My husband and I stumbled on this place by accident, and loved it. He loves Philly cheese steak, and got a huge sensational one. Our server was extremely warm and friendly and the atmosphere wonderful — rich, warm, relaxing. If we lived in the Portland area we would come here often.

Fun atmosphere, delicious food… amazing service. Henry’s took the 9 of us in on a busy Sunday night, after 2 other places turned us away. Thank goodness they did ! We loved Henry’s the minute we got there. The food is comfort food with a twist. A little bit of everything from American café food to Chinese ! Wings were served with a ridiculously delicious blue cheese coleslaw. The steak salad & ahi tuna salad had many different layers of flavors. Even the Kung Pao chicken stood out. Huge portions as well. The beer & drink menu were outstanding. The icing on the cake was our server Zach. He was helpful with suggestions, and very fun and friendly too.

Found a table in the bar and after a brief discussion with Stacy I settled on with the double Chocolate and knowing the full feeling described to her that I was in need of something light. She recommended the ahi, bring it. Atmosphere is great considering that they have over a 150 taps to drool over. Quick service ambiance and the food fantastic. Would stop in again in a heart beat.

Love me some Henry’s! It had been a few years since I last visited Henry’s, being a mother and years of non downtown partying have led to me other places, but my girls and I hit the town for a final hooray before my departure and I couldn’t think of a better place. The vibe is always great here, whether you’re having dinner or doing the bar scene. It’s always loud, but in a fun way. The have live music, games, great food & drinks. We had a party of 6. We ordered everything from the Mac ‘n cheese to the Mac ‘n cheese burger to Gorgonzola fries to tacos. Everything AMAZING! I will say one thing in particular though, and that is if you’ve never been to Henry’s or have never had the pleasure of biting into their Gorgonzola fried then your life is not yet complete…

The drinks and food are a bit pricey due to the location and a hotspot for tourists. My friends and I always share the gorgonzola fries. It can be salty but it goes great with a nice cold beer. I believe their beer menu rotates. There is an upstairs balcony area where you can hang out for more a lounge feel. Also, there’s outdoor seating. Great place to watch some sports. The staff is also very friendly.

There’s a lot of the usual American fried food here. My favorite would be the ahi salad. The mango delivers a natural sweet dressing. The avocado balance out the tart and the tuna brings it home. Pair it with a delicious bloody mary and have a guilt free night. Like this review if I just made your night.

My first meal in Portland was at Henry’s 12th Street Tavern. This was a recommendation from a customer and it did not disappoint. It was a pub atmosphere, but when I saw the menu I knew I wasn’t just at any pub. I had the Ahi Tuna and Mongolian Beef. It was the best Mongolian Beef I have ever eaten and the service was excellent. The vibe of the restaurant was also great. If you visit Portland(especially if you like good beer), Henry’s 12th Street Tavern is a must.

I had not been to Henry’s in a long time. I was attending a play at the Gerding Theater, 1 block away. I easily made OpenTable reservations for 3, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered 2 entries and split them among the 3 of us. The large portions of salmon and chicken were moist, tender, perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were unusual and delicious. I really thought I was done with mashed potatoes, but I loved these. The asparagus was also a large portion and cooked just right. I will return.

This is probably one of my favorite places in Portland. It’s not too fancy, it’s just a casual tavern to hang out with friends or meet new people. The atmosphere and the environment is great. It’s located in the pearl district so it definitely is a great representation of Portland night life or day time shopping. Parking can be tricky. Street parking is limited but there are numerous of parking decks around that makes life easier. The food here is delicious! I have never ordered something I did not like. their sandwiches are all to die for and their appetizers are worth ordering. I don’t eat cheese, but they say the cheese here is great. When ordering the soft pretzels, order the nutella dipping sauce. It’s heavy and it will just melt in your mouth. It’s fantastic! They also have wok inspired options which is also all so delicious. I would know, I am wok inspired myself. :)

Henry’s 12th is a decent spot, and i’d bring out of town guests here possibly, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this establishment on my own. The food here is pretty good. My dining companion and I shared the wings and the macaroni and cheese and, because I was expecting mediocre bar food, I was pleasantly surprised when everything was made nicely and tasted good. High marks on food! Their beer selection, while plenty, seems predicable and safe. You will find a lot of the heavy hitters that you’ve no doubt already tried before, e.g. Ninkasi, Lagunitas and Stone, with very few seeming fresh and interesting. I personally like trying a new beer each time I go out. I know a lot of people love their old reliable brew, but that’s just my preferred method. Many people will likely find their selection to be wonderful. Service is mixed. On the same day, one server/bartender was extremely friendly and attentive while the other one seemed like we were bothering him if there was a question about their beer or asking for ranch instead of blue cheese. We weren’t high maintenance;he just wasn’t very nice. Their beer chilling rail is pretty smart too, but probably not enough to give more stars.

Henrys is a great neiborhood spot for dining. This was my first time sitting at the bar at Henrys and it was a great experience. The bartenders were super busy on this Saturday night, but they did check back often, filling water, asking if everything was ok. The food was alright, I had the cheeseburger and fries. Not bad for around $ 15, a little on the high side for a budget conscious individual. It was pretty filling and full of veggies. I would highly recommend Henrys Tavern for a night out with friends or sitting solo at the bar.

Henry’s certainly has a lot of beer and lots of seating here. I don’t think the food or the beer blew me away but I did enjoy the gorgonzola fries as well as my salad. Although the beer selections were on the majority very impressive, I actually wanted to try a Henry’s on orange flavored cream soda, on draft if possible. I see those products in supermarkets and specialty beverage stores all the time but not in a Henry’s restaurant? I was kind of bummed. What saved our night was our server who was very enthusiastic, friendly, and gave us updates on our food the whole night. Although it did take about a half hour for us to get our food for five of us, it wasn’t that bad of a wait with her attentiveness. Henry’s reminds me of the Yardhouse chain, a prominent California brewhouse/restaurant where they play loud music and offer over 100 beers on tap. The music is loud like a club and makes it hard to have a conversation in there. Henry’s also had their bar area turn into a club as well. Unlike the Yardhouse, Henry’s does have a better service experience and they do take reservations too. I’m glad I went to Henry’s and may stop by again if I was ever in town again.

Happy Hour ALLDAYSUNDAY! Gorgonzola Fries is a MUST… buy an order or 2 or 3. Your stomach will hate you later for it, but your taste buds will certainly enjoy it. It wasn’t busy on a Sunday. Upstairs in the bar area are these booths with individual tvs in them for your party. Pool table is up there too.

Absolutely delectable turkey burger with gorgonzola-smothered waffle fries. I don’t really remember breathing nor talking much during this meal .I was way too busy inhaling the bounty of beer and burger laid forth before me. On my recent three night birthday-beer-cation. Henry’s was the highlight.

This is one of my favorite places in Portland to eat and drink at when I visit. We met some friends from the area and had a few drinks and dinner and had a great time. My husband had never been and he really liked the BEERS, the ICELEDGE to sit the beer on at the bar and the food we ordered. I love the dark woods, the homey feel and the fact that you feel like you are in the midst of where it is cool to hang out. It has a great space, but does get packed in the evenings. In the summer, they have the patio for the spill over, but even then… The place is huge, but it is always slammed. The beers are so icy cold though and I love it. Check it out! Highly Recommended.

Stopped by the Columbia Flagship Store to check it out(nothing too exciting). Guess I was expecting it to have anything and everything Columbia has to offer and that wasn’t the case, but anyways, I asked a store employee where I should eat as an out-of-towner and he recommended Henry’s. They have a TON of great beer to choose from and a lot of it comes from the west coast so I of course had to try some local brews. I decided on the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat from Eureka, CA and it was an excellent choice. I had a burger from some hole-in-the-wall place in at one of my companies’ properties in Sunnyside, WA so I decided to check out the Philly. It wasn’t all that appealing to the eye and after one bite, I was comparing it to my favorite spots back home in Minneapolis. These had no chance against my top 3 favorite places and I probably wouldn’t order it again if I stopped by during another visit to Portland. I would however take another Lone Coast! Have fun with their beer selection, but definitely try something different you can’t get in other parts of the U.S. or wherever you might be from. It’s more of a 2.5 star for me. Certainly not the worst meal I’ve ever had, but I’ve definitely experienced better… #knowbeforeyougo

I went here for a birthday dinner a few weeks ago. We had a reservation for 8 and were seated promptly. Our waiter was awesome and he joined in on many of our conversations! I split the BLTA sandwich which was really good! I also ordered the hummus. I don’t recommend the hummus… At the end of dinner, the waiter brought out some sort of chocolate cake/ice cream dessert for the birthday girl that was amazing! After dinner we went upstairs which is more of a bar scene. There was a dj but the music was way too loud. We couldn’t hear what each other were saying.

Henry’s 12th Street Tavern was rather ordinary … definitely not the best or the worst. Maybe 12th best. A gang of 7 of us popped in for some late night drinks and pub grub. We staked out some tables outside and a pretty perky(I mean pretty & perky) server bounced over and took our drink orders. Any place that has Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial Ale($ 7 — 9% ABV) on draft has simplified my order process. Keep ‘em comin’ … for about 90 minutes is about right. Gah, I love this beer even if it isn’t a Portland local brew. Gorgonzola Waffle Fries($ 10.95) sounded a whole lot cooler than they tasted. The Gorgonzola wasn’t very gorgonzoly and the Fries were kind of mushy. Pass on these and get the Fried Cheese Curds instead. There are plenty of bars in downtown Portland in which to drink your night and liver away. Henry’s 12th Street Tavern isn’t really special at all, but it happens to be one on 12th Avenue. If you are there, consider it to be in the top 12 options.

We were traveling on Thanksgiving and this was one of the only places open in downtown Portland so we gave it a shot. They have a restaurant section and bar section with televisions for sports watching. We sat in the bar to watch some football and get some food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting on a cold Portland day. We started with beers and my husband had the Portland beer flight which was four pretty decent sized beers. He enjoyed them and I stuck with my Hefeweizen. They offered a Thanksgiving spread for around $ 23 a person, but we just went with a few appetizers from their menu. We chose the ahi tuna sushi roll, buffalo wings, and the poutine waffle fries. I can’t speak for the tuna roll because that is not my cup of tea, but the husband said it was just ok. He said he probably shouldn’t have ordered it at a bar. The buffalo wings were spicy and had blue cheese crumbles on them that gave them a bit of a creamy/tangy taste. The star of the night were the poutine waffle fries. They were scrumptious! They were covered in gorgeous gravy with peppers and onions with cheese curds. The fries were crisp and had great seasoning on them. We could have eaten these all night. Overall, this was a great place to hang out, eat, and drink some beer while everything else was closed. I would come back anytime for those fries.
