Great place, Amy has been cutting and coloring my mothers hair for years. Each and every time my mom goes she does something a little different. I myself have gotten hair cut and a color recently that fixed my dry hair. Amy knows her stuff and really listens to what you want. She’s focused and great at what she dose, highly recommend going to her. The salon is great, girly, friendly staff, and they make you feel right at home. :)

I have been seeing Desiree for years I followed her from Regis… I must say Matisse & Picasso has such a great atmosphere, and if you are looking for someone who is an amazing hair artist ask for Desiree!!! She always knows just what to do with my hair color and my cut…

Called them twice AND left a v.m. to set up an appointment for a shampoo and cut. Never received a call back. I really hope the owners are reading this, so here it goes. You guys are hurting your own business with below par practices such as the above. I didn’t think twice to walk away and give my business to another salon that deserves it. Keep in mind money isn’t the only thing you earn by opening a business. At your earliest convenience, look up the definition for a «goodwill» of a business. You might learn a thing or two. :)

Let me start by saying this salon is one of the friendliest, family like setting. All of the stylist are not only professional, knowledgeable and highly experienced in salon services. But are also honest and caring. Everyone who walks in and sits observing for more than ten minutes will see that they are a great group of ladies! Enjoy some coffee, tea, or your choice of drink. Along with some yummy food at Biscuits Café a few doors down. When your service is complete not only will you be smiling after all the laughing and conversation with your stylist. You will walk out looking your best and have beautiful color, cut, and style. this salon and the stylist!

Of course, when your favorite stylist leaves one place and goes to another you are going to follow them. I have reviewed Shawna at Regis in the past and she has since moved to Matisse and Picasso, not too far up the road, but definitely a better location and atmosphere over the chaos of the mall. If you want the most awesome cut and color job for your hair, Shawna is the woman to go to. I get stopped all the time and asked about my hair color and who does it. You won’t find it in a box on the shelf, that is for sure, as she works her mixing genius with colors. She listens to you, which is half the battle with stylists who give you a cut and color that they you should have, not what you want. The joke at home is, Shawna has never made me go home and cry. I think if you want something new or touched up, she would be the one to go to. She is also fun to spend time with while you get your hair done and makes you feel welcome as a client.

I’ve been going to Matisse & Picasso for over 10 years now and I love all the girls there, they are like family to me! After reading the negative response above all I have to say is you can’t please everyone! 9,237,347 happy customers and counting …&1 lady who came into the hair salon with damaged bleached blonde hair asking the stylist if there was anything she could do to fix it… Lets just say she looked better leaving than when she came in… I feel sorry for that other salon who had to deal with her. Thanks girls for the last 10 years, here’s to the next 10! Sheldon

Let me start by saying the cut was good enough, and the stylist herself was very nice during my visit. With that out of the way… here it goes. On Tuesday November 13th, I purchased a groupon to see a stylist(I’ve decided to leave her name out). I was seen within an hour of calling and was seated right away. After describing what I’d like, she got started. Everything was going fine, and she was pleasant to chit chat with. When my hair was dried, it was immediately curled. At the time, I really liked it, because with the curls I couldn’t see how the color was laying. Once I got home and brushed my hair out to go to bed, I saw the damage. My hair was spotty, like the foils were not done right and the color was sitting on top of the others. It literally looks like a cheetah. It is AWFUL. I cried for thirty minutes when I saw it, which prompted my husband to email groupon to get our money back. I mentally convinced myself it wasn’t THAT bad, and went to work the next day with my hair down. Three people came up to me asking me what happened, one even sent a picture to her sister who is a stylist and her response was«how is that women doing hair?!». I’ve since shown people, who all agree it is AWFUL and this women should not be doing hair. Friday came around and I finally gathered the courage to call the salon. I asked to speak with an owner or a manager and spoke with a women named Amy, who essentially belittled me for not calling the stylist herself. Obviously I feel uncomfortable talking to her directly and telling her what a horrible job she did. Rather than offer to fix it herself, the owner said no one can fix it but the stylist and she would have her call me that day. Amy’s tone throughout the conversation made me feel like I was bothering her and was a huge inconvenience for being unhappy. What kind of place is this?! I still have not received a call from the stylist and wouldn’t step foot in this salon if they paid me. I have since made an appointment with Ginger Salon, and am going to be paying upwards of $ 175 to have this horrible MESS fixed. Until then, I get to wear my hair in a bun so people will stop making comments and asking if I went to a beauty school and had my hair done by a student on their first day. This salon should be truly ashamed of WHO they hire and how they handle their costumers. Oh and I have PLENTY of pictures of my hair saved if they ever feel the need to defend their actions.

This review is specifically for Celeste, a stylist at Matisse & Picasso… Early on in my Los Angeles days, I quickly learned about the power of a good hair cut. Granted, I had been rocking the Depeche Mode, emo cut for quite some time and was ready for a change. That change brought on a whole new perception from the ladies, and from that day forth, I vowed to never have bad guy hair. Upon my return from Los Angeles some 6 years ago, I was in desperate need of a new hair stylist… luckily I found Celeste and have been a dedicated client since. Anytime I can go in, have a beer waiting for me, and be able to discuss anything and everything it is a good thing. I totally trust her to come up with new styles and cuts, and have never had a bad one. In fact, she is so good, my wife goes to her now too…
