Jennifer Johnston has been my exclusive realtor for several years. It started with my niece who purchased a house through Jennifer. My niece’s positive response regarding Jennifer’s services, competency, work ethic, enthusiasm and knowledge of the market has impressed and benefited all of us. Since that initial encounter, my family has relied on Jennifer to buy or sell several houses/​condos. We have never been disappointed. She is reliable, takes time to listen, and understands our various needs. She’s makes excellent and helpful suggestions for property improvement when needed and/​or requested. Besides all of the above, we like her! I have not even considered using another realtor for the past ten or more years.

I would recommend Jennifer to anyone who needs a realtor. She heled us sell our home and purchase a new one. Her experience and knowledge made the whole experience go very smooth. She can into our 110 yr old home and helped us with cosmetic repairs to help us quickly sell it and also get asking price.

Jennifer had a lot of curves thrown at her that had nothing to do with the house itself but was always very calm and helpful with us – or at least she looked composed and cheerful when she was with us, but may have done her screaming at home. She was extremely patient through the process, and was always ready to explain something that was new to us.
Most importantly, of course, she did a terrific job selling the house and was particularly good with negotiations, saving us a lot of work and money.

I think any competent agent can help you sell your house when things go smoothly, but the true test is when things are challenging. My house sale was challenging to say the least. It’s an old home and it needed a lot of work. We had some bad luck with buyers. For example we had one who committed and then their financing fell through at the last possible moment. We had one who simply changed her mind at the last minute because she decided my house was too close to a busy street. But through it all Jennifer maintained an optimism and strength that really kept me going. She’s a true pro at everything from marketing to negotiation.
You never know what challenges might come up during a sale, so it’s a good idea to go with an agent who has the experience and fortitude to weather any storm. In the end my house sale went through at full asking price. I am so very grateful to Jennifer for all she did. I recommend her without hesitation or reservation.

Everything David M. already said, in spades! I contacted Jennifer after beginning to feel that the original realtor I’d selected in Portland wasn’t taking my interest in a house seriously, or didn’t value my account. I’m SO glad I made the switch! The first thing Jennifer did was arrange a face-​to-​face meeting to determine exactly what my priorities and means were, and on the first day she started sending me much better listings than I’d been seeing for the last three months out of the other agent.
She’s very knowledgeable, she really listens, she thinks creatively, and at least in my case I feel like she understood what I was looking for in a house better than maybe even I did. Plus, she communicates rapidly and well, and she’s totally on the ball about alerting her clients to new listings. That said, she’s not at all pushy. When I set my heart on a major fixer-​upper in a weird section of town — with «great potential» — she gently suggested that I might be biting off more than I could chew. She was totally right. I’m in a house that’s absolutely perfect for me now, and I owe that to her. She was invaluable all the way through the process, from search to inspection to contractor quotes to closing. Oh, and she got me 10.6% off the asking price in a seller’s market. That’s pretty great!
This is my third home purchase, and by far she’s been the best purchasing realtor I’ve had the pleasure to do business with. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
2÷14÷15 update: I’m eternally grateful to her suggestion that I look outside of my original geographic sphere. Because I bought in a place that I’d never otherwise have though to look (outer NE, still super happy here), I’ve been able to take on a great new job that would have otherwise been an hour away. She suggested that the job market might be more focused in this area than in the inner SE, and wow, was she right!

Wonderful agent. Ensured that we weren’t blinded by a beautiful house (road noise ok? Power line ok? Etc). She was exceptionally patient and made house buying fun. Never pushy and we ended up with exactly what we wanted. Highly recommended!

After dealing with a handful of other agents in the past for both buying and selling previous properties, my most recent experience with Jennifer has left me with the feeling I have a real-​estate agent for as long as I live here in Portland!
For the first time, I REALLY felt that Jennifer LISTENED and understood all the parameters of my search: budget, location, time frame (which was a crunch), and my desires for new home features!
We ended up writing offers on three different houses. Each step, the advice she gave proved fruitful and sage. Once we got an accept, there was a bit of seller drama which Jennifer acted as an excellent buffer from me. She facilitated a smooth transaction with both seller and mortgage lender… really involved… and I got the feeling it was landing me in the right house and not ‘making the sale’ which was her top priority.
Since closing, Jennifer and I have continued our business relationship with her tirelessly looking for a low budget investment property for me. Also, with great confidence I have given her name out as a referral to some friends of mine and will share their experience was as equally pleasing as mine. She rocks!
