Milo’s City Cafe

My boyfriend and I come here all the time. It’s one of our favorites. Great service, delicious food, awesome atmosphere and it’s so affordable! 5 stars, easy!

I had tried the Crab Cake Benedict, which was very tasty that I ordered a second one.

This place is so amazing! The food & the service are outstanding… I don’t think they ever have an off day. The staff knows exactly what they are doing. This place is a must

Brunch at Milo’s was an experience! The Benedict was great and the grapefruit mimosas were excellent but the what made it a perfect five star experience was the staff. I highly recommend sitting at the counter if there is space. The chef’s and wait staff will make you feel welcome, make you laugh, and are diligent about catering to your every need and want. I will definitely be going back soon!

Great coffee and excellent breakfast. Fast, friendly service and clean, looking establishment. Homeade blueberry compote on our toast made my heart sing! And thanks for using chunk feta… doesn’t seem like much I know but goodness, that was good with those eggs. Great place. We’ll be back!

I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years and they still have the best eggs Benedict’s in my opinion. My favorite is the black stone Benedict. The staff are very friendly and funny. I highly recommend this place for its good food and friendly atmosphere.

Service was excellent!!! Ask to sit in «TOPHERS» section he gives outstanding service. I would recommend the waffles thin and very crispy.

Stopped here for breakfast when we were staying at the DoubleTree. The corned beef hash was awesome, but the house-​made raspberry jam stole the show. They had a nice selection of diner food, but more importantly, the service was outstanding.
We got the kind of friendly, attentive service that is so rare today. Big thanks to our server Michael who was amazing.

Came to Milo’s for dinner and didn’t realize they are participating in the Portland Dining month! We had an amazing dinner with appetizers we wouldn’t have normally ordered at an exceptional price.
The food was amazing and fresh. Fried oysters were perfect. Light batter, not greasy, and tender.
Saganaki was savory and good. The lemon juice brings down the saltiness of the cheese and keeps in fresh. Loved it.
I ordered the special which was a fresh ahi steak. Plenty of food for sure.

A group of us recently spent a long weekend in Portland visiting another one of our friends, and she brought us here for breakfast prior to our return flights. Milo’s is a pretty modest spot that is serving up some really delicious breakfast.
I was having trouble deciding between a sweet or savory breakfast, so in the end I went with the Monte Cristo. Their version consists of three layers of French toast, ham, turkey, and swiss cheese. The sandwich is served quartered, dusted with powdered sugar, and accompanied by syrup and fresh homemade jam. It was so delicious, and now I’m going to be on a quest to find a comparable version here in Pittsburgh!
Our server was friendly and attentive, there are plenty of options on the menu, and the prices are great.

Three friends and I had brunch at Milos today and found the food very tasty. I had the traditional eggs Benedict and my friends each had eggs as well. As our server Christopher approached the table, one of our party was telling a story and was right at the punch line. I held up one finger asking him to wait just an instant for her to finish. Instead he turned away and walked off. We waited some little time and he would not return even though he was standing at the counter talking with another server. After a long time we had to request that he come back. The atmosphere was VERY loud, so loud we had difficulty conversing. So our food was good, the noise was loud and our server was incredibly rude – should we try again? Maybe not.

Got up this morning and drove around three different districts, exploring the breakfast restaurant crowds. Once again I end up back in my neighborhood at Milo’s.
Sitting here now waiting on my delicious eggs over medium, with pepper bacon, and sourdough. Always a winner no matter what you eat here.
The reason why I am once again hungrily anticipating my meal. Can’t wait…

Good ambience and good food. Waiter was awesome and gave the impression he was capable and happy to be there.
I look forward to future trips to try other menu items.

This review is for brunch only. This place had such good reviews and I was so excited to try it. However, I really think the food was mediocre.
We had 4 people and they wouldn’t seat us until the whole party was there. Just an FYI. Not my favorite policy since the rest of us were ordering drinks and the 1 person was about 5 minutes behind. But this is not uncommon, so that’s fine.
The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced. Definitely felt we got our money’s worth on that.
The food was not very good. Anyone who reads my reviews knows I get eggs benedict at every new place. This was no exception. The hollandaise was definitely in the mid-​range of Portland. Didn’t stand out but wasn’t so terrible I had to scrape it off. Most of my companions enjoyed their food but one person who had some of of french toast thing really didn’t like it.
Overall, I’d probably not go out of my way to come back here.

Let’s start with what I liked:
–The peach mimosa was good and i loved the little animal charms
Now for what I didn’t like:
— The food was just ok. I had the french toast and my bf has the sausage and cheese stuffed french toast. He liked his well enough, mine was boring and i’m pretty easy to please!
— The service was beyond slow. We were forgotten about and had to wait about 25 minutes before getting our food order taken. No apologies from our waitress with the funky green eye shadow.
— The coffee is total swill. This is a matter of personal preference, but if your coffee choice is limited to black coffee only, please make sure it’s at least decent…
— It’s expensive for what you get. $ 1.45 PER EGG? What?
Needless to say, I wasn’t given many reasons to want to return.

A great neighborhood restaurant. I come here whenever I visit my dad in Portland. It’s a very popular place and always good for breakfast. Very good coffee and my favorite breakfast items are the oatmeal, Eggs Benedict. Really, everything is yummy and a great way to start anyone’s day. So if you are in the area, stop by for some good eats!

Best eggs I have ever had in my life.
Sunday morning at 11:00 on a holiday weekend and we were seated instantly at a booth. The crêpe Suzette special featured the unparalleled Oregon berries. Tender crepes, folded and covered in a delicious caramel sauce with a hint of orange. The scrambled eggs were so fresh, light, and fluffy. I could have eaten an entire bowl of them. The potatoes were also exactly the way I like them. Cooked perfectly but not overly greasy.
The hubby loved his eggs black stone. Service was top notch. We were in and out in under a half hour & multiple people checked in on us.
Can I give them 6 stars please?

Solid option for diner food, diverse menu. I enjoyed my salmon benny and coffee, but it wasn’t mind blowing or anything.
Service here is very quick, and they were very nice about seating our 10-​person party. Also very gracious about splitting the check. Clearly a well-​loved neighborhood establishment, the atmosphere was pleasantly active.

I’m not from Portland, so when I saw Milo’s had a 4-​star rating and was near my hotel, I made a trek over to visit. Sadly, it doesn’t live up to my expectations for a 4-​star breakfast establishment.
It’s relatively big inside, but there isn’t really any décor. So it’s just a big barren room you don’t feel homey in. The food is full on «meh». The vegetarian omelet (a staple that determines how well a restaurant can make food) lacked basic seasoning, and the waffle could have been made by a kid in a homestyle waffle maker.
The really sad part is that a few days later we went to Petisco, which is literally 20 feet away, and were blown away by the quality of their brunch.

I would like to agree with everyone that the food was excellent but sadly I can only say Eh it was ok. Now as a warning if you get easily offended, the waitress we had was sassy and sarcastic. We thought she was great and service was good.
The food, on the other hand, could use some work. The corned beef hash well mainly consisted of potatoes. You had to search for the pieces of corned beef, which could have been good if there was more meat and less taters. The Marianne benedict was interesting. I’m not sure if I liked it or just kept eating it because I was curious. I think instead of the bernaise sauce, the tenderloin should have just been seasoned with salt and pepper and just had hollandaise sauce. Also the crab cakes and eggs could use some work. The crab cakes were not good at all. Maybe it was an off day but I couldn’t figure out why this place had such high ratings.
