Having just moved to Portland and moving into my first home I was very excited to get a new bed. I read the reviews of mattress world northwest and decided this was the place to go. I was not disappointed. Sean was extremely helpful in explaining all of the different options in mattress styles. And believe me, I needed the breakdown. Not only was Sean a wealth of knowledge but he was great to talk with and gave me some tips about moving to Portland. I ended up buying a bed I’m very excited about and received a killer smile at the end from Sean! Great experience for sure and will be back for more.

Great customer service from Sean and Andy. They both educated me about mattresses, matching me to the mattresses they offered. I learned a lot from them and they made me feel more confident about my purchase. I never felt pressured to decide. I felt they both wanted me to make a good choice and they were there to help give me a steer.

Seriously, an example of great customer service. Yes, a tiny mistake was made, but it was definitely rectified the same day. In fact, Sean and Teresa went out of their way to make sure I have to correct product at the end of the day.
We bought a single pillow at first, (my neck was in constant pain with my 5 year old pillow and could not stay asleep at night). But we checked out several different mattresses while we were there as we are also in the market for a new mattress. Bryan (who reminds me of Jon Stewart) was very helpful, patiently explaining different kinds of pillow and what would work best for me. He also showed us different style of mattresses that we might be interested in.
The next week, we went back here to purchase a mattress and Teresa helped us with our choices of mattress. She was patient as well and informative. She was definitely able to relate with us and our needs.
Sean was there that day, helping a different customer at the time, but he was also friendly with us. (He has a very strong resemblance to Slater when Slater was still young and good-​looking).
We bought the mattress that day (Saturday) and a protective bed sheet cover, with another pillow. The mattress itself (and the board that goes with it) was delivered by Monday noon. But we took the protective bed sheet cover home with us. While I was about to wash it for the first time that day, it turned out it was the wrong product. I of course called them to let them know, and that day, Teresa went out of her way to go to another store and pick up the product (since they were out) and then Sean, on his way home, dropped by our house to exchange it.
That’s why I think they are an example of great customer service. If I need anything sleep related, I will definitely come back here, and I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

I want it cheap and firm. He showed me two different models and I went with the one that was a bit pricey’er however someone told me you spend half your life on it. He came down in price a bit since I didn’t need it delivered nor did I need the box spring. Mattress was in stock and I was asleep day of in my new comfy bed.

My very first experience shopping for my very first mattress to own. I interacted with Sean and it was quite pleasant, he went through all options available by order of price range and I felt no pressure at all to buy right away. He also didn’t try to sell me unnecessary product like a normal salesman. I appreciated his style of sales, he had a humble swagger, walking around with only socks and almost guaranteeing that he had the best prices (which he did). The product has been wonderful so far. The company is family owned and I really felt it in the customer service and prices in the store. Sean even helped move the mattress into the uhaul that I rented all by himself, that’s what I call service. If ever I need another mattress, which I probably won’t because of the great product I received, I will come to mattress world NW Portland.

Their amazing service puts this place far above any other mattress store we’ve visited. We were on the east side for other reasons and decided to stop into Mattress World on a whim. I’m glad we did.
I was impressed by the attentive, but not pushy, service we received. Sean knew everything about the mattresses, and was able to explain the differences between them much better than the salespeople at other stores we’d been to previously. He had the amazing ability to be there when we had a question, but then disappear into the background of the store when we just wanted to try the mattresses out. Unlike in other stores, I didn’t feel weird lying on the mattresses because he was so good at backing away and leaving us alone, only coming back around when we had questions.
When we decided to move forward with the purchase, Sean took it upon himself to price check other stores and matched a lower price he found elsewhere. I was very impressed with the service we received here, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this location to all my friends. We live in the Beaverton area, butI will be driving out here again next time we need a mattress.

Teresa was remarkable in regards to customer service. In a town where attitude is synonymous with eye rolling, she was the complete opposite; always friendly, always going out of her way.
It’s probably odd to give five stars for my experience, but let me explain. Even when we realized that we ordered the wrong thing, she did not make a point to defend herself or make me go on the defensive. She made it right. I can own half of our miscommunication, but what impressed me was that she did as well, and then some. I’ll spare the details, but she really, really went out of her way to make sure I left as a happy customer. What had the potential of being a worst case scenario, was actually quite the opposite. Teresa truly restored a little lost something in me: there are still people that take their job seriously… and that care about their customers. Teresa, thanks again.

I wrote a heated review of Mattress World a few months back because I had a bad experience with one employee who may have been in a bad mood the day I dealt with him. Since I wrote that review I have to say they have gone way out of their way to make things right. The guys at the 82 nd avenue store were polite and helpful in fixing my minor problem and the owner even contacted me to apologize. I feel really good about this business now, I have bought 3 mattresses and more sleep related stuff from them and think it was just an unfortunate interactio. It doesn’t really reflect the companies values. Thanks for making things right! I will be back.

My wife and I were driving by this weekend and thought, «You know… we need a new mattress… let’s go check some out.»
We walked into Mattress World… talk about a good experience! No wait… a great experience!
Sean was our sales representative. I am in sales myself and Sean was on top of his game… his product knowledge was impeccable, his attitude was never pushy, and he was genuinely interested in making sure that we got the exact mattress we needed for our personal sleep habits. We ended up buying one of the nicest models on the floor because he sold the excitement that comes with having a great nights sleep. If we ever need another mattress (which I am sure we will once we buy a house) we will definitely be back to see Sean. I am also very impressed with their selection of inventory… the showroom wasn’t too fancy, but was very comfortable and approachable.

After a long day of furniture and mattress shopping, we stepped into Mattress World and from the get go, we had world class service. Race, the salesman, (I know cool name), made our experience so EPIC, we purchased our mattress within 20 minutes of stepping into the store. We had just spent several hours at other places, but between the price, quality, and service, we couldn’t say «No.» Definitely will be a repeat customer. Thanks Race!

Recently I needed a new mattress on the fly and these guys were super helpful and really friendly. Race really knows his mattress selection and is knowledgeable about what your mattress can do for you physically, which I found very interesting.
All together decent prices for quality mattresses. Be careful though, some of those handmade $ 2500 beds are dangerous but they’ll let you try ‘em out anyways, even if they are way out of your budget. :)
They even worked out same day delivery for me so I could get my mattress in my new apartment the same day I got my keys. SO NICE! what a lovely experience.

Portland’s Best Mattress store! The people are as high quality as the mattresses they have in the store.

A Tale of Two Mattress stores. Grab the popcorn, this is going to be riveting.
Short version: Go to Mattress World. Amazing service, great value, all-​around easy and even fun experience. DO NOT go to Bed Mart on Broadway. RUDE service. RUDE!
Long version: After years of waking up with an aching back and a husband sleeping on the couch (because the couch was way more comfy than our old mattress, don’t worry, our relationship is just fine) we decided to spend Labor Day weekend mattress shopping. Whee! After researching the sales online, we narrowed our options down to Bed Mart and Mattress World. We went to Mattress World first. Aside from the BBQ going on outside making my vegan heart weep a little, everything was great. Race presented us with multiple options without making us feel pressured in the slightest. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Still, we wanted to feel like we’d done our due diligence, so we headed off to Bed Mart. Race went so far as to write down the name of the brand and style, as well as the price, of the mattress we were interested in, and mentioned even if we didn’t by a mattress from him he was just glad we were supporting NW companies.
Armed with this info, we strode confidently into Bed Mart… and were immediately shot down. «I don’t have that brand here,» said the salesman snidely. «Here, try this mattress. Don’t just put your knee on it, you have to lay down.» He didn’t say «Duh,» but his tone did. He then proceeded to try and upsell us to a TempurPedic. (Way out of our price range, dude.) He actually seemed relieved when we said we were going back to Mattress World. Terrible service. I shouldn’t be made to feel dumb for not knowing more about mattress styles, guy, you’re the mattress salesman, not me.
So we went back to Mattress World, got great service and a screaming deal. Sean even gave us travel tips for our upcoming trip to Mexico as he was loading our mattress in my truck. I would recommend Mattress World to anyone. Bed Mart on Broadway, however, can ride one of their mattresses straight to hell.

Finally, got a nice pillow-​top queen size bed with a box spring! The guys here were great! Race, Justin and Joe made me feel comfortable as I was the only person in the store trying out beds. The price listed on the bed includes the mattress, box spring, frame, warranty and delivery. They will help you in order to get the bed you want for your budget. They are patient with their customers and will let you be, as you try to make a decision.
The delivery was great service as well. They give you a 2 hour time slot in which they would be at your place.
Recommend this place for anyone wanting to buy a high quality mattress at a good price.

I couldn’t imagine a better mattress buying experience. Race helped us learn what we were looking for. He was patient as we walked around the storing trying everything out. He explained all the different options.
He helped find the ideal mattress then gave us a good deal including a protective mattress cover. He knew when to hang around and answer questions and when to walk away so we could discuss the purchase. I would recommend this store and ask Race to give you the tour.

Buying a mattress can be a confusing and expensive experience. There are so many different aspects of buying a new bed that I have never even considered. My family had just moved and we decided that new beds were in order. We were downtown and I spied a bed store and decided to go check it out. When I stepped into Mattress World downtown I was warmly greeted by a salesmen named Luis. While I am usually wary of salesmen, Luis put me at ease by answering all my questions honestly and did not try to pressure me into buying something I didn’t need. My wife and I were looking for a king mattress for us and a kids bed for our daughter and Luis came through brilliantly with ideas and suggestions that suit our needs. If your on the westside, I highly suggest making the 15 minute trek to the downtown location and finding Luis, you will not be disappointed.

As a college student, I have to find beds fast and at a decent price. I went around different places to find a decent bed frame, and mattress. I was looking for a full size, and all these prices were crazy and the cheapest thing I could find was something absolutely uncomfortable (matresses they use at summer camp). I decided to go to Mattress World NW Downtown. The store is big and spacious and have a large variety of beds. I was able to find a bed less than 400 dollars that was COMFORTABLE. I couldn’t believe it, and they delivered to my house in Eugene in less than a week. I had an extremely great experience buying here. I was helped by Luis who was more than helpful at trying to find the best prices for me.

I don’t generally write reviews on furniture or household goods stores on Unilocal.That was until I went to Mattress World Northwest.
The sales staff and manager of the store instantly make you feel relaxed. There is no «hard sell» or attempt to get you to buy more than your budget will allow. In fact, they make purchasing a large ticket item feel, well. .. painless.
The general manager Brad was awesome. He was the nicest salesperson I have ever dealt with. I mean it. He spent so much time with my wife and I. We brought I three year old with us and she ended up sleeping on one of the floor model beds for over 2 hours. In the end, we decided on the more expensive bed — that Brad never pushed us. In fact, he deflected my question re: «which bed would you get?»
I travel a lot (over 200,000 miles per year). This means I am on the road more than I am at home. It means a lot to me to know that we have a bed that my wife finds comfortable and a bed that is pleasant to return home to.
When we need to upgrade (I hope this «upgrade» will not be for a few years) our bed — I will only turn to one place — Mattress World NW. And, I will definitely ask to work with Brad (the GM) again. I can’t speak highly enough about the staff at Mattress World! They are great.

Mattresses… we all need them, but it can really be a pain to shop for them; seems like the mattress business attracts some hucksters to it. Notice all those 50% sales at the mattress stores? Umm hmm.
Anyhow, the old mattress had been caving in for quite a while and she finally started to share my opinion that it was time for as new one (I think when you have to climb out of the bed rather than off of it, it’s past time). There is one specific brand/​type of mattress that we really like, and after coming up with bupkis at a couple of stores we spotted Mattress World on our way home and decided to give it a shot. I had assumed that it was a national chain, but MW is in fact locally owned and the owner was in the store. They have a lot of mattresses in their showroom, all there to be tested out.
Rachel, our sales woman, was very friendly and informative, she really knows the products. After laying around for a while we found the mattress of our dreams (so to speak) and she was quite willing to price negotiate. So we’ve got the price and set a delivery date for three weeks out at a particular time on Sunday, and the delivery guys arrive exactly on time, set up the new mattress with no drama, and take away the old mattress. Everything done exactly the way it was agreed to. Perfect.
