Do not be taken back by the poor condition of the strip mall. THEFOODISREALLYGOOD! I travel all over the country and eat Thai at least once a week. Although it is not the prettiest the new owners are ready to talk make you feel at home and serve great food. The owners are a couple. She cooks and he takes care of the front of the house. Here’s the funny part… the husband is a 6 foot Oregonian with a baseball hat and cowboy boots on but… very very nice and knows his Thai. His wife is Thai and the whirlwind in the kitchen Gretchen food, nice folks and super prices. If you staying near the Portland airport the place is a mile away. Quick healthy and good. Give it a try.

Lovely outside picnic area ! Friendliest owner and wait staff too. Beautiful dishes and fancy utensils are very much appreciated. The owner and chef was thoughtful enough to ask us how we were enjoying our dinner. I just let him know I like vegetables a little more cooked than they were. We will definitely be back! Thank you Orm :-)

Me and a few coworkers came to this place today for lunch. It may not look like much from the outside but WOW it was great! The food was fantastic and the owner served us directly. He shared stories with is about him and his wife; great host. We will be coming back again and again!

For a while I despaired of this Thai restaurant based solely on the extremely slow service. This place is very close to my office, but it was impossible to get in and out for lunch in under an hour because the waitstaff was so slow, so I stopped going. But due to a special occasion, a bunch of us from the office went back. It’s under new ownership now, and the service got loads better. Not top notch, but definitely speedier, and I think they will get even better as time goes on. I have never had any complaints about the food, and still don’t. I’ve done pad Thai that was always delicious, and this time they were offering a crab fried rice lunch special that I jumped on, and it was to die for. My coworkers had various stir frys and curries, and everyone had glowing reports about their meals. If the service has stopped you from visiting or returning, maybe give these guys another shot. I’m still a little wary based on past experiences, but some of my faith has been restored in Heavenly Thai.

Hidden Gem for sure. Came here on a lunch date. Recommended by her work friend. We could have easily driven past and not known about the awesome food. H. T. is tucked away in an older plaza. Not a lot of curb apeal but Inside is the pearl. Clean and lagit looking. Got in before the lunch crowd so our order was fast. Started out with two orders of Salad Rolls, one of each kind. Comes with a sweet n sour sauce and then another one of some pretty killer peanut sauce. So yummy I had to take a pic. Then we ate every last bite. My date got the Medium Spicey Chicken. I thought it was super spicey but good. She ate it up but said it was kinda hot for her but she really liked it. I had the Lemon Grass Chicken. I liked the peanut sauce a lot. Could have eaten another cup of just sauce, easily. Lots of vegies and rice. Great dish. Looking forward to trying other menu items. Great service. Ask about happy hour /lunch prices. We thought our bill was going to be about $ 10.00 more than it was.(We would have paid the higher price. It was that good!)

Went at lunch(11÷7÷14) and took OVERANHOUR to get our food. I’ve been here before so I brought a coworker and was upset that his first experience will probably be his last. My other coworkers were there as well and they said it took them forever to get their food too. There is ONE server and she was literally bringing the dishes out one at a time. I’ve been here before and the service hasn’t been this bad. Upsetting too because I love thai food and there isn’t many places that are decent in this area.

Good food. But don’t go at lunch if you are on your lunch break. It’s quite possibly the slowest lunch service I’ve ever received. Took an hour to get pad Thai. Never again.

Love this place. Me and my boyfriend came here a couple of times. GREATSERVICE and the food was DECENT. I wouldn’t say it was horrible because the nice people made up for it. But it can be a little pricey considering if you go down the street you could get a 3 course meal for 8 bucks. Lol. TRYIT!

A hidden gem in the northeast Portland area. Let’s be honest, north north east Portland does not have the best selection of restaurants. It’s on sandy street, sorta in the ghetto, looks sketchy on the outside, but low and behold it is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly, the inside is decorative, and they have delicious thai food.

We were starving as we arrived at PDX, found this place due to good reviews; it is a hole in the wall, but don’t judge a restaurant by how it looks from the outside. Food is delicious, service is fast and friendly, prices are reasonable, portions are large, and the place is clean and aptly decorated. Would definitely come here again!

This place wasn’t too shabby… I found the food to be nothing more than just good olé regular thai not too extraordinary. But the service was excellent, we felt welcome and comfortable. The food had quite a kick too which can always be good with my palate. Will be going back, but not a place I’d consider being a regular at.

We were hungry after spending a few hours at Costco. Hotdogs and pizzas were not on our palate. So we used Unilocal to find the nearest restaurant around the area. We decided on thai food. We were lost at first. It was difficult to find the place. It was just a «hole in a wall’ in a not so enticing shopping plaza by Costco on Sandy Blvd. We didn’t know what to order. So we stuck with what we know, pad thai noodles, curry, etc., Since there was just the two of us, we ordered a plate of drunken noodles and red curry. Both with beef. Of course, we also got Thai iced tea. The red curry came out smelling really good. As our mouth were salivating, the rice came in a heart shape(which was to my niece’s delight) and the drunken noodles were a bit too sweet for our taste but it was still good nevertheless. The portion was pretty generous. We ended up packing up the rest of our food for a late dinner. My niece really loved the thoughtfulness in the heart shaped rice and this little gesture definitely gets us coming back for more in the future. We also noticed the extensive lunch menu. All for $ 7 on chicken & beef. $ 9 for seafood. Hopefully the next Costco expedition ends at noon!

Just ate at Heavenly Thai after a quick Costco run, and I was really happy with our experience. Food: This was good food. Not just good for the area or price point, but really, honest-to-goodness solid Thai food! We ordered the tom yum, som tum(papaya salad), and lemongrass chicken. The tom yum was perfect, in my book – not too sweet, with lots of onions, shrimp, mushrooms, and tomatoes. The som tum was a tad too spicy for me(we ordered it medium) but I still could have eaten the whole plate by myself. As far as the lemongrass chicken, it wasn’t what I was expecting, as it came with a peanut sauce over top, but my bf pointed out that that was the description on the menu. Oops, haha. Still, it was yummy, and I don’t regret getting it at all Atmosphere: Though the restaurant is in a rather nondescript strip mall, the interior is clean and open, and I liked the elephant print place mats they had on the tables. There was a tv on in the background, but nothing you couldn’t ignore or talk over. Service: Our waitress was very prompt with getting our orders and refilling our waters, and had just the right level of attentiveness. She was on the younger side(probably in HS) but was great at her job, which is refreshing. If I hadn’t read the reviews on Unilocal first, our experience here would have been a surprise. Instead, it just affirmed what everyone else here has been saying – this place is great! P. S. Also, they have free wifi here for customers – though there was a sort of sketchy-looking couple sitting on the bench outside with their laptop, mooching.

In my honest opinion this place is the best thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. Don’t let the lottery games or the lack of ambiance fool you. This is best thai place to eat! I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine that works not so far from here last year. I’m a huge fan of Pad Kee Mao. Which is a wide noodle that is sauteed with broccoli, carrots, green peppers, and onions in a savory sauce that engulfs the noodle dish with your choice of protein. I believe the translation to this dish in english is called«drunken noodle». The noodles are soaked to perfection where it is still just a little chewy but done right. I guess we could call it the thai equivalent to «Al Dente»! Other dishes I’ve had over the year I have been going here are the Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, Beef Larb, Chicken Satay, and Massuman Curry. All these dishes are equally as good as the drunken noodle. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves thai food. Service here is excellent and prompt as well. I have always found the owners and employees to be very friendly here and on a regular basis willing to go the extra mile for you as a customer. Ignore the poker machines and the lack of ambiance cause if you can’t you will miss out on a great meal!

So according to the cashier/waitress, less than a year ago this place was a little deli in a stripmall with a jukebox & keno TVs. They’ve ditched the jukebox, and added a tv with daytime soaps, some chopsticks, & a little asian décor, but not much else has changed. But I really don’t care what it looks like if it has great food! So if you’re picky on the setting, pass up on this place, otherwise at least give it a try! I went there for lunch & had the obligatory pad thai to compare it to all other thai places I’ve visited. At first I was slightly dismayed by the $ 7 lunch menu(I was hoping for $ 5 – 6), but when the dish came, DAMN! that was the LARGEST plate of pad thai I have ever seen! As for quality, yeah, it was tasty with medium spices, fresh sprouts, and big chunks of quality chicken. It was a little too sugary/sweet, but that’s really my only complaint. I wanted to try the crispy ginger chicken(one of my favorite thai dishes), but I couldn’t justify a $ 12 lunch… maybe next time. Regardless, it’s probably the closest thai restaurant in a 2 mile radius, so it’s worth checking out and seeing if the flavor is up your alley. Prices are about average for dinner($ 9−15/plate), but again, I’d be hoping that quantity made up for any minor deficiencies in quality you might detect.

This place looks like crap. Flourescent lights, video crack den, mini living room set up for the owners in the middle of the restaurant. I think they do a much bigger lunch business. The wife’s nose turned up the second we walked through the door, but I had a good feeling about it. We were both glad we stayed. I had the crispy basil chicken and the wife had ginger/mushroom tofu stir fry. It wasn’t spectacular, but it was different. Not your everyday Thai flavor. — more like home cooking. I wanna go back and try more! It seems like a place that will grow on me.

I’d like to rescind any negative comments I might have had in the last review. Upon further analysis, my complaints about cost are unfounded… I’m just cheap and haven’t realized that prices have risen across the board. Their servings are ample and well worth the money. Their food is delicious, I have tried several dishes and all have improved upon my initial experience. Today it’s mas-sa-man curry, which is SOGOOD!!!
