Terrific service, outstanding people! I sort of stumbled on MCC while getting my oil changed next door at Oil Can Henry’s (another great group of folks). I was venting a little to the tech at OCH, telling him how frustrated I was with repeated issues with my 2006 Passat, which is otherwise a fantastic car with low miles and very little wear and tear. The check engine light kept coming on, and no one could seem to figure out why — or solve the issue. The OCH tech suggested that I go next door and talk to MCC while they completed my oil change. I had a terrific conversation with Wayne at MCC — very knowledgable and personable and a quick study. I made an appointment to get the car in the next day; left in a loaner car the next morning; Had my car back that night. Breezed right through DEQ after that, so HAPPY. Wayne also made suggestions for further repairs on the car, suggestions that I hadn’t heard before, that answered some questions that I had asked previously at the dealership about certain performance issues. There was no hard-​sell on the additional repairs, just very straightforward and practical suggestions. Happy to say that we have found our go-​to for everything automotive! Very reasonable $$$ as well, happy to add! :)

Great service! I have been to a lot of car repair shops and never been completely happy but we have nothing but good things to say about metro car care. They are honest and do good work, reliable and quick. Also don’t try to sell you on things you don’t need. Their staff is professional and friendly.

We have 3 cars in the family. Things go wrong from time to time. I call metro and they fit me in quickly, and give me an honest estimate. They are trustworthy and professional, and experienced.

I’ve been to a slew of different mechanics around Portland, and these guys are definitely the best. They are fast, really friendly and very reasonable. They have offered loaner cars for jobs that take more time (which far surpasses any prior service I’ve experienced), and they always complete the job faster than anticipated.
In the past, as a woman who knows nothing about cars, I often feel taken advantage of by mechanics who recommend hundreds of dollars of upgrades to my car that I’m not sure are totally necessary. Metro Car Care never pressures, only recommend the necessary changes, and takes the time to explain why. I trust them with my car, and happily recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic. These guys did great work, and did it fast. My car rolled off the tow truck at 2:00 with a dead starter. Got a call at 4:45 the same day to let me know that it was ready to go. Really pleased with my experience.

I felt like I was at a used car dealership! These guys are full of _​_​it! They told me the part to fix my problem was $ 500 per side plus labor, and only Ford makes it (all lies). when I got home I looked it up…$ 380 from the dealership per side, or $ 200 for aftermarket! If you go here, find a second opinion, and take a shower when you get home these guys are slimey!

This place is wonderful — prompt service, clear explanations, reasonable prices, friendly personnel, never a problem. And they don’t look down on cars that are not the latest thing, but still work! I’ve been taking my car there for several years and would recommend it highly. I’ve also referred some friends there.
addition 3÷17÷2015: I took my car to the DEQ inspection not long ago. To my surprise, the inspector said, «This is the cleanest-​burning car I have seen all week!!!» And he showed me the numbers to prove it. That’s a pretty good recommendation for a 1992 model with 97K on it, and I’m sure some of the credit goes to Metro Car Care.

Friendly and honest. Prices are fair but not spectacular. I know several people who take all their cars to Metro, and now I’m one of them (when I can’t fix it myself).

With its friendly people and convenient location, what’s not to like? How about a price tag 10 times higher than it should be? My jaw literally hit the floor when they gave me an estimate. Of course, I sought out a second opinion. My second opinion got my car fixed for $ 132, about $ 1,000 LESS than this place quoted me. I don’t think I need to say anything else.
