Went fishing with Larry for my son’s high school graduation. There were three of us and we all had an amazing day. He is very knowledgeable about the area and had us on fish in the first half hour! I have been on several guided trips across the country and I found the little details that Larry always took care of really sets him above the rest. We had an absolutely AMAZING day with Larry! We had both never been Sturgeon fishing before so this was a new experience for us. We went in January with a somewhat low expectation of catching much. Instead we were incredibly surprised at all the action all day; we hardly had a chance to take a photo with the fish before we had another bite! It was definitely the most fun we have had on a fishing trip. Larry is extremely experienced and made the whole day feel like we were just fishing with old friend. I cannot wait to book another trip with him when we are back in OR.

Larry is awesome! WE went out between Christmas and New Year’s. It was raining and cold. He had a cover to keep dry and a space heater for warmth. He was completely prepared and ready for us at arrival. We came with 4 kids. Yikes! Larry was fantastic with them. We caught around 20 fish (obviously this is not guaranteed). But what we did see was other boats around us not catching nearly as many, or any. Meanwhile our kids were reeling them in. Larry helps as little or as much as you want. So some of the kids he set the hook and the older ones were able to watch a pole themselves and do the entire thing. All in all an amazing sturgeon trip!

Larry took my Dad and I out to catch salmon in the Columbia river and we had a blast! We each caught our limit of fish and I was able to pull in the largest salmon I have ever caught. Larry is a class act and we could not have had a better experience.

Just got back from fishin with Larry ! Great boat great gear and great great fish! He knows the Columbia and knows his fish! After landing 4 steelhead between 6 and 10 pounds and a 20+ chinook salmon that we had to let go I’ll be back next year ! Thanks again to hook’em up guides with Larry Kesch jr!

Just got back from spending the day with Captain Larry at Hook em Up Guide Services. We stumbled across him on the internet and were hooked. Definitely glad that we made the decision that we did, as we all had a blast! Ended the day catching three 18 lbs Chinook Salmon, although we only were able to keep one, and more than enough Shad to keep us entertained for the entire time. Definitely recommend Larry, we knows the Columbia, as he has been fishing it for almost two decades. This man knows where the fish are at!

I found Larry through Unilocal as I was heading to POrtland for a guys wknd via Idaho and Denver. Though the fish were being stubborn, I did catch a nice salmon and Larry did his best to find the spot for us. It looked as if it was pretty much hit and miss on the other boats too. I have zero complaints for the service Larry offered and will hit him up again in August to try to fish a different area. Thanks Larry for Everything!

My wife and I had a terrific time. Captain Larry was great. He taught us so much and was really patient with me as a novice. We have already began planning our next adventure with Larry to go crabbing in Tillamook in October. Larry knows the rivers and puts you right were the fish are. Look no further.

I went on my very first fishing trip with Larry at Hook’em Up Guide Service and had an amazing time. He is an outstanding guide who is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. I caught several fish including a 22lb salmon. It was an experience I will never forget and I look forward to going again. I highly recommend booking a trip with Larry!

I went out with Hookem Up and Wow was I impressed. Captain Larry was so knowledgeable of the Rivers as well as the heritage of the Pacific Northwest. I was also blown away by his big, beautiful, heated boat and the fact that he was just an all around nice guy and a pleasure to fish with. Thanks Captain Larry & Hookem Up for the amazing trip and the 2 Beautiful Spring Salmon you sent me home with. Time of my Life ! I’ll be doing it again with you soon.

My daughter and I have fished with Larry for three years now and will keep calling him every time we are in town. He’s always ready to go in the morning with all the equipment and gear needed. His boat is clean and reliable and well stocked with heat and a top. Larry knows the fishery and always has us on big fish and lots of them. He’s great with my 14 year old daughter and had her hooking and catching a 5′ sturgeon within hours of getting in the boat.

A buddy of mine and I from South Texas did a last minute trip with Larry. It was awesome, I told him I wanted a 50 lb sturgeon and soon as we anchor up first fish was spot on. He probably has some sort of fish catching magical powers because he put us in the action all day long. We could not ask for a better trip or guide. I would absolutely go fishing with Larry again and highly recommend using him to anyone who wants to catch fish, or even just catch a buzz.
