J Mo’s Sandwich Shack

Great place, great sandwiches. I’ve had three different selections and all of them were pretty damn good. The Dirty Mo, the Chicken Parm, and the Roast Beef. These things are HUGE. Dirty Mo is basically a whole plate of Spaghetti and meatballs in a sandwich. Yay gluttony! Delicious. Very friendly service every time I order, even delivering to my apartment in the pouring rain with a smile and good vibe. Definitely check these guys out.

J Mo’s is the best! My partner and I normally grab a few sandwiches to go. The Chicken Parm is top notch. Delicious rosemary really present in the chicken breading. The Sausage & Peppers was outstanding– really good quality meat in both sandwiches! We are looking forward to trying the Italian next! The owner himself goes the extra mile for his customers and you can tell he takes pride in his work! I would recommend it to anyone! He also delivers for larger orders so consider it for a business lunch!

We ordered the turkey sandwich and chicken parm sandwich and it was lack luster to say the least. There was just something off about both sandwiches that just didn’t sit right. We had it delivered from Grub Hub so maybe the time between the conception and delivery was just a little much.

Problem: you’re craving spaghetti and garlic bread but are too damn lazy to make it yourself.
Solution: The «Dirty Mo» from J Mo’s Sandwich Shack. Big olé’ meatballs & spaghetti tossed with ‘sghetti sauce, topped w/​mozzarella & basil and sandwiched into thick crusty garlic bread. WINNING.
New Problem: How on earth are you going to manage the bike ride home with a belly full of this beast?

I had the Italian and my friend had the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich. Both were ridiculously delicious. The guy working there was super nice — he even brought our sandwiches out to us (instead of making us stand in the rain waiting for them) and later came by to check on us. Will definitely be back. One of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve had, btw.

My partner and I stopped in there about a month ago and they got The Dirty Mo. Holy wow! I’ve pondered the idea of portable spaghetti and meatballs before but the execution was always sloppy and ended in disaster. When we found out someone had actually done it we drove there immediately. It’s like a work of art and it tastes like heaven. If you’re having a bad day and want to cry tears of joy try a Dirty Mo. You’ll leave with a full belly and a saucy grin from ear to ear.

My wife and I stopped with family at the carts on foster and with the many options we had we went to J Moe’s. I had the chx parm and my wife had the dirty mo … Both were made fresh and the gravy was out of this world !!! I have eaten all over the world and J’s can stand with the best of them !!

Having been raised in New Jersey on a steady supply of the proper Italian food, I have to say J Mo’s is the real deal! I’ve lived in Portland for 7 years and have searched high and low for the meatball sub’s I grew up with. Although several Portland establishments have come close, ONLY J Mo’s brings me back to my youth. I will have to hold myself back from visiting daily!

Yumm! We had the steak sandwich and the chicken parm samdwich, both fresh and delicious! Going back asap!

This food cart is amazing. Get the dirty mo. How can you not fall in love with a cart who makes a meatball sandwich with spaghetti on it. You have my attention that’s for sure. The $ 2 off check in offer was awesome too! And the owner is friendly and has a lot of personality. I really like what this cart has going on.

Great steak sandwich nicely seasoned with super fresh ingredients. J Mo has a solid attitude with a passion and it shows in his food. Go visit his cart on Foster you won’t be disappointed.

Once again, I had one of the best sandwiches ever! let me tell ya, if your looking for fast food, don’t come here because he cooks everything up fresh. I had the chicken parm, which takes a little bit cooked from scratch but is soooo worth the little wait. It is such a filling sandwich that I actually had enough left over for lunch the next day and it was just as delicious… I cant wait to try the next thing on the menu as I work my way trough it. yummy

Awesome special today! Garlic, butter, cheesy bread from a local bakery filled with Italian sausage, bell peppers, onions and… homemade marinara sauce. YUMMY!

So good! The Dirty Mo was huge. Probably the best meatball sub in town… And trust me I’ve been looking.

Found the J Mo’s on Groupon and was pumped to see that it was located at the nearby Foster Carts (how long have I been missing out?!). Rolled up to the joint and the owner Jason informed me he was set to make a big catering order downtown, but would be back in 45 min. Told me they could deliver to my house and hit me with a coupon for $ 5 off my online order. I was pretty surprised to see J Mo was the actual driver that delivered my sandwich and overall I had a great first impression of the guy. Super friendly and you can tell he is passionate about his grind.
Went basic on the order for my first try and got the Italian sandwich with a side salad. I give the food 4 stars, but the service brings it up to a 5. I was rather impressed that the side salad carried some weight to it and didn’t take 3 – 4 bites to finish. It was jam-​packed in the to-​go box.
Pretty excited to branch out and try more options on the menu. Read some good things about the meatballs. Hope this place sticks around the neighborhood, I’ll be back within days.
