and you get a lot of it for a good price. I was surprised that the tofu was fried. Most teriyaki places don’t fry it. It was great! Highly recommended. The lady who worked there was super nice!

Really nice owners. It was a very stormy night when my son and I stopped in. The portions were huge but the food was sort of bland. I had to doctor up the tofu a ton so that it had any flavor at all. My son had the teriyaki shrimp and loved it. Course, he’s seven and pretty easy to please. It served its purpose. And sometimes that’s all ya need.

This place is better than it looks from the outside. It serves a purpose… Quick, inexpensive food on the way home at night when you are hungry and don’t feel like putting a lot of effort into going somewhere a little further from your house. That’s all. The phở… Not so much. The spicy basil fried rice is the best thing I’ve had there. If they say 5 minutes on takeout wait ten to go over there.

Anybody looking at this building and expecting quality is, pardon my bluntness, stupid. This is medium quality pie-hole filling for people on the go. The portions are so big I never finish, there are no free refills on coke products, and the staff is generally somewhere between surly and ambivalent. It’s just what I want when I need to eat something fast at my desk. Want quality noodles? Stop someplace that doesn’t look like a repurposed Waffle House, Einstein.

SKIPTHISPLACE! DON’T EVENLOOKATIT! DON’T EVENTHINKABOUTIT! If you’re craving for some good teriyaki just keep searching because you’re not going to find it here. I wasn’t sure about it in the first place & should’ve known better by the 3.5 star average review that it wasn’t going to be the best meal I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the chicken teriyaki & also the hot & spicy chicken. While waiting for our to-go orders, we noticed the lady behind the counter was wearing a latex glove on one hand. Why? She was holding her arm up in a way a surgeon would after scrubbing for surgery. She then served a customer his meal. If it were me, I would’ve passed on the meal. The kitchen fixed our meals so the only touching she did was placing the containers in a sack. Speaking of the kitchen, the only place one could see it was through a rectangular cut out large enough for plates & to-go containers to fit through. Makes me wonder! The chicken teriyaki was lightly marinated & I mean lightly marinated. I didn’t think it was any good until I tried the hot & spicy chicken. When we ordered the dish, the latex gloved woman informed us the veggies pictured wouldn’t be in the dish but rather just bamboo shoots & peppers. Okay, that’s fine. I opened up my container & it was an explosion of bamboo shoots! We thought it was noodles at first because there were so many slices of bamboo! The bamboos were spicy but the chicken had absolutely no taste to it. So sad. The chicken teriyaki didn’t seem so bad after trying the hot & spicy chicken but that doesn’t mean I’m coming back for more. If you want good teriyaki & are willing to drive a ways, check out Soy Grill in Clackamas. Good teriyaki with lots of flavor!
