Flying Fish Co

Fresh, local, humanely raised fish and eggs are what I go there for but I also get a lot more. Kris is hilarious, full of vibrant energy, and cares about providing good service and products to her customers. I live in the neighborhood and stop by to say hi, even when I am not buying anything because I want this awesome business to thrive.

Amazing fish & we (even the kids) love coming here because Kris (the owner) is so sweet.

Fresh and delicious, locally sourced, seafood.

I went there for my first time today, and I will be heading there weekly, for sure! They have high quality, well treated meat, completely grass fed beef, lamb, and buffalo. Their fish selection is fantastic. All wild caught! (So much better then farm raised!) And, their oysters are to die for. I am totally addicted.
Chris, (or Kris, not sure! :)) is absolutely amazing. She knows so much and was so patient in dealing with all my questions. She assisted me in hand-​selecting the best choices for ME!
Also, there are a few different places you can sit outside and take a load off, plus it’s right in The Village and super close to I-​5 N and S bound. Very convenient and has parking.

Wowza! Went here for the first time tonight. Their fish and meats are local and of great quality which I knew they would be, but holy crab cakes Batman… the charisma of Chris! I talked to her for 10 minutes and I feel like I just pounded 5 shots of espresso with a Red Bull chaser followed by a jab in the leg with an Epi-​pen and a swift slap in the face! Her energy is infectious! She’s also very knowledgeable about her products and she knows about and is clearly passionate about animal welfare. I will be back! Time to cook the salmon…

This truck is great! Everything is stocked fresh and tasted amazing! For Valentines day, I decided to cook my girlfriend a seafood dinner! I came to this truck and left with a fresh pound of chile langostines, a wild caught black cod, and 6 beautiful scallops for an amazing price! Everything tasted delicious and I will for sure be back to obtain their dungeoness crab and their salmon! I highly recommend any seafood lovers

Ok, my wife and I moved from GA and were looking for Oysters and Ahi Tuna. We heard about the Flying Fish Company in Hawthorne and discovered that it was also in our neighborhood in Multnomah ! Awesome ! Fresh fish, Fresh seafood, awesome dip… it goes even better when you know that it is organic, sustainable (Yes, SUSTAINABLE) and affordable (Yes, AFFORDABLE!). Plus Chris has a great sense of humor and professionalism (yes, both !). Best Seafood provider in my neighborhood !

I am a huge advocate for animals! I volunteer twice a week at the Oregon Humane Society. Every animal I’ve ever met has a personality and can learn and have traits desirable as a pet! So eating meat has been troubling for me!
Biologically I just don’t feel well without animal proteins! I don’t need much, just a bit! I’ve tried to go with out it.
Buying local and from small farms seems to be the most humane way to get my meat! Less chance for unhappy meat.
I was so happy when this little truck popped up right in my work neighborhood!
All the meat and fish is locally sourced! I’ve been assured the meat comes from small farms where the animals are well cared for. No hormones or chemicals!
We are what we eat peeps! I prefer to be a happy Cow! Actually when I popped in the other day I was hoping to be a happy sheep, but they were out! I was told the lamb would be back next Wednesday. I was cool with that! I found some fresh ground beef and pork to tide me over!
The lady that flys the truck was super nice and informative!
I think I’ve only had fresh butchered meat as a child. It was delicious! The meat from this truck was so tasty! There’s no beating fresh locally grown beef!
I’ll be shopping here every week!

After recently moving to SW Portland from SE 21^st and Belmont, the major thing we missed was the convenience of the Flying Fish Company. Once the truck came to Multnomah Village, my husband and I were so excited to have a piece of the east side more available to us! Flying Fish Co is the only place we purchase our fish from, and we can always count on the freshness and that the fish is sustainably sourced. Highly highly recommend getting your fish and meats from Flying Fish Co.

I used to follow Flying Fish all over the eastside. When I originally found this amazing mobile grocery store, it would spend a certain day of the week on SE Division, only to be somewhere else the next day. It was a difficult schedule to keep track of, and I grew resentful of the cart’s flightiness, especially since the fish, eggs, and amazing chocolate milk were so outstanding and I didn’t want to put so much work into learning their schedule. Where they perhaps taking the name of the cart too literally? The cart doesn’t *have to* fly, it’s just a metaphor, right?
Eventually, Flying Fish grew roots and became stationary on SE Hawthorne. For a couple years I drove to the east side to get my fix. It was all worth it, yet I still held a certain level of resentment because the commute to the east side meant keep some cold packs in a cooler so I could keep my newly bought booty nicely chilled until I returned home.
In May of 2014, the gods punished me by answering my prayers.
Flying Fish opened a cart down the street from my home in Multnomah Village. My life will never be the same because now I spend too much time and money there.
I have shamelessly ingratiated myself to Chris, who runs the Multnomah Village cart. She has street cred for days because she’s a former fishmonger from a high end specialty store, which was where I originally met her. She makes great recommendations on what’s the best to buy, and how to cook it. I pretty much just do what she tells me. I trust her and let’s face it-it’s a lot easier than thinking for myself. I’m glad she takes mercy on my sorry as*.

Fantastic! We so need this co. in the Village. I walked over from my place today and bought farm fresh eggs, smoked salmon, calamari salad, real wasabi, and lamb stew meat (yes, I feel bad about eating the lamby, but it’s soooooo good I can’t help it!). Kris is super-​friendly and knowledgeable, and the truck has an impressive selection given its size. Check it out!
