A very small place but amazing food! I came in to get a lunch deal one day and it was less then 5 $. Very filling! I came the second day and ordered a regular meal… but wow… the portion can feed two. A good place to always get food. Just call ahead before lunch break. Because this is a busy place! I like it a lot! Convenient place near Montgomery Park building! Love that!

A big plate of teriyaki chicken, 3 pot stickers and a drink for 7.50. I can see why they are so busy for lunch. The service was still fast. They have great hot sauce as well.

Great food at an affordable price! Their lunch special is only like $ 6.50 and comes with a lot of food! I can never finish it! And their pot stickers are my FAVORITE!

Like I needed an amazing teriyaki place that’s literally 500 feet from my doorstep? I really don’t. This girl doesn’t need a reason to blow $ 15 a week(potentially) on fantastic, simple charred-and-sauced chicken with rice and veggies. So, I’ve lived RIGHTBEHIND this teriyaki place for years, and always ignored it on account of the exterior. It doesn’t look super divey or trashy… but it doesn’t necessarily scream«spend your money here!!!» It looks like a place that caters to the industrial area workers who don’t care about lunchtime quality, as much as they do quantity. I was both right and wrong. The people who work in the area? Hell yeah they eat lunch here. But they also get their bang for their buck, as the lunch special is only $ 6.50 for a huge plate of food and a drink, and *SPOILERALERT*– the food is absolutely delicious and overportioned. Daaaaaaaaamn. Way to make me eat my words, Mashita. And with chopsticks, no less.

Delicious food! A little hole in the wall that needs to be tried. I’m coming back here to try the lunch special one of these days.

My coworkers and I frequent this little teriyaki joint. Their prices are so reasonable for the amount of food you get. The lunch special is only $ 6.50 and you get chicken, rice, potsickers, veggies, and a drink! I’ve gotten their yakisoba before and it wasn’t very good which is why I’m only giving 4 stars. Can’t go wrong with rice!

I stopped here to get some food for lunch since I work in the area. Co workers recommended it. This place is great. Good food. I call ahead and ready when I walk in. I’d say above average for Japanese bento places. Not fancy on outside or inside but its the food that counts.

Amazing prices for the quantity. Food made fresh each order. Last time I got spicy chicken to go the damn chicken was still sizzling! And when you ask for extra veggies you are getting damn near half a head of cabbage. The sauce is excellent, chicken succulent, veggies are fresh what more could anyone ask for?

Working in town from California. A friend and I went there for lunch. Although the front of the restaurant doesn’t look inviting, the staff were friendly and the food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. I would eat here again and again. By the time we left, the place was packed.

I come in about once a week while in town for work. I first came here solely because of Unilocal reviews and in my opinion, you guys are spot on! This place is great. The prices are reasonable considering your serving size is huge. The lunch special is less than seven bucks and you get enough food for two people. Nice environment. Cleanly. Smells great. Nice décor. The place gets packed at lunch, but the wait after you order is a lot shorter than you think it should be. I recommend this place to anyone, at least for one visit, if not many more.

This branch in the mashita teriyaki franchise is good enough to make me overlook my general boredom w/bentos, but not quite good enough to make me forget, let alone forsake my favorites in the genre locally— that being, Soy Grill, and Rice Junkies– admittedly, Rice Junkies at least partially owes to being friends w/the original owners/operators. Not much has ever thrived in this still-rather ugly industrial section of town, so mad props to MT5 for being able to stay relevant and stay at it for over 10 years. I especially enjoyed their spicy chicken plate, as well as the Ribeye, though it is now $ 13.50, vs the 11.99 advertised price, and probably not something I’d order again, at that price point. next time I’ll be sure to check out the shrimp skewers, spicy pork, and maybe the katsu chicken…

Love this little joint. Another great NW industrial district lunch option. At my work we call it chickeny chicken because of the logo(is it a chicken cannibal or what??). Which actually indicates that everyone I work with comes here regularly enough to create endearing nicknames. I usually get the chicken bento or the lunch special, good portions and reasonable prices. The menu doesn’t have a huge selection– basically some combination of 3 – 4 different meat options over rice or noodles– but they do it well. The lady who takes orders at the counter is really nice as well. It can get pretty busy around lunchtime so call ahead if you’re in a hurry.

You ever sit and watch a hummingbird in action? It can sometimes stay still all the while it’s wings are going a million times a second(Not sure the actual number, I’m not a bird scientist)! Well, the lady who runs the counter of this place is pretty much a hummingbird. Somehow like 18 things are getting done all at once! And the knife cutting the chicken in the back sounds like a friggin machine gun going off, so they’re no slouches in the kitchen either! And they can’t be because at lunchtime this place is a zoo! Because it’s REALLY good. You know it’s like just a bunch of chicken over some rice and steamed cabbage and all, but damn, their Teriyaki just has an edge on all the others I’ve ever had. Even the other places under the same franchise name. Protip– If you don’t wanna pack yer little piggy gut all full of rice, just ask for half rice and they’ll make up the difference in veggies! That one’s freebie.

Another case of don’t judge a book by its cover. Case in point: this joint. I’ve worked in the NW industrial area for a year now and have seen this place, but haven’t had the desire to try it, mostly because the place looked run down and I just assumed they wouldn’t have any vegetarian options. Fast forward to a week ago, when a couple of my coworkers mentioned going to this place for lunch and offered to buy me lunch. They showed me the menu, and lo and behold, they actually had vegetarian options. And they had four! I ended up getting the tofu plate, and since they’re buying me lunch, I really had nothing to lose in this situation. Twenty minutes or so later, in front of me was a container full of rice, vegetables, and not one, not two, but EIGHT blocks of tofu. And all were covered in tasty teriyaki sauce. The vegetables were nicely cooked and still had a crunch to them. The tofu were fried well and were covered in enough sauce, and the rice was a perfect vessel for the sauce. Overall, not bad for a free lunch. So now that I know they serve a pretty darn tasty lunch, I’ll definitely consider getting food from them in the future. Also, the tofu plate is $ 5.99, and for the amount of food I got, it’s a pretty darn good deal. Hooray for new discoveries!

I’m here about once a week for lunch. Sometimes I eat in and sometimes I just take it to go. It looks like a little rinky dink place but it’s actually clean, there are places to sit(if it’s not slammed), they’re very friendly, fast, affordable, and the food is consistently good. I’ve had the yakisoba, chicken katsu, and the chicken teriyaki w/pot stickers. My favorite is the chicken teriyaki w/pot stickers. For a little over $ 7 you get a lot of food… and I really like pot stickers. They are also open early so you can grab your food ahead of time if you know you are going to be busy during the lunch hour. If you are going to pick up your food during the busy lunch hours, you can call ahead and they’ll have your food ready and waiting for you. This place gets busy. It’s no secret.
