Enterprise Rent-A-Car

We booked what we thought was the airport location on orbitz but it ended up being incorrect and downtown. Found out when we got to the airport location and checked in and they couldn’t find the reservation. They could not provide a car at this location because they were sold out. When we went to the downtown location we asked if we could return the car to the airport and they said it would be a $ 75 fee. When we got there we found out that the annual rose parade was taking place and streets were closed. The staff were unaware that the streets directly surrounding the hotel were closed and were having difficulty figuring out how guests were going to exit and return cars. This delayed the check in process and it took about an hour to get our car, it was very time consuming on top of zero flexibility with any of the changes were asking for.

Short walk from some major bus routes and the MAX to PDX. Picking up the rental was easy as ever, we were in and out in under ten minutes. Staff was very courteous and accommodating, and after-​hours drop-​off is an absolute cinch. If you’re traveling to Portland, absolutely the rental service to use.

The customer service at the SW Pine St location downtown was excellent! They got me in and out quickly. They didn’t initially have my car (a compact model was reserved.) However, a few calls and 15 minutes later I was in a Nissan Sentra!
That is the only reason I am not giving them 5 stars.

The location and setup is a little sketchy. You have to go down underground on these scary stairs to get your car. This is more of an Enterprise issue but even for a rock flung by another vehicle I was responsible and had to pay my entire insurance deductible. Customer service was fine though and location is good for downtown area.

Had a fantastic experience. Car was a mid-​size and very comfortable not to mention the great gas mileage. We were picked up promptly and the service was right on. Will definitely rent from them again.]

Pleased with the service I received. Initiated the rental online — checked in, provided my identification, and was greeted in a friendly manner. The employees at the check-​in car dispatch were friendly/​courteous, and the process was efficient.
Can’t really ask for me much more — I was pleased with the transaction.

I’ve been using Dollar, just a few blocks away on Broadway, for years when I fly in to my Portland condo. Last trip, I checked prices on Travelocity, and Enterprise had a better deal — so I took a chance.
This branch rocks! Super-​easy to deal with, no-​hassle upgrade because they had a lot of inventory, extended my rental in a flash with no issues. Friendly and competent staff. So glad I switched!

After a terrible experience with Enterprise at Dulles Airport, I’m going to give credit to this branch for restoring my faith in this company. Extremely polite, let me pick which car, even though I hadn’t reserved it, and they gave me a ride back.

The young lady working the counter here at Enterprise is amazing! Watching her multi-​task and not neglect any part of her job is such a joy. She’s knowledgeable and helpful, all while being courteous and it seems like she’s everywhere! The small office is currently packed with waiting customers but, no one is upset, as she doesn’t seem to be neglecting anyone at all, while being the only person working upstairs.
I always come to this location, as the service is always spot on, but it seems they’ve streamlined the process a bit since last I was here and there is less waiting involved and much less running up and down the stairs by the employees here.
I am absolutely impressed and pleased with this location, and their service. I will continue to look to Enterprise for my rental car needs in the future, in large part due to the exemplary service I recieve at this particular location. What a gem.

Conveniently located near a MAX stop. I took the redline from PDX and walked about 5 minutes to their location. (they do offer pick up from there but decided to enjoy the walk)
Customer service was great when calling to make the initial reservation and when picking up/​dropping off the car. Rates are some of the lowest I’ve seen, even with the young renters fee included.
If ever in Portland again I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from them!

On a recent trip to Portland, I rented our car from the Enterprise on 445 SW Pine St. Our flight from Honolulu arrives in late, so airport rental wasn’t an option, and this location was within walking distance to our hotel. Didn’t really know that at first, though, so I arranged a pick-​up for our first morning there, which arrived on-​time with a friendly driver.
The associate that checked us in, in the office was very friendly and professional. The paperwork was done in a matter of no time, and we were off to select our car! Only, the way to the cars was down a very narrow, steep spiral staircase. The thing gave me flashbacks to the time we climbed the stairs in the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It wasn’t nearly as bad, but geez! If you’re having some muscle aches, traveling with someone that has difficulties walking, etc… good luck!
Once downstairs we were approached by a friendly associate. We were given a choice of just two cars, both of which I’d rather not drive, or upgrading for some change to a Prius. We took the Prius, and after the walk around, were ready to go. But getting out can be problematic. The garage is so TINY and dimly lit. We almost got into an accident with a returning car right then and there… The ramp up and out is very steep and narrow too, so it took a lot of concentration to keep from scratching.
Of course, upon return of the car we had to go through it all over again. Only this time we weren’t the only one in the one-​man office upstairs. We ended up having to wait a while, much longer than I would have liked to, but the associate was friendly.
Would I rent from this location again? Perhaps, but it was an interesting experience to say the least, and not such a convenient one… I’d be interested in checking out others in the area, but I would come here again.

We rent a car for one day and we returned To their parking lot before the lot close and after the office close. We just left it there and next day we were noticed there is a scratch. The scratch is in the front of the tire and we didn’t noticed when we got it and we don’t have any accident. I doubt that that’s the last consumer’s problem. Feel been cheated. It is the end of our happen trip. Not sure if anyone had similar thing before. Any suggestion? By the way we didn’t use their issuance!!!

Great service from pick up to drop off! The garage is kind of tight getting out, but not as bad as people make it seem. My train was departing 20 minutes after I dropped the car off, and they were very sweet in giving me a ride before they even opened. Thank you Catherine and Cierra (spelling is definitely off) for giving me a ride, dont know how I would have made it walking with all of my stuff.

Worst service in the world don’t have any cars available when you need them their advertising that they will pick you up and drop you off by the car or they would’ve delivered a car which they didn’t so I think enterprises bullshit company

Started out a little rocky, but only because I had unrealistic expectations. My pick-​you up was running a little late and I thought I would be peeved with them when they arrived. But, after speaking with my driver I found out the kind of crazy day they were having and the delay made perfect sense. I know I have crazy days too, so we enjoyed a conversation about people expecting miracles out of madness.
Upon arriving at the rental agency, I patiently waited my turn and was rewarded with a very kind employee who showed me my options, got me out of the parking lot with a washed, clean and fast dream car and a smile to boot. The car was fantastic, it could not have been better!
These same two employees were there when I checked back in four days later and recalled my trip details and asked about the adventures. Being kind and treating people with respect gets you a long way in life and this experience reminded me of that. Sometimes there may be a delay or something does not go to plan, but with the right attitude and some stellar employees the day can be saved!

Don’t rent from this location. Extremely poor lighting, so it is very hard to see if the car has any damage. The Assistant Manger walked around half the car and then gave me the contract to sign. My boyfriend, who worked for Enterprise in the past, asked him to wait until we inspected the whole vehicle for damage. A few dings on the car, which the manager waved off because it wasn’t bigger than a golf ball. The location was totally swamped so they were trying to get us out of there as fast as possible.
Return the car four days later. The check in is conveniently located under much better lighting and the staff member is practically crawling on top of the car to find damage. I’ve rented from Enterprise at least two dozen times before and I’ve never had someone inspect it so closely. I suspect this location has gotten burned by corporate for not catching damage on returns and now they are trying to find anything they can. I have to ask her twice to point out where the «crack» is because it is so small. She claims that there is spidering in the glass and writes on the contract that the whole window will need to be replaced. At most it is a small chip– I have trouble feeling it under my finger and even harder time seeing it two inches away from the windshield.
We didn’t have a rock hit our windshield while we are driving the car, so it had to have been there when we got it. Because of the lighting and how small it was, it is no surprise we missed it. Doesn’t matter– they still report the «damage,» despite the fact that the car is nearly 4 years old and had 35,000 miles on it, way past the usually life of a rental car.
A guy is checking out at the same time as us. He bought the damage waiver– she takes one look at his contract, glances up at the car and tells him «You’re good to go. Have a nice day!»

Every step of the experience was great. It’s easy and simple to rent a nice car at a great price. They were flexible about returning the car and gave me a free ride to the train station after I dropped it off. The car was new, clean and ran well.
I’ve used enterprise for years and particularly like to rent small vans from them. I’ve found they have a great mix of price and inventory. The staff is universally helpful. I’ve even rented from enterprise while in England. They seem to have gotten the system down so it is all about convenience.

I booked a car rental through Hotwire and it was a really great deal but the original Enterprise closed within less than an hour after I land at PDX. I called Enterprise to ask if I can switch to another location that opens a bit later and still keep the good offer that I got from Hotwire.
The lady was very helpful and made the switch to this location that is open until ⁵⁄₆ PM on Saturday.
From PDX, I took the MAX red line to the stop they instructed me to go to and wait for the car to pick me up. I wish they could have picked me up from PDX since I had a lot of luggage but they are only allowed to pick up within a certain area.
Picking up the car took less than 10 minutes and we were on our way to start our vacation. Great efforts by the workers to have everything ready for us.
We had to drop off the car early in the morning on Memorial Day 2014 so we just parked the car in the garage and dropped off the keys in the safe box in front of the store.
