Midas

I’ve come here for a number of things my car needed. Every time the staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. They are honest and will get you in asap. This is my spot for car repairs and services. Jason’s customer service skills is fantastic. Probably a good reason why he’s manager. Thanks guys for taking care of my needy car.

I’m not one for writing negative reviews but in this case it was earned. We are from Ohio, and had our vehicle towed to the Halsey St Midas after it broke down during a road trip in that area. We chose this Midas because we use a Midas shop back in Ohio and have always had excellent service. Unfortunately this shop did not measure up. The vehicle came in via tow truck after we lost a wheel on Rt. 5. The Midas shop replaced a wheel bearing and some damage done to the rotor and sent us on our way, giving us the confidence that the car was fixed with them even knowing that we had 10,000 more miles to go on our trip. They even filled out their «safety inspection report» marking just about everything «green»… Not even 72 hours later, the same wheel fell off the car again! Thankfully the Halsey location wasn’t our closest Midas location this time. We still had some confidence in the Midas brand because of the excellent service we receive in Ohio, so we had it towed to a different Midas shop. It was given a thorough look over this time. There was a broken control arm and several other issues. We had the broken parts of the control arm and it was clear that there was a pre-​existing crack. They did the same «safety inspection report» that Midas Halsey street did, and amazingly found that there were actually several deficiencies. In fact, there wasn’t much «green» about the vehicle… By knowing about the issues, we were able to fix them and finally get safely on our way– but only through a different Midas than this one.
My frustration is not because Halsey Midas did poor work, it’s because they did incomplete work and gave us a «green light» on things that obviously weren’t checked. Because of this we literally endangered the lives of our family and children. It was a serious oversight on their part and one we won’t take lightly.
We did contact the manager, Roger, at Midas Halsey to try to resolve the issue. He only told us that he stood by his work and it all must have been a coincidence… Hmm, losing a wheel 72 hours after it was «correctly and completely» repaired. You be the judge.

Seriously the best car service I’ve ever had! They don’t try to take you for your money, overcharge you, or tell you that you need something when it’s not true. I’ve had my oil changed, brakes inspected, abs and traction control switch fixed, and bought tires and had them aligned. They were cheaper than everyone else, and I always call at least 3 other places first. They are very honest with you.
The last time I was in, a sensor needed to be replaced because it was damaged. Because they didn’t catch it on the first inspection (it would have been tough to do so since it was inside the tire) and had already given me a quote for everything, they switched it out for free costing them around $ 50 for the part alone.
Seriously save your time and money and come to this Midas for any of your needs! Make an appointment and it’s even more convenient for you.

I’ve been loyal to this Midas through 10 years, 2 locations, 5 cars, and thousands of dollars.
Today we brought in our car due to it sounding very loud when driving. They found a set of ball bearings needed replacing. Good news! They had replaced these same ball bearings 9 months ago and they are covered under the Midas lifetime warranty. The job was done free of charge.
Loyalty rewarded! I’ll always trust my cars to Midas.

I have always used Midas for all of my car care needs. They have always been honest and caring in their assessment of what is needed to keep my vehicles and passengers safe. This location is no different.
I have gotten nothing but A+ service every time I go here. Gavin and Roger are great to talk to and can help customers feel at ease regarding their car repairs.
The prices are always fair, they back up their work and can always be counted on. I will forever recommend their services and remain a happy, loyal customer.

They don’t really check your car like they’re supposed to. My wipers are eaten up and my battery is dead, yet they marked that they were «good condition.» lame :(
later on i opened the hood of my car, and they broke the plastic cover to my engine. no big deal, but they could have at least apologized and made a mention of that.
this place has a «Midas stink.»

This location was close for the past 2 years but recently re-​opened. Next time I would make an appointment but even without one they were willing to get the car in between 2 other appointments. Brandy is a character who works the front desk. Goofy and honest (I hope.) found the coupon for a $ 20 oil change and tire rotation in the mail so give that a try. Saved me $ 35 compared to going to Ron Tonkin on 122^nd. They wanted $ 55! One concern I have is the tire rotation. I have non directional tires but instead of taking my front driver side and mounting it to my passenger rear it was simply moved along to the driver rear. Not to mention this guy took about 4 brakes in between to wander and chat. Not speedy service but tell me an oil change place that doesn’t seem sketchy
