Gabriel Park Family Health Center

We have been going to OHSU Gabriel Park for 9 years and we love it! Everyone is awesome there! All the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical assistants, front desk associates, schedulers, the laboratory technicians, etc… are all amazing. The wait can be long but I’ve started calling ahead to see how far behind they are and I just wait at home. I have a GP but I’ve seen a lot of the doctors there and they are caring, professional, competent, knowledgeable, value your opinion, and work with us. I couldn’t be happier with them. I highly recommend this practice.

I have been coming to this clinic for about 15 years. Over that time I have seen several of their doctors and P.A.‘s and medical assistants. What I appreciate about the clinic in general is #1.) that it is a group practice. You can choose to see your specific provider for all of your care, but if you have an emergency pop up you can see whomever is available almost immediately. They are very good about getting you in. Secondly, this is a nice facility. Very clean, professional environment which I appreciate. Parking is easy, the rooms are nice. I see a P.A. Ruth Christiansen for my primary care. She in particular has impressed me with her bedside manner, and her thorough approach. She always gives me all of the facts, and encourages me to ask any questions that I may have. I never feel like she is rushing me out the door which is a great feeling. I always leave with a stack of 5 – 10 pages of information regarding my apt. and things I might want to know. It is nice to be able to read over that in my down time and get a better understanding if I so wish.

This is by far the best doctor’s office I have ever been to. As a new patient, they got me in to see a doctor the following week. I arrived 15 minutes early to the appointment, I filled out paperwork and waited less than 5 minutes in the waiting area. Then, I was called back into the room by a very friendly nurse. Waited less than 5 minutes AGAIN (shocking!) and was seen by the doctor. Beth (Sonja) Borgstrom was super friendly, caring, and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend this office!

They sent me a refund so I’m a happy customer. I’d give them 5 stars if they’d reprimand the guy in billing that was a complete little jerk and treated me like I was a criminal for wanting my money back.

I called and spoke with Pam who was very pleasant this time and gave an explanation as to why our previous conversation had gone South. I appreciated the explanation and since then have had wonderful service from the entire staff.

What started off as a good experience quickly took a turn for the worse when we were billed incorrectly. My husband and I both made appointments for physicals, which are fully covered by our insurance as preventative care, but were billed for an office visit. So rather then our insurance covering the whole cost we each had to pay $ 297.08 with our flexible spending cards. When we tried to contact OHSU to have them re-​bill we were given the run around. My husband has been trying to fix this for a month so I finally took over. I called the billing 1 – 800 number and received rude, condescending, even confrontational service from Claudia. I actually had to interrupt her and ask her to be polite and remember that I am the customer and I would like to be treated with patience and kindness. As soon as 4:25ish rolled around (they close at 4:30) Claudia very quickly referred me to her Supervisor, John Payne’s voicemail. I’ve left two extremely detailed messages and he hasn’t called me back either. They told my husband they would have a manager call him back in two weeks. TWO WEEKS!!! That was three weeks ago. They told me they would have a manager call me back on Wednesday. It’s Friday. It seems like they got paid so they don’t care about customer service anymore. Especially since Claudia kept rudely reminding me that there was nothing she could do since the account has already been paid and John won’t even bother to follow up with me. Why should they care who paid it, as long as they got their money.

I think I had just assumed that waiting was what you did when dealing with doctor’s offices. I previously used a major university’s health clinic in another city and state and had gotten used to having the wait at least a month to get an appointment. Then once at the appointment, long waits were the norm in the waiting room and examination room.
OHSU’s Gabrial Park clinic blew me away by how easy it was the schedule appointments and how quickly they get you in to see the doctor once you arrive. Super fast and professional.
I’ve only been for a check-​up and blood work, but the service was excellent all around and again, the speed in which they got you in and out was phenomenal.
Easy to find location and plenty o’ parking too!

My family and I have been going to OHSU Gabriel Park for over 10 years. We’ve always been treated well, had great doctors, and gotten great care. Even when we lived in Vancouver for a couple years, I would still schedule my appts here and make the trip. Great folks.

Everybody at this clinic is incredibly nice, from the receptionists to the nurses to the doctors. The waiting room is big and clean, and appointments often start on time. It really is a family practice, too — you’ll see everything from tiny babies to very senior citizens coming through the door.
We originally just made an appointment for our son, since he was due for a well-​child check-​up. After my son’s first appointment, i liked the doctor enough that i asked if i could be his patient too. I think most, if not all, of the doctors here are Family Practitioners, which means they do pediatrics, adult care, maternity care, and geriatrics. Basically, it doesn’t matter how old you are, and you and your kids can have the same doctor.
Our doctor is fresh out of medical school, and while he’s pretty competent, they’ve paired him with an experienced nurse who can help him out. Mostly that just means little things like where certain equipment is kept, or the protocol for making follow-​up appointments and the like.
(If you’re uncomfortable having a young doctor, there are several more experienced doctors in the practice, but they often have very full schedules.)
My only complaint whatsoever is that the MyChart online system is a little hard to use. It’s not really this clinic’s fault, though, as the whole OHSU system uses it.

After the OHSU Center for Health and Healing Family Medicine practice flubbed my appointment, I was able to get in to see a doctor at Gabriel Park on only a few days notice. Dr. Wagner was incredibly competent and was very thorough in explaining both what he was doing during the procedure and what I could expect afterwards. He actually went so far as to give me his home phone number so I could contact him with any further questions. While I have thankfully not had to deal with the medical community very often and thus have little basis for comparison, this was truly exemplary service.

Nothing but good poking and prodding here! My family and I ALL see the same doctor. Most of the docs here are internal medicine folk, Obgyns, and pediatricians rolled into one. My doc also delivered our kids!
Dr Mark Bajorek is our guy and he is fantastic. Open minded, nice, thorough, and a professor at OHSU to boot.
All the docs we’ve seen on an urgent care basis have been great too!
