This review is specifically for the bubble tea. I would have gone to the place next door which had many more options; however, they are a cash only business so they lost mine. First impression, it is extremely hot inside. I sat inside while I waited for them to make my drinks, and I started to get uncomfortable. The door was open even, and it was still so, so warm. I imagine that the warmth would be welcome during the winter, but definitely not on this unusually warm fall day. So, I ordered the taro and pineapple boba totaling $ 5 – not a bad price, I thought. I whip out my card and was informed that they have a $ 10 minimum *pause* ORELSE they will charge $ 0.50. I opt for the latter because I just don’t feel like getting anything more. I walk out with my two drinks and I taste both. For $ 2.50 each, I definitely feel like I got what I paid for. There was something about it that was just not good. Neither of them had a strong taro or pineapple flavor. I’m not sure… I think maybe it was watered down in addition to having a powdery taste. We drank about half of each drink and decided to chuck it. Maybe their baked goods are of better quality, but if you do decide to get some pearl drinks, I’d say try either of its two neighboring shops/restaurants that serve it.

I was glad to see that this bakery offered some new things! I tried the custard roll, and the hotdog cheese bun. Holy cow. Everything was super fresh and super well priced.

The cakes here are better than King’s bakery. If you need a cake, call a day ahead, because sometimes they don’t have certain flavors in stock but will make it if you give them enough notice. The lady is nice compared to other Chinese bakeries in the area. It is located in a strip mall so there is enough parking spots for everyone. This place is easy to get in and out of. Pastries are on par with the other Chinese bakeries and are also inexpensive.

You have to come here early, otherwise they get cleaned out! Their baked bbq pork buns are only $ 1 each and they’re delicious. Their turnovers are tasty, too, beef is our favorite. We’ve had a few of their other items and haven’t been disappointed. For the price and what you get, we will be here often. We spent $ 10 today and got an entire box stuffed with goods, the lady also threw in an extra pastry which was really sweet of her!

My favorite Bakery in town… Better than King’s and Gary’s…my wife absolutely love the red bean roll, but sad that they sell it on weekends only. I also recommend the bbq pork bun and the ham and egg sandwich. $ 5 will get u plenty. Oh, and we always order the mixed fruit flavored ice cream cake too. Perfect! Not too sweet either. Stop here today! Naw, i mean like NOW!!!

We always get birthday cakes here. I love how the frosting of the cake is not sweet and the cake is so good. We got the durain flavor cake this time and smells so good and taste is omg.

Correction: no milk powder buns, just coconut buns. The taro filled treats are not that great – no taro flavor and too sweet. The BBQ pork buns are delicious. The bread that they use on all their buns is pretty bland – I don’t get that fresh baked, buttery taste i would from other bakeries.

I love this adorable little shop. It has all the delights one could want at a much better value than the other bakeries in the area. You can’t beat the size of those BBQ pork buns for $ 1.00. I actually love how they run out of items too… means they are made fresh daily and not leftover from the day before! I’ve worked in bakeries, trust me it’s a good thing when shelves are bare by the afternoon.

As other people said, the shelves were bare when I walked in. Was that because they made little or did they get a mass rush before I got there? Little kids were behind the counter. Where are the adults? Wouldnt recommend this place. Kings Bakery’s shelves are always full with goodies.

By the time I stop in, the pastry shelf is almost bare. I was craving for bubble tea once and came in to ask for one. I was told that they don’t serve bubble tea even while one of the ladies was in the process of making one. The pastries are fine but there are better bakeries of this kind within a 5-block radius. Customer service is non-existent so don’t expect a cheery ‘Hello’ or a smile. Even a forced smile would have been fine. I like to support local businesses but this makes it hard to want to. Go next door for something refreshing to drink and skip the bakery.

The durian cake here is delicious! Probably the best one in Portland. We always get our birthday cakes here for that reason. The pastries — at least the ones I have tried — are just alright. Nothing special about them. The bubble tea is just awful! Don’t get it here! There is a reason why it is so cheap. It tastes artificial! Just head over to Bambu next door if you are thirsty.

Got my strawberry birthday cake here! It was delicious. I have also tried their durian cakes, and let me just say… this place is the best place to get your durian cake! Amazing! I haven’t tried their boba tea or pastries, but they seem to be priced at a reasonable price. I’ll have to try those during my next visit!

Located in the strip mall behind KFC/A&W on the corner of SE82nd and Division. Stopped in about noon on a Thursday and there was a very good selection available. The service was good, polite and friendly, I sensed her English wasn’t good, but we got by fine. The fresh fruit cake is delicious. I haven’t tried many of their other items but they all look really good and are cheap($.80-$ 1.50). There is a good selection of flavors for bubble tea, which is $ 2.50. I’m planning on going back to try some of their buns and egg tarts soon.

Very good, savory Chinese pastries at ridiculously low prices. 80c for a bacon-and-scallion bun the size of your hand. Other standouts: ham and cheese bun, curry beef popover, pineapple bun(simple but nice), pork bun three times bigger than the ones you get at dim sum. This place can probably look a bit intimidating since it’s filled with older folks chatting away in Chinese, and the staff is understandably busy. But on my first visit, everyone was extremely friendly. It’s a quick, grab-and-go spot, so just point to the first three things that look good to you.

All the pastries sold here are at reasonable prices. The female owner always seems to be very rude if you don’t speak Chinese. I always get bad service and attitude from her every time I come here so I stopped going there. There are other great bakeries and of course great SERVICE in town!

This place is kind of dead. Given that we came in kind of late in the day, but one of the display cases was completely empty and the other one was partially full. I love bakeries and getting to see all the awesome baked goodness. This place just made me kind of sad and disappointed because there was no selection. I ended up getting a green bean bubble tea. The green bean slushie itself was tasty, but the tapioca was definitely a miss. Soggy balls = no bueno.

I come here every week for my family, we always order the same thing, some custard buns, ham and egg sandwiches, regular buns that are just eaten for breakfast, and a few other sweet buns. The place is located on the corner of 82nd and Powell, where the Food 4 Less used to be and it’s next to the pawn shop! The place is really small, they have a few seats inside if you wanted to buy your pastry and eat it there, they also make cakes for all occasions and also have a few drinks such as coffee, tea, milk tea, and few drinks in their drink fridge such soda and juice. It’s run by Asian people that can barely speak English so be aware! They are very patient in waiting for you to decide too, try not to come in the morning too much because there is a rush of people getting their breakfast here mainly elderly and people that are on their way to work which is around 8−10am. But also don’t come near closing hours because they won’t have anything good left! They bake their goods daily!

Cheesy hot dog bun! Must Get! This place is a small hole in the wall, but you won’t find a bun over 1.00 dollar. Best bubble teas. I wish this place had Vietnamese sandwiches it would be my one stop shop for everything.

I was pretty let down once I stepped foot in their store and saw their not so appetizing baked goods. There was only one photo on Unilocal so it was hard for me to gauge what they sell. I uploaded a few pics which hopefully will help others. Usually I like to get the pineapple buns at Chinese bakeries, but theirs had a fluorescent bright color to it which really repelled me. I ended up trying their coffee roll cake and a mochi filled with custard. The cake was a little dry and the mochi was very dry on the outside which seems like it wasn’t fresh. They also need to work on their service since the lady was kind of rude. If you’re in the area, I would recommend you to try King’s Bakery instead.
