Every so often, you cave to that desire. Sometimes it’s a «reward» for a hard day or waiting putting up with a long day of waiting. Sometimes it’s almost a punishment — «I don’t deserve good, real food», sometimes it’s a simple matter of convenience — your doctor’s office is righ nearbye so you ONLY stop when you go to the Dr, and sometimes you just know that nothing in your fridge is going to jump out at you without lots of prep work on your part. That — and I happen to have $ 4 in my pocketbook.
So — I’m not sure the reason, but yesterday was one of those days. On my way home from my kid craft class (I teach, I’m not a kid, really) I stopped here at the corner of MLK and Columbia. Caveat — If you enter through the convenient back driveway, you cannot go back out to MLK and take a left. But by then I had food, and was happy to drive around a little more. Maybe it’s a Portland thing or fat girl thing, but I don’t wanna be seen bringing those bags into the house! Anyhow — I don’t recall ever going to Jack in the Box before — doesnt mean it didnt happen, but I don’t recall it and we didn”t have any on the east coast.
It wasn’t bad. I got a value bacon cheeseburger, value fries and value chicken nuggets for $ 3.48. I pretty much exclusively eat off value menus at fast food. The burger was pretty tasty! Lettuce & a hint of tomato, pickles and a mayo-​ey sauce suited me just fine. The fries were clearly cooked in fresh oil. By the time I started the chicken, I knew I was should have stopped — but they look so small and innocent. The chicken was ok. proccessed, crunchy — not too much flavor (but that’s what ranch dipping sauce if for, I suppose).
I definitely had that disgusting taste in my mouth even before I had finished the chicken nuggets — god I hate that. But often with fast food, there is an accompanying feeling of overwhelming yuck in my tummy. I didn’t feel sick, I just felt like I needed to brush my teeth. So all in all — the story had a happy ending.

5 cars ahead of me when I order. OK, no problem, right?
Wrong. It took me 20 – 25 minutes to get out of there. Making me very late for something I was originally early for. Every single car was an issue apparently.
I wont soon return.

The JITB in Swan Island got shutdown so I was timid to revist this infamous chain. However my fond memories of choking down shakes and wiping the grease from the curly fries didn’t keep me away for long.
If your looking to shorten your lifespan and pickup a few clog arteries along the way –LOOK NO FURTHER!
Also, the Mexican Girl (who acts like she runs the place at nite) likes to wear her button shirt very loosely. Hint Hint to all you guys! (Drop your change so she attempts to grab it.) Be warn tho this is fast food joint and they’re usually a bunch of cows working the place. And they have very little tolerance for shinanigins
