The ladies who worked here didn’t acknowledge me to any degree when I was the only shopper in the store. The lack of customer service made me not want to purchase anything. They were deep in conversational gossip and didn’t think to say hello or goodbye.

I have to applaud the savvy of the store owner, who has fully harnessed the power of Selling Used Stuff to Portlanders Who Will Pay Any Price. We’ve all been to places like Buffalo Exchange and seen Forever 21 dresses selling for a buck less than their original prices, but at stores with a more curated vintage selection, it’s easier to assume that there’s a higher level of authenticity. Nah brah. I almost died laughing when I came across a selection of Soffe shorts (you know ‘em, they’re colorful elastic-​waisted shorts that you can get for $ 8 at Fred Meyer) for $ 14. They do have a 70s look, but the tags have a URL on them, so either Soffe was WAY ahead of their time, or you’re buying someone else’s gym shorts from last year for $ 14. So two stars for passing off stuff from a Kohls sale rack as vintage, but also two stars to you, customers, who make this possible. For shaaaame!

Great vintage selection. Bought a coat from Magpie at the old location. It was the only item of clothing my grown son ever noticed or complemented me on. The new location has even more selection with the same great reasonable prices. Slip back in time and enjoy the ambience of this unique store with friendly staff who really know their vintage! I love Magpie, I’ve been shopping here for years. They consistently have a great, true vintage selection that is priced accordingly, but not exorbitantly. There’s something here for everyone’s price point and lots to marvel at and appreciate. If you love the details and history of clothing, check this place out. From beautiful Victorian delicates to fun 60s/​70s prints and graphics – They’ve got it all. Men’s stuff too, plus shoes, accessories for all. I could go on, but you should just stop in and see for yourself :)

What a great unique and well kept presentation of all things pretty. However, what impressed me most was the excellent customer service. It really felt more like going to a friend’s home than a forced and pressured shopping experience. Support this store… It is a special experience.
