A Mexican kitchen down Powell Blvd that will not disappoint — if you love real Mexican food and find the Mexican telephone company (a.k.a Taco Bell) too bland for your taste.
My favorites are Camarones a la Diabla and tacos de pescado. When ordering the shrimp, be sure to ask for «Mexican hot» if you can truly stomach the fiery, burning sensation. Otherwise they’ll serve you the mild version as the «American hot» like most restaurants across the U.S. do.
No, Mexican food is not all rice, beans, Gorditas and Chalupas. And yes, I do feel the burning sensation out of hell the next morning (and sometimes again in the evening).
The owner always seems friendly and helpful. Service is efficient. A quick study of Mexican food might be useful before the first visit to help you choose from more than 50 menu items.
