Great burgers, big portions, good prices. Love how they use different breads(i.e. Ciabatta or Dave’s Killer) for the burgers and breakfast sandwiches. Everything is flavorful and fresh, one of the best burger food carts around!

One of the best food carts in Portland, and the best burger you’ll find in the downtown area. Owners are friendly… the menu is creative without being«high-concept.» Ciabatta rolls are an excellent choice. House-made drinks are a fun add-on for lunch. Five stars.

By far the best food cart burger in Portland. I was amazing. I had the pineapple burger and the bread was amazing and so was the burger. Quite messy but isnt that what makes it good? If your itching for a burger have happy grillmore scratch it.

Angus Teriyaki burger special was good. A little sweet and spicy… Highly recommend food truck, next to Taste of Korea.

One of my favorite carts! I knew I would love them when I saw that they offer havarti as a cheese option… but little did I know just how deep that love would run. It is DEEP, people — deep in my adoring belly! Happy Grillmore has a bit of Hawaiian flair to it, and they add creative little twists to most dishes, but there’s something for everyone. The Chubs(burger), teriyaki burger, and many others, keep me fat and happy… as if I’m… Doin’ the Bull Dance. Feelin’ the flow. Workin’ it. Workin’ it. But seriously… Definitely keep an eye out for the specials — I’ve had some truly kickass stuff — a mindboggling pulled-pork sammy with wasabi slaw, a kalua pork lunch plate, a duckbreast sandwich… check their website and/or twitter account for daily specials. Also, their homemade fruit juices are SO good — usually different blends of lemon or lime and fruits/berries/seasonings. I had a chili-limeade this summer that rocked my face off. These also rotate as specials. The cart owners are wonderful too. Super sweet, making your food with genuine loving care… feeding me and saving me when I get hangry(which is fairly often). Thank you, Happy Grillmore! And as Bob Barker once said, «I don’t want a PIECE of you… I want the whole THING!»

The best sandwich I’ve ever had. I got the John Clasky(? I may have spelled that wrong) which had bacon, a fried egg, cheese, arugala, avocado, and I think a chipotle mayonnaise. I get it every day on my lunch break at work. It’s divine.

I ordered the«Larry,» a pastrami and herb-roasted turkey sandwich with Tillamook pepperjack cheese, arugula, spinach, red pepper aioli, and mustard on multigrain bread($ 6). A very nice, hearty sandwich here. Happy Grillmore doesn’t skimp on the meats, that’s for sure. Great pastrami and turkey here. The spinach was fresh, and the arugula gave the sandwich a lovely bite. The bread was fresh, the nutty texture rounded out a lovely experience. However, the sandwich was a bit dry; I would have liked a bit more aioli and mustard on the sandwich. Perhaps even a juicy tomato slice could have worked here as well. The whole sandwich may have been better off toasted(almost like a grilled cheese sandwich) so that the pepperjack could melt a bit. I do prefer melted cheese over a slice of cheese, but at the same time, I would want more than just a «boring» grilled cheese sandwich. I’d say it’s worth it to try Happy Grillmore for yourself.

BEST food cart BURGEREVER! I have eaten the sandwhiches here on a whim and the were pretty good but nothing special. But holy mole the Teriyaki burger is incredible. They deserve the best cart burger award no questions asked!

Great sandwiches! The chuck is awesome! Super friendly, they overcooked my spam a little on the musubi and when I mentioned it they swapped it out for the best musubi I have ever had, super tender and highly delicious. You need to check this place out. Great friendly service and bomb food

I have a lot of reviewing to catch up on, mostly because of yesterday’s «Cart-a-palooza». I had never been to a food cart(I blame the dog), even though I lived downtown for four years. Here we are, having just moved out of downtown to Beaverton, and we go on a cart tour(I’d say about 12 places). Go figure. First stop, Happy Grillmore. They won me over with the name, and the fact that they were the only cart in this pod that made me want to order something. Basically, how could you not eat at a place called«Happy Grillmore»? Potential copyright infringement aside, this place seems to have a bright future. It’s hard to get a good feel of a sandwich when you have to split it six ways, but it seemed pretty good to me. And, as with most carts, it was inexpensive. We had some good and some bad in our tour, but I’d probably rate this place #5 out of 12 for the day. That’s pretty high, as we had a number of good stops.

I’d been flirting with visiting this food cart for quite a while now due to the proximity to my workplace, so it’s ironic that I finally visited them on my day off! I ordered«the georgie» — a wonderful grilled cheese sammy on «Fleur De Lis» multi-grain bread with Tillamook cheddar, Havarti and brie. It was perfectly melted/toasted, and served with kindness — more than I can say for many Portland businesses. The owners Darren and Kryse recently moved there cart from the ass-side of 3rd and Stark to the front part of this food cart bank on 3rd and Washington near the corner — wise move, or I’d never have known about them. I will be visiting them again to try the burgers, so I’ll be updating this soon.

Great food, and friendly service. Had the Larry, which was one of the better deli-like sandwiches I’ve had. Would definitely stop at again the next time I’m in the area.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! Gotta LOVE Happy Grillmore’s Food! I am actually one of the neighbor food cart people, and I just admire the amazing talent and flavor that is required to make the great food! First taste of Grillmore I ever had was her special, the Posolle? Is that how to spell it? Either way, BEST soup I have EVER had! The Burgers are incredible and a great change from the rest of the food surrounding our two food carts! Thanks Happy Grillmore!

Get some happy grillmore in your life! My favorite special they feature from time to time is their chicken adobo sammie! If you’ve never had adobo(Filipino food-like a marinade) try it-you’ll love it! Also spam musubi’s that they sell regularly are a great snack, if you dont know what that is either, try it! The owners are friendly and real personable, follow them on twitter they update you the day before so you can plan out your meals for the next day-how convenient! Become a regular of happy grillmore you won’t regret it!

EUREKA! I’ve struck probably the best $ 5 burger in the US! Well, I haven’t been to all 50 states but from Hawaii to Seattle to Portland to SF to LA to SD and eastward to NY and everywhere I’ve been to in between, this has got to be the best $ 5 burger I’ve ever had! I needed to run errands downtown and even though I wasn’t hungry, I thought I’d stop by Built to Grill on 3rd& Stark to see what all the hype was about. After a couple minutes of perusing their menu, I opted to pass and try it on another ocassion. I just wasn’t feeling pasta that afternoon. So, I walked around the corner and saw a line for Happy Grillmore. Going over the menu I noticed they had Hawaiian foods such as Portugese sausage/eggs/fried rice, and spam musubi’s. Awesome! Now I know where to go in downtown for the local breakfast of my hometown. Everything on the menu sounded great and I couldn’t decide what to get. What really stood out on the menu, though, was the«Chubs». It’s a 1⁄3 lbs angus beef patty, cheese, spinach, arugula, and a yummy special sauce served up on a Fleur De Lis ciabatta roll. I decided to add bacon for only $.50 more, which is a steal considering most«gourmet» burger joints charge $.75-$ 1.00. While the burger was being cooked, I got into a conversation with the owner, Kristy(spelling?). It’s weird because I randomly met her and her husband a few months back at a Mexican restaurant in Beaverton. They told me they had a food cart back then and I didn’t realize it was this one ’til we got to talking. She’s a great person and very friendly. Now these are the type of establishments I love to support. Getting back to the burger now. The thing was pretty hefty, probably weighing in at about a pound. First bite was spectacular! All the flavors meshed so well. The textrure of the ciabatta was superb, slightly crispy on the outside but airy and fluffy on the inside. Add to that the burger, cheese, spinach and sauce and you got yourself the best $ 5 burger out there! I kid you not! If you haven’t tried Happy Grillmore yet, you don’t know what you’re missing out on. If you’re a burger fanatic like I am, you’ll absolutely love the«Chubs». It really is a gourmet burger without the gourmet price! Give them a go and you’ll be glad you did. They’re around the corner on 3rd& Stark. Happy Grillmore, you make me HAPPY and I want you to GRILLMORE for me! Yum…

While I’m not big on Adam Sandler movies, when I heard about this cart, I wanted to go since it seemed like a fun place to get some lunch. I didn’t get to have anything with a Sandler-related name other than the spam musubi(«The Henry Roth»). I mainly was there for a burger. Tey had a teriyaki burger special(no name for it sadly). It was tasty but I thought the brioche bun was too large for the patty. However, I gobbled my food up. The woman running the cart told me that the teriyaki sauce they use was homemade; I appreciate stuff like that. I also got a good freshly made cherry lemonade. In all, they have a decent cart and I may, one day, get some of that«high-quality H20» that they offer.

Got some food from Happy Grillmore when Built to Grill was mysteriously closed. I had a Wendy’s «where’s the beef?» moment when I unwrapped my Chubs(beef patty on ciabatta) — the patty itself was the perfect size, but the bread was waaayy too big for it. It had cheddar and arugula on it, and the arugula was a nice change from the typical limp lettuce I get on my sandwiches and burgers, although a little overwhelming at times. Otherwise, it was a perfectly acceptable lunch and while I probably won’t be running back for seconds, they’re definitely worth a try!

The menu isn’t extensive but still I had a hard time choosing as nearly everything on it looked good. In the end I chose the Sonny Koufax(egg, bacon, spinach, arugula, spicy sauce) and it was great. A little hard to eat while walking down the street with the perfectly gooey egg seeping out of the sandwich, but so worth it! I’m not sure what the sauce was on the sandwich but it added a great kick to the other components. It was well worth $ 5(which is the price of most menu items). One very refreshing aspect of this food cart is that they do NOT have a deep fryer. And Darren & Kryse(owners) are such a friendly pair. Make sure to ask for a punch card, too. Also, if you’re tight on time for lunch, you can call in your order ahead of time to have it ready for pick up.
