Funny Farm Early Learning Center

I defy you to find a better preschool in the greater Portland area. The teachers are all phenomenal, and are so caring and thoughtful toward all of the children. The teacher/​kid ratio is top notch. And, they are hilarious! I admit that one of the initial things that drew us in was the full-​day facet because we are both full-​time working parents, but as we have spent almost two years there now, I am so thankful that we found The Funny Farm. The activities the kids get to be involved with are simply amazing. The fun abounds and the learning and creativity just don’t stop. Outside of the «The Farm», you can always tell a Funny Farm kid by their manners; extracurricular classes taken elsewhere, the instructors will always comment on how well mannered and considerate my daughter is (other parents have told me the same happens to them), and it has everything to do with her being at Funny Farm. If Teacher Marcy ran a K-​12 I would definitely send my daughter there the entire time. She is a «child-​whisperer» extraordinare! They are simply wonderful. You can look into the faces of any of the kids that go there and know that they love it at The Farm, too! HIGHLY recommended.

This is the best kept preschool secret in SW Portland. The teachers are so engaged with the children, they absolutely love kids, they have a safe enviornment, and care about their preschoolers as individuals. They have a wonderful cirriculum, teach great values, and our son has never been happier. I was nervous when we switched preschools, and the team made the transition so easy for us which we highly appreciated. There are days when I go to pick my son up, and he doesn’t want to leave because he’s having so much fun. (Which says something because he tends to get bored very easily.) I would highly, HIGHLY recommend you check them out, you won’t regret it.

I simply cannot imagine a better preschool. The teachers are simply the most wonderful, creative, loving people you could ever want to have teaching your child. My daughter just graduated and will miss Funny Farm immensely. I can honestly say she loved every day she spent «on the Farm».
Marcy, Laura, Sarah, Heather and Kris are really great ladies who pour their hearts into making a safe, loving, creative, and very very stimulating, educational and fun environment for the kids every day. And I mean every day!
My only regret is that we didn’t discover Funny Farm earlier so my son could have attended as well.

Both of my kids are the Funny Farm Kids. Still, several years after my youngest daughter graduated from Funny Farm, teacher Marcy, teacher Laura and The Funny Farm feel like part of our family.
Funny Farm ELC offers very creative program that includes caring environment, learning through play, nature and environment awareness, theater, love of books and so much more.
Funny Farm gave my kids a head start in many areas of our everyday life — local history, gardening, charity, caring for animals, geography, poetry. Public elementary school still didn’t introduce many of these areas to my youngest daughter — and she is already in the second grade.
I always wondered at the amount of imagination and creativity the Funny Farm founder Marcy Wells brought to the kids. The school offers unique yearly events like plays, trips to the zoo, holiday celebrations, mother/​me, father/​me, grandparents/​me events. The pre-​school encourages parent participation and always makes every event fun.
We have very fond memories about our time at Funny Farm and highly recommend the school to any family that cares about the quality early education for their kids and wants to stay involved.
