Ordered the Lengua and Cabeza Tacos. I think that’s how you spell it. I actually wouldn’t think I would eat Lengua. But having it here it was soft and tasted very good. Lots of onions, sour cream and I added some guacamole in it as well.

I have been coming to this place for over 10 years and it is my favorite in Portland. I am glad they are doing well. Viva El Pato Feliz!

Love this place. Moved here from Austin, TX and spent years looking for a decent taco. This place is it. Everything is good on the menu but you wanna get tacos pastor when you go. Great Salsa. Little place with a lot of soul.

Just tried this place and it was really good! I have the huevos rancheros, my son had a bean burrito, and my husband ate a burrito with al pastor. IT was all really good. And the guac was great too. We’ll be back for sure.

The tacos are good. The breakfast burritos are delicious. The staff is welcoming and pleasant. But I’ve always felt that lettuce doesn’t belong in a burrito. To me warm lettuce is nightmare fuel. Luckily they will gladly hold that nightmare fuel when requested. I’m glad this place is around… I find myself wandering in for dinner and leaving full and glad to have this place in my ‘hood. One gal gave a one star review citing spicy salsa and chipped plates… the thing is: my 7 year old eats that salsa without batting an eye and yeah ya might get a chipped plate because its not a corporate chain restaurant it’s more like being in abuela’s house(complete with the fish tank, the duck knick knack collection and the ice cream bars for if you’re good). If you like a neighborhood hole in the wall with good food ugly paint and tvs set to telenovelas… this is your jam. If you like white linen napkins and fine china maybe google can help ya out.

It’s a small place and there are generally 2 people working so if it’s crowded, it can’t take some time. But it’s totally worth it. Good prices for larger portions of good food.

This place was recently sold, and since then has gone down hill. I’ll still go there for certain foods, such as their pozole, but their tacos lack meat and veggies and their burritos barely have any meat. I go to the food trucks on 72nd& Foster now, or Gresham for some good tacos.

DH wanted Mexican for lunch today, so we chose El Pato Feliz, which was on the way to our destination today and had some pretty good Unilocal reviews. It was a bad choice! The tortilla chips that were presented were good, but the dip was really hot. I prefer a mild salsa to dip my tortilla chips in and, sorry, all they had was hot. Oh well, we took them home to eat later. The seats of the benches were so high that my legs didn’t touch the ground. In addition, the upholstery was all tattered. DH ordered a lemon drink from the menu, but they didn’t have that any more so he just took a glass of water. I had a couple of chicken tacos, which were served on a chipped plate. And of course, since there was no mild salsa, I ate them plain. I was given a napkin, but had to ask for silverware.(Are we eating inside a restaurant, or food cart? I’m beginning to wonder, if I was just dreaming, or actually in a restaurant with 2TV overhead!) DH ordered the chiles relleno, which he always does at Mexican restaurants. The best chiles relleno he has eaten was in Tucumcari, New Mexico. The worst he’s had was here! The chiles were so bitter that he couldn’t finish them. He did find a few mixed peas and carrots on the plate — probably from someone else’s order. We won’t be going back!

If you’re a SoCal transplant like me, this place is legit Mexican food you’ll appreciate. Had 3 kick a$$ carne asada tacos and a breakfast burrito here today Tacos were delicious, and came with onions and cilantro. My husband had the breakfast burrito, with really tasty chorizo and tons of other ingredients. We even got free chips and salsa, and the salsa is super spicy. They also have the Mexican made American soft drinks in bottles with real sugar. Definitely worth the drive from North Portland and we will be back for more!

Great burritos, tacos, and chips — and very fair prices. Staple of Lents.

Lately, we’ve been on the lookout for great, authentic, local Mexican food. It turns out it’s a little harder to find in PDX than one would think. El Pato Feliz was ok, but it would have been nice if the food tasted fresher and more flavorful. The beans and rice were bland and lacked any spices. The establishment also seemed a bit dirty, which never sits well with me. However, it is reasonably priced, so if you want quick, decent and cheap Mexican food then this is the place for you!

Good solid food. The flavor was great and the ingredients were pretty good, the price is very reasonable. The atmosphere was good, it is a nice place to get lunch at. Was a little surprised they don’t serve alcohol, but I guess you can’t win them all. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick, overall I had a good experience here.

Stopped in yesterday for a late lunch and driving break, and chose this place based on Unilocal reviews. So glad I did! They had a small specials board and small regular menu board. One dish included mole, and there was a good variety of options to choose from. The food is amazing!!! If that’s why you’re visiting, you will leave happy with extra dollars in your pocket cuz it’s also cheap. Specifically, beans are delicious, rice is good, the shredded beef taco was outstanding, and the orange-colored salsa they offered with free chips(also good) tastes excellent and has a good kick. They put cotija(or anejo?) on top of the beans and tacos. mmmm I wasn’t blown away by the chicken taco, but the shells were notably good, and fixings were fresh, so I only left a bite or two of it when I got full. Even got a thick whole orange slice on the plate to finish the meal with — nice touch. Salsa was on the watery side of pureed, but I didn’t visit the salsa bar to see about other options. If you came for margaritas or cervezas — no dice. They don’t serve alcohol that I could tell, but did kindly open my pineapple Jarritos when I couldn’t find the opener on the side of the bar. Right in front of my face, but painted the same color as the bar and down low… Other charming features«The Happy Duck» offers — rubber ducks lining the counter(which make sense now), blaring Univision, a cold case with frozen treats, ripped booth seats, brightly painted walls, and a tiny dark bathroom with no decorations(hey, we’re here to serve great food, not entertain you while you pee! — I can appreciate that message). Easy to miss as you’re driving up 92nd — is on the right just past Foster. Street and neighborhood parking all around.

On a scale of 0 – 10 here is how El Pato Feliz Rates: Ambiance = 0(since I don’t speak Spanish and all they have on T.V. is Univision) Service(speediness — we arrived at 7:15PM, just ordered tacos and it took 45 minutes to get our food) = 1 Décor = 0(unfinished windows & dry-wall…I didn’t even use the bathroom… the ugly paint color…) Liquor Service = 0(for as long as it takes to get your food, they should serve beer & wine… THEYWOULDMAKE A KILLING!!!) Food = 15!!! Being able to overlook all the other stuff in return for outstanding Mexican food — I can manage that!!! We ordered 8 tacos and a side of beans: FISH:(it was MYLEAST favorite — it tasted like farmed tilapia –or– catfish which tasted like mud YUCK! However, my husband liked his). LENGUE: SUPERDELISH and TENDER!!! CARNITAS: my husband loved it. CHIVA(goat): literally, the taco MELTEDINMYMOUTH. CABEZA(beef head) — so tender & delicious it was a «LET’S HAVE A HAPPYMOMENTOFSILENCEFORTHESACRIFICE and ALLFORTHISDELICIOUSNESS». The beans were really tasty, too. I was happy the place offered chips & salsa while we waited. The salsa they bring with the chips was good. After getting some other salsa from the salsa bar, we liked the creamy green salsa and the fresh pico de gallo. They make their own chips and they are crisp and warm!!! Having sampled all the delicious food was worth the wait. I would recommend going before dinner time. When we arrived, ALL the tables were full AND there were 5 To-Go orders waiting and it was 7:20PM. It seems that the cook takes care of the To-Go orders before all the in-house orders — WHICH I THINKMAKESFOR A BROKENSYSTEM. I think they should have one cook for in-house, one for To-Go orders and have 2 people serving. I will definitely go back and I would recommend this place — if you’re able to overlook the few things I listed above — WHICH I CAN!!!

Every neighborhood needs a place to get a big burrito or some fish tacos that has Univisíon on all day, tacky outdated decorations, and wobbly tables. Lents has a few, but I frequent this place for breakfast. Mexican breakfast is delicious if you’re not familiar. Eggs, meat, refried beans coffee brewed with cinnamon… Avoid late mornings on Sunday when the after church crowd fills the place up. The food is good, but to be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t travel from other areas of Portland for it. If you’re in outer southeast, it’s a solid place to get standard fare. It’s super family friendly and I usually bring my toddler along. Pros: price, service, salsa bar. Cons: no beer or wine.

Good customer service for It is run by a friendly family. Mom is always warm and attentive towards customers. Food is pretty good, portion is average, But too salty, and the wait is too long. They have a sauce table for you to get all the sauce you need. Six different kind. I recommend you to call ahead for your orders. Walk-in will always have to wait for a long period of time. I wasited for half hour today. Only one chef and one server. And don’t use bathroom, It will ruin your appetite.

Wow! I’ve been looking for Mexican food this good since I left San Diego! So unassuming on the outside but the best food. If you’re a Cali transplant and haven’t found your go-to Mexican joint, here you go. You can thank me later

Right out of the chute, this place should be called the Ugly Duckling, not the Lucky Duck. The interior just looks like hammered shit. Exposed sheetrock, unfinished walls, no corner joints etc. They always have Mexican soap operas on the tv which has survived since the early 40’s I am guessing. That being said, the place is pretty clean. The waitstaff is extremely friendly, although sometimes you have to wait a bit. It isnt like the Screen Door where idiots will wait for 4 hours to get food. Where this place really shines is the price and taste of their tacos. There is nowhere in PDX where you can get $ 1.25 tacos that taste this good and are this authentic. Most places in PDX arent even in the same Spanish galaxy as this place on tacos. The Al Pastor coming out of this hole in the wall is by far the best I have come across, and that includes Tijuana and Sante Fe. Perfectly crisp and very flavorful. They have a house pico de gallo that is unlike many other places and tastes awesome. Their salsa is the perfect consistency. A lot of PDX restaurants fail on the salsa but the Ugly Duck delivers on this. Side step the shanty building quality and pop in this place and get the carne asada tacos or the Al Pastor. You wont regret it.
