This place is NOTOUTOFBUSINESS!!! The best prices on most produce I have found in Portland, by far(especially mangos!). Lucky to have this in my area. Support this place, lest it close again(as it supposedly once did)! I am not sure what the hours are but I will add them when I find out.

I found the produce fresh and very well laid out. The owner is perhaps one of the nicest store owners I’ve ever met. Please support this local business. SADLYTHISPLACEISNOWOUTOFBUSINESS

Spanish was my first language, yet I still throw off the ethnic folk when I speak it to them. In general they are usually either A.) relieved that they don’t have to bust out their broken English in an effort to communicate or B.) stare at me in disbelief like I am some kind of strange phenomenon. I don’t know why this is so intriguing to the ethnic folk but this was the case at Los Amigos. To be honest I had no clue Los Amigos existed until I was driving up Killingsworth in search of a bag of chips and a six pack. I marched right in and hollered«Buenas tardes!» to the proprietor. I continued to talk in espanol about the weather as I walked up and down the aisles. There was a ton of fresh produce, rows of Hispanic products like sabritas and ganzitos, hominy and mole. Everything except beer. After I gave up on finding beer, I grabbed a pack of homemade Mexi chips and headed for the counter. The proprietor stared at me inquisitively. Asked me where I was from. Where I learned the Espanol, and how did I find his market. His eyes were filled with genuine curiosity as he clung on to every word that came out of my mouth. I was going to ask him if he wanted my autograph but before I could say another word, he offered up a box of Chiclets and told me to take some for free. I grabbed a pack of pink ones and threw them in my purse while he continued to encourage me to come back soon. Los Amigos is a little out of my way but I’d be willing to go back on a day that I needed my spirits lifted or a pack of free chiclets.
