Transit commuters are lucky to be graced by Elephants on Wheels. This cart is not perfect, but the prices are low and the quality is insane for the price. They offer cookies, scones, sandwiches, soups and beverages such as San Pellegrino. Their location is close to Pioneer Square, along with many buses, such as at least one which goes to Barbur Boulevard Transit Center. I’ve been to this cart a few times. One person usually stands around selling this from this joint, which is located in a big crevasse in a department store. My favorite item there is the marrionberry scone for less than three dollars. It is sweet and the scone is rich. Their sandwiches are good, unlike the pastries which are great, but even then, they have substance. Try Elephant’s on Wheels for a quick bite that tastes good.

I go to this cart several times per week for coffee, pastries and lunch. It’s one of my favorites. The service is always awesome, however they went above and beyond last time I was there. I purchased crème brûlée from the elephants at Fox tower and after sending it back to have it correctly«brulee’d» it still wasn’t. I hesitate sending anything back, and wasn’t sending it back again, so I left and ended up throwing it away and walked to this cart for some soup. When I told the man what happened, he gave me my soup gratis. This same guy also makes a killer latte! Love this place!

I don’t know about anything else but don’t get a breakfast burrito from here! I have given it 3 try’s at this point, it was worse each time.

The tomato soup is SO good. Orange tomato, so flavorful… But if you’re thinking of getting a grilled cheese with it. Think again. They basically plop an awfully made grilled cheese on a george foreman looking thing for 2 seconds and it’s super dry and just blah. But the soup alone is good.

I randomly came across this while wandering around and I’m sure glad I did. While I wasn’t hungry before, when I saw some soup available I just had to try some. I got the tomato-basil and cheese soup. This was really damn good. Like, really really damn good. I generally like soup on the thicker side, and this was absolutely perfect for that. This was nice and cheap. It was like $ 3 for the soup and I got some water as well. That equals zero complaint from me.

Loved my lunch here last week. Got a grilled cheese with a small tomato bisque. Hearty, simple, perfect. Definitely a keeper for the downtown lunch list.

I was first introduced to Flying Elephants on a walking food tour last year and immediately loved their tomato bisque! So imagine how happy I was when my sister told me they have a cart just down the street from the Westin when we stayed there last week! We went twice to grab breakfast on 2 different days, so I got to try 2 different items — the Breakfast BLT and their Breakfast Burrito. Both were very delicious and filling! I actually halved the burrito with my aunty and it was filling! I also had a latte from here and it was pretty good. Service was good and pretty quick, but it’s not like there was a line when we went… just my sister and I ordering food for 4 people!

Have you noticed the new elephant on 5th ave? Scurry by as you are trying to dodge another guy trying to shake your hand to talk about saving the world and you just might miss it. Most mornings on my commute to work I have a 3 minute window of time between when my eastbound MAX arrives downtown and when my connecting bus arrives on the corner of 5th and Morrison. As I hustle as fast as my feet will take me, I pray under my breath that my bus will be a little late, so I can make a stop by the new«Elephants on Wheels.» Located on 5th and sharing the building that houses the Nine’s hotel and Macy’s, the newest member of the Elephant’s Delicatessen family has made its home in a «pop-out awning» as the website describes. To me, it’s a food cart on wheels that’s tucked in the side of the building. However it’s called, I think it’s a genius idea because the location is ideal and it allows me to load up on coffee and pastries in the morning. They serve their elephants blend of coffee; a medium roast that is consistently good, smooth, and not burnt at incredible prices. $ 1 for an 8 oz and 1.25 for a 12?!? Yesterday I picked up a marionberry scone that surpassed any scone I’ve had. Light, flaky, buttery and perfect. It really changed my perspective of how a scone should be. They also are serving soups and sandwiches to take care of your lunch needs. As far as I’m concerned, this is one of the best things that could have happened for my morning commute. Now if only there was a way my coffee would be waiting for me there each morning just in case my bus does come on time… I can only dream.
