What an amazing person and Loan Officer! She was so helpful, patient and on top of things the whole way through. I feel lucky to have worked with her. From start to finish everything went smoothly. We even closed a week early thanks to Faith and her team!

I cannot rave about this woman enough. We had worked with two other loan officers before we found her, but both were inconsistent in their communication and one offered terrible advice that negatively affected my credit. Upon searching for someone I could trust, I saw that Faith had such great reviews on here that she must be good. She was so beyond good. We were first time buyers and loaded her with a million questions-​all the time, and she was always gracious and informative. Stop looking now and call Faith! I can not say enough quality things about Faith as a professional and a person. I first purchased a house in 2013 and went through 4 loan officers who were slow to return calls, lacked creativity getting my loan processed in a couple tough situations, and ultimately did poor work. The last loan officer I came to was Faith and I could not have been happier. I purchased the house using a 203k loan which would terrify most loan officers, but Faith handled it with ease. Every time I had a question Faith had the answer or immediately searched out the answer. I’m the type of person who wants things done immediately. Faith is unmatched in her punctuality. Fast forward a couple years and I was ready to refi, so I immediately called Faith and got the process started. Even though we were in the middle of the Christmas/​New Year season she worked extremely hard to get the loan closed in less than a month to save me a large fee that would have been applied had we not closed before the end of the month. I wouldn’t have even known about the fee had she not told me! Beyond all of the extremely diligent work she did I am always happy to talk with Faith as she is a very genuinely kind, thoughtful, and wonderful human being. Faith Watkins is one of the best mortgage loan officers in the area. How do I know this? Before I met with Faith, I read two books, one for first time homebuyers Nolo’s Essential Guide to Buying Your First Home and Mortgage Ripoffs and Money Savers. I looked at Unilocal and Zillow reviews. I interviewed two mortgage brokers and two loan officers, and I asked each of them a series of questions two pages long. Then I called their references. I interviewed Faith for 90 minutes and read every question. To say I am thorough is an understatement.
What specifically makes her the best? Most notably, her honesty and professionalism. She’s experienced and has high morals that lead her to the company she’s working for, she couldn’t stay with a dishonest company. She takes the time to understand your situation and goal, always a vital aspect of a loan officer (or broker). She secured the best rate for me and showed me ahead of time the rate sheet. She gave me the full Fee Worksheet, a booklet on navigating the home buying process, and sent me a video comparing that different rate and loans available to me. Basically she’s utterly straightforward and ensures that there is nothing to hide.
I had to switch loan officers/​companies, because she offers the first time homebuyers loan called the Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC), but was not able to offer the Oregon Bond Loan (OBL). She was so honest and transparent that, despite being more than halfway through the loan, she gave me references for other loan officers that could help me. Not only that, even after I switched loan officers she asked how the process was going. Honest, transparent, professional, and caring. can you ask for more from a loan officer? I don’t think so. I only wish I could have had her as my loan officer through the end, especially Closing, things would have turned out better.
Conclusion:
My decision came down to how I felt after the interview and how I felt when I walked out of her office, 90 minutes later, and it was at the moment that I knew she was the right choice. This whole process, buying a home, is so overwhelming, I feel that if you have a good loan officer and a good realtor, you’ve got a lot going for you. After I completed my meeting with Faith, I had peace of mind and confidence, and that’s exactly how they should make you feel. Faith won’t just go the extra mile for you, she’ll run the whole marathon.

As a first time home buyer, I had ZERO idea what the process would be. Faith made everything very clear from the get-​go. I got a high level overview followed by specifics on each part. As we progressed through the purchase, she made sure I understood what was happening and what was coming up next.
She sent an interactive comparison of the different types of mortgages available — really cool!
Any questions I had were answered very quickly. If she didn’t know the answer immediately, she was tenacious about getting the info.
Faith is very easy to work with and I highly recommend her for any purchase or refinance needs you may have.

Faith was a huge help with the purchase of my first home. She gave me the information I needed and requested information from me that she needed to make it a speedy process. She figured out a loan that worked for me, took me through the whole process and answered my many questions, and got the load approval to my Escrow officer. Faith was great! Faith did an amazing job assisting my fiancé and I in buying our first home! We met her at an open house 6 months before we were really interested in buying a house. During these 6 months I bombarded her with questions about mortgages, pre-​approvals, rates, etc. She consistently responded quickly and with detailed advice. When we were finally ready to buy, we felt very informed and had complete trust in her ability to assist us in the process.

Words cannot explain how amazing my experience was with Faith during the loan process buying my first home.
My experience started with trying to get pre-​approved for a home loan through a credit union, big mistake. I was passed around from one loan officer to another and did not get my pre-​approval for over two weeks. Another thing was that I found out my credit was pulled 6 (SIX) times!!! for one single pre-​approval request. This being due to being handed off person to person, etc.
My agent referred me to Faith and she saved the day. She began the entire process with putting together an interactive loan model that showed me every option I had with varying down payments, loan amounts, etc. It was also paired with a personalized video from her explaining all the different options specific to my loan. This was extremely useful in finding out the benefits of each option, and she helped me find the best for my situation. All this before I even had an offer on a house.
Now for the reason Faith gets 5 stars. I attended an open house on a Sunday in a popular NE neighborhood and fell in love. We stayed at the open house for a couple of hours drooling, and knew it had multiple offers that day from the listing agent. The listing agent also stated that offers would only be accepted until 10am the following morning due to the multiple received during the open house. Faith was informed late on a Sunday night of my situation and I woke up at 7am with a call from her to get access to do the full credit pull to put together an official pre-​approval for the property. At 8am myself and my agent received an email from Faith with a pre-​approval letter that was quickly sent to the listing agent. The rest is history and we signed with the title company last week. If I was working with a credit union, or a big bank, I would have kissed the house goodbye that morning. Instead I’ll be moving in soon and owe it all to Faith and her hard work. After the offer was accepted Faith continued to help me with next minute emails and calls to all of my questions. She was also able to secure me a rate that was less than I was offered by my local big bank, as well as the credit union.
If you are buying in Portland, you are probably well aware of how competitive the housing market is, and how quickly decisions need to be made.
