Good idea to call this place Home — when the owners are there, that’s what it feels like. Great food(burgers! the steak sandwich!), comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and ownership, surprisingly easy parking(for what I would have expected from that area on a Thu/Fri/Sat night) and plenty of room for you and all your friends. This place is new and I’ll be sad when the day arrives that I can’t find even one seat at the bar, but do yourself a solid and go check it out. It’s a great under-the-radar spot for bar-sitters who dig a welcoming vibe without any pretense or nonsense.

Incredible happy hour food. I both live and work in this neighborhood, so I am well acquainted with all of the nearby establishments. The dirty burger and the grilled mac & cheese sandwich are both ‘out of this world’ amazing. Both are available for cheap during happy hour. The owners are incredibly friendly, and will attempt to make conversation with you. Molly is one of the best bartenders in the city. Overall the vibe is incredibly welcoming, which is not especially common in other bars in this neighborhood. The booze options are standard, and not overly priced, which is a bonus. Add«Home» to your list of must-see bars in SE Portland.

I went here with some friends and was pleasantly surprised! The bartender was attentive and the owner was very friendly. The area where the pinball machines are is great for escaping some of the bustle of the bar/floor area. Good array of beers on tap, and cheap pounders too. I know it’s a bar but I was hoping for a bit more greenery on the menu! Will definitely come back here.

First tried yesterday. Friendly bartender. I had a hard time finding food cuz I am vegan but they changed up the seitan burger for me to exclude dairy but add grilled mushrooms(which really set off the flavor). It felt like they were hosts, rather than staff. My two carnivorous friends agreed it tasted really good. The menu reads like pub grub/burger faire, but the waffle fries were crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and the bun was yummy too so maybe the other pubs should take note. Also, read a review for tempura veggies but must’ve missed that, so I hope it’s on their appetizer/late-night menu or something when I go back. I got the stout, the only dark beer on draft, was good though — and they had like 7 – 10 draft options, including Pfriem so my buddies were satisfied. Booths, tables, bar space, dark but could see fine, arcade, super-cozzZy couch and an new/clean bathroom with soft TP ;) Would recommend for hangouts or wanderbys. If I lived in the neighborhood, it’d be my spot.

I stopped in after an interview in the neighborhood. Met the owners who were tending bar and making up recipes. They were both super friendly. Tried a couple beers before I settled on one, which the bartender helped me narrow down. Food all looked and sounded amazing, I will definitely be back! Having been here a couple times I can say this is a great spot. They now have pinball for 25 cents on a couple old school machines. I got the tempura battered veggies and was very impressed.

I enjoy a good dive bar on occasion. But this one is a strange mix of fancy & divey that just didn’t meet expectations. SERVICE Mediocre. We stood waiting at the near-empty bar for several minutes without being acknowledged by the bartender. When she did turn to us, after finishing a conversation with her buddies at the bar, she was very nice and bubbly and genuine. But nothing was made clear about how we’d be getting served, where we should order, i.e. how to be a customer. AMBIANCE Fun & diverse. There’s a section of board games and couches, high tables for cocktails and appetizers, low tables for a meal, barside, and a corner to play darts. FOOD Not great. A place that hand forms its burgers that can’t accommodate a request for anything less than«well done» just isn’t the place for me. Fries are waffled, the very thin and crunchy type. Apart from the meager burger options, the menu is small, and includes mostly cheesy dishes, plenty of bacon stuff, and typical dive bar foods. DRINKS We only got beers and ciders. The options were limited, but there is a full bar.

Typically I wait until I have gone a few times to a newly opened place to offset any just opened glitches that may occur and let them get in their groove. But my first experience at this joint that has been only open a few weeks was good enough to post immediately! I wrapped up a meeting in the city and rather than fight traffic thought I’d stop in for a bite to eat… Unilocal came to my rescue with a nearby hot and new establishment called HOME. I planned on trying a burger that was favorably reviewed but changed my mind when I saw the tasty steak sandwich. Thinly sliced steak smothered with onions and I swapped out the cheese to be my preferred cheddar(normally it comes with Swiss) on a local bakery roll, thanks to Clay the cook for the tasty preparation. You can choose to have a salad instead of fries with no up charge(always my preference). D-lish! The bartender kacee was attentive and kept both my water and alcoholic beverage always full. While they didn’t have a Pinot Gris,(my go to wine), they did offer a j roget bubbly split., and really doesn’t bubbly go well with everything, including steak sandwiches?(Were i a beer or liquor drinker there were plenty of selections as well, but I am not.)The place was comfortable and welcoming… some enjoyed watching one of the many Tvs(none blaring too loudly thankfully) and others were enjoying conversation at the bar. No one was playing darts just yet, perhaps a bit early, otherwise I may have challenged hem to a game of cricket. Bathrooms were clean… and had local artwork displayed! I even had the chance to meet the menu creator and owner Scott who was hospitable and friendly and graciously shared his story of how he went from food cart to catering to own bar upon my many questions. I want to go back and check it out again so I can try a pint of cider and poutine(how very québécois!) and will do so on a weekend night to check out the vibe then. Initial thoughts were positive and a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

Rip Moho, but omg Home! You can tell they are still getting their legs, but the food alone is insane. I had a Dirty Blue without the bun. They will put onto a bed of mixed greens. So juicy topped with bacon and blue cheese. Added a squirt of sriracha in the dirty sauce for a little kick with the fries and washed it down with a large Bulleit Bourbon. Cool bartenders. Oh and thank you for redoing the bathrooms. I used to hold it.

I always enjoyed the Moho as a divey bar, so I was worried about what would become of this place. I am so happy the revamp is cool and comfortable, and the food is awesome. You will NOT go home hungry. Had the Dirty Fries with added Jalepeno, mushroom and blue cheese suggested by the chef. Holy Moly. See picture!
