Solid. Good food, reasonable price. It seems like the prices are negotiable, so I’d give that a shot

Worst falafel I’ve ever had. AND, totally unsanitary. The woman wore plastic food gloves and she and I exchanged one dollar bills. Then, she goes over to her work space and starts to make falafel patties without changing her gloves! DISGUSTING! Don’t eat here. My falafel sandwich didn’t even have any sauce. It tasted like oil and the patters were mush. I took one bite and promptly dumped the rest in the nearby trash can. Just GROSS!

Lamb gyro is so fresh and the humus is awesome! Love that there is a spot to sit down. Owner checked on us to make sure everything was good which is above and beyond in food truck land.

Extremely big burritos if you’re a quantity kind of person but still great flavor and perfectly cooked and seasoned meat

One of the few places that has a place to sit. Food is above average but not outstanding. Owners are friendly.

One of the best carts in town. They’ve open late, the food is great and the portions are huge. Try the big chicken burrito, the lamb shawarma, or the falafel. It will not disappoint.

Friendly service, but the felafel, hummus and tadziki tastes like it came out of a package… of really poor quality. Go somewhere else.

Two star rating due to using Styrofoam packaging on chicken plate. I told the staff I like their food but wouldn’t be back unless they used recyclable or reusable packaging. $ 8 chicken lunch plate is a good value, includes rice, pita, salad, hummus, dolmas, and yogurt /cucumber mix. Hopefully someone from the go box service gets them to sign up

I can’t knock the food. It was on par, albeit a bit expensive. My biggest issue is the guy harassing my group of three females and the owners watching and doing nothing to intervene. The guy was obviously a regular and knew the owners but continuously hitting on us and then insulting us for rejecting us was way over the line. The non-emergency police were called and rolled by. At that point, it seemed that the female owner gave the guy food and made him leave. There was never any apology or acknowledgment from any staff to us. Super disappointing.

This is one of the trucks that are open late night. The owner(I think) was great, really friendly, and my gyros were loaded with chicken/falafel, not sure what other people are experiencing with less meats. I wasn’t drunk like the others coming by late night, had nice small talk with the guy, and proceeded to inhale our 2 gyros post late night movie.

I can’t rave about my experience but I also can’t torpedo it, so I have no choice but to take a middle of the road approach(wish I could do 2.5 stars). The chicken plate was decent enough and the flavor was ok but nothing stood out as great. Honestly it was a somewhat mediocre dining experience and given the multitude of other mid-east/Mediterranean food restaurants and carts in the area I’m used to something a bit more flavorful. Don’t get me wrong, it was filling, it was alright, but not worth being put into a regular rotation.

To be fair, I went during the Starlight parade downtown during the Rose Festival so they might have been a little more swamped than normal and trying to make their ingredients go further. I felt like the Gyro was LOADED with iceberg lettuce with a fair amount of cucumbers. On top of the pile of lettuce was three thin strips of lamb. I like to think I’m pretty fair with restaurants, but this was a downer since I hardly had a bite with lamb in it. And If if did have lamb, it was hard to taste fighting with so much lettuce and cucumber. The tzatziki sauce was alright, maybe it was kinda watered down with so much lettuce. It was hard to find and when I did taste it, it was faint. And a stronnnng mint flavor. I think I’m willing to give this place another try since it was a busy night, but I was somewhat disappointed. Felt slighted since it was $ 7(more than the average) and I got less meat than ever.

Decided to stop here for a late night gyro and was not disappointed. The lamb was nice quality and it all had good flavor. Lettuce was a little cheap and yellow like the iceberg lettuce with was kind of lame since the rest was so good. I was also kind of annoyed at the price, they wanted $ 7 for a lamb gyro which seemed kind of steep when most places are charging about $ 5. I also thought it was shady that they didn’t list the price on the menu. Lastly if you are going to charge me $ 7, don’t make me pay an additional .50 for using a card. I’m sorry I understand card fees for purchases under $ 5 but any more than that is just a rip off.

Whoever worked there last night at around 1am is dishonest. I bought a large gyro for $ 5 and gave him a $ 20. I saw him count out two fives and five ones twice before putting the five back in the cash register and handing me $ 10. Presumably he thought I was drunk and wouldn’t notice and that he could pocket the difference. I noticed, but I’m sure this trick has worked for him many times before. In addition, the gyros, both in real life and on the owner’s Unilocal photos, are stuffed with meat at the top, most visible part and essentially empty at the bottom. Just another way in which this particular food cart is dishonest with its customers.

Sorry, I hate giving bad reviews but this stop on my Shawarma Quest left me physically queasy. The presentation looked impressive, with a nice cone-shaped pita roll, a decent spread of veggies, and sumac for spice, but my first bite off the tip of the cone crunched into gristle and things didn’t improve from there. The meat was low-grade ground burger, moderately spiced but greasy, with lots of inedible, unidentifiable chunks in it. Veggies were OK, not noticeably bad. Cold pita. I left a lot on my plate and wished I had stopped eating sooner. Given the stiff shawarma competition in the neighborhood and the poor entry, my hunch is that Elmasry survives primarily by dint of their primo corner location in the pod rather than any particular strength of their food.

Falafel sandwich was delicious. Little spice, little veggies, perfectly cooked falafel. Hummus was tasty too.

The food: we ordered the Kafta Plate and Kafta Sandwich. The meat had no flavor and was dry. Probably the worst kafta dish we’ve ever had. My sandwich was filled with vegetables and hardly any meat. It looked like there was a lot of meat because all the meat was on top but the bottom of the sandwich was just all vegetables. The only thing that tasted good was the pita bread and the rice. The hummus was watered down. We were excited to eat in this food truck and chose this over all the other food trucks around based on the reviews. It was a mistake. The service: The owner was nice but we had no interaction. In the end, my boyfriend and I both decided our food wasn’t worth finishing and we threw it in the trash. We ended up crossing the street to Killer Burger to try their Peanut Butter Bacon Burger.

I came here starving! I had heard a lot about Portland food trucks, but most of the highly rated ones were closed by the time I made it over here. I chose this place because(1) it was the only one on this block with a Unilocal review; and(2) there was a sitting area. I ordered the chicken gyros and got a very generous serving. The chicken was marinated in a tasty yellow sauce(I’m guessing it was a blend if curry and tzatzki sauce). Great deal and great flavor!

I would give this place 4 stars, only we found a hair in our kafti sandwich on our 3rd to last bite. Disgusting as it may be, the food was tasty. If you’re brave enough to eat here, try their hot sauce. It’s the perfect amount of kick. I doubt I’ll be coming back, though. I’m scarred for life…

After a late night of drinking, we were hungry, this was one of the few spots that was still opened. We order the big burrito, while the burrito was big, it was filled with mostly filler(veggies and rice), and had very little meat and sauce. If I was to come back here, I would have try something else, I was not a fan of the big burrito. Service on the other hand was great and bonus points, because they had a little seating area.
