I order the chicken sub from here. Let me tell you … It is so juicy and made to perfection. I am a super fry head and they give you a nice amount. I am very upset that I do not live up street anymore. Grant’s would always bell me out when I didn’t want to cook after a long days work. I recommend them, highly …

Let me start out by saying Im not a big beef eater. When i do eat meat, im quite fussy. Im easily grossed out by most beef, unless it is a tender filet… With that being said, these cheesesteaks are fantastic. Im actually salvating just thinking about them. Not one piece of that meat was rubbery, stringy, or tough. Just tender, flavorful finely ground chunks of steak. My recommendation is to get the CREAMCHEESEPHILLY. OMG. JUSTDOIT. I like them even better than the delicious cheesesteaks in Philadelphia and thats saying a LOT… Id also like to add that the staff is extremely kind and sincere. They treat their customers well and you can tell they truly appreciate your business. All in all, this place makes me and my belly very happy. I love Grants!!! Keep up the good work. ***ONEMORETHING! Ive been with Unilocal for a few years, but never bothered to write a review. I mostly use it as a tool to decide where to eat. Grants was so good(2 visits) that it made me want to write a review.

If it wasn’t for good sandwiches I wouldn’t come here to eat anymore. Small inside, nice people and pretty laid back. The atmosphere isn’t the greatest. It’s a little like going to grandma’s house. The chips they serve with the sandwiches are forgettable. The pricing could stand to be a little more aggressive. It’s just too expensive. But at least the sandwiches themselves are good. Worth it? Depends on how much you’re craving a good steak sub. Theirs happen to be pretty good.

Grant’s, it’s good! I eat here almost every day. Take my advice: let your sandwich drippings fall on the chips and eat them last!

Most over priced, slow«fast food — to go» order I have ever had. Tried to call ahead and order but couldn’t get through. While I was waiting I didn’t even hear the phone ring for orders or see anyone on a phone taking orders. I arrived at 11:45 and had to wait for two other Odets to be taken before mine. I ordered the Portland w/large fry and a soda. $ 20.75 I couldn’t believe what I heard. Then there was no where to sit even for the dine in customers. All the tables(6) where taken. Mostly by one person. The sandwich was excellent. The fries where burnt to a crisp and so where their home made chips that come with the sandwich. There prices are are way over where they should be and the service speed was pathetic. The people serving and working where very nice. But I am a paid professional and if I made my customers wait extra for a bad product I wouldn’t have a job. I vote with my feet.

Best cheesesteak I have had in Portland. I believe it was the peppers that took up to the next level for me. Thank you Grants

I don’t understand the race for over priced mediocre sandwiches. When I am in the mood for steak sandwiches, I am going to drive that extra mile to Steakadelphia.

I stopped here after finding this place on Unilocal. It’s close to my job & so I decided to go here on my lunch break. The sandwich itself was ok, definitely not amazing, not really good, but not horrible. The prices are ridiculous & the location is weird. I thought maybe it would be an awesome sandwich being that the prices are ridiculous & the location abstract but no it was less than mediocre. The actual building & ppl there are very pleasant & charming once you get inside. The first time I decided to go there I actually didn’t stop once I seen where it was; right off the busy road in the middle of nothing — right next to medical marijuana dispensary. I’m sure that could account for a lot of business! Lol! Probably will never go back.

Great food a little pricy but well worth it fresh ingredients the owners are super nice and the tiny atmosphere is refreshing wish they were open on the weekend at this location though.

Having spent my entire life in Philly, I can say this is the most authentic Cheese Steak in the Portland area. Wish it was closer in.

probably the best Philly sandwich you will find in Portland. Friendly staff and great food. Ambience is small and crowded during the peak hours.

Greasy, small narrow mushy roll, I swear it was swiss instead of provolone. most awful cheese steak I have ever eaten and I have been eating them for 40 years… these photos don’t look anything like the sandwiches we got for $ 13.50 including a handful of chips. we ate a couple bites, rolled it up and tossed it… NEVERAGAIN… go to Tom’s Pizza and Sports Bar on 181st if you are in the area… stay away from this gross place on Sandy. Save your $$$. Don’t even think your food will resemble these pictures!!!

Yep, they’re kind of expensive, but they are loaded and delicious. Expect to pay $ 15-$ 20 per person, and you won’t be disappointed. Had a cheese steak in PA on a business trip recently, just to make sure I know what I’m talking about, and yes, these are delicious and authentic.

Had the Portland(Tillamook Cheddar) and also added Whiz(You got to on a Cheesesteak right?) it was great! We also got a stack of their Homemade Potato Chip(I always love these) with their special garlic dip(Great). Great food!

I am a sucker for a good Philly, but unfortunately this is not the place to find one. Everything is overpriced, the food is «meh». The staff is friendly, and the chips are good, otherwise this would be a 2 star review. I have never had a WOW experience at this place, the cheese steak is always just OK, and I always regret going afterwords… mainly because I feel like I am overpaying.

This place has the BEST Philly cheese steak rolls on long hogies! You can choose the type of cheese you want, from provolone to tillamook to cheese whiz! Then top the concoction worth some very tasty and spicy peppers. Taste bud delight! To add to this yumminess… a side of home cut fries seasoned so they are very delicious. The small order is huge… Could feed 4 of me… So be warned. This place curbs my craving for a juicy, full steak sandwich! Yummy!

First time here for lunch today. In a word, YUMMY! I went with the cheeze whiz. I know. Bad for me but soooo good. And on the perfect roll. A really friendly and efficient crew working there too. Go there.

We’ve lived in this area for decades, and if I could count the times we said«we should try to get in there…» As noted by others, their hours weren’t the longest, so it makes it harder on us working stiffs. However, we were off early and decided to take our daughter before she headed back to school. What a gem! Spicy, sweet peppers and onions, toasty bread, lots of steak, melty provolone cheese and homemade chips. Yowza. I’m not a cheesesteak connoisseur, but I know what I like and I LOVED this. Hubby got a full sandwich, ate half, then saved the other half for the next day’s lunch. They also have cane sugar Coke and Sprite and old school Fanta. I noticed their hours are longer now — open until 7 Monday through Friday, and there is a new location opening on NW23rd.
