Nice, friendly little gym with good trainers. I have been working with James for about 6 months, and he’s very knowledgeable and motivational.

I think they might be out of business. I called them twice, a week apart for each call, and got no answer. I tried setting up a five day trial on their website but the link doesn’t work. I just tried emailing them. It seems like a neat place and concept. Anyone know if they are still open? Is it possible to join?

I’m repeating my facebook review here on Unilocal,because I love this gym so much I want to support it with more than my money — I’m letting you all know that I am loving this gym! I was a member of the Green Microgym previously, the former incarnation of EcoPower Fitness, and the new owners Summer & Aaron have kept all of the good things of the previous gym and are adding so much more! Their excitement and enthusiasm for making the gym a better place to work out are showing in real, definitive changes in the gym. In just a few months, they have: painted, fixed & improved flooring, added a real rowing machine, added significantly more weights equipment, added a water filter/​dispenser so you don’t have to use the sinks, these strap thingies I haven’t figured out how to use yet, but I will. They are also putting a lot more effort into keeping things clean — the bathrooms have been significantly improved.
I can’t wait to see what ideas they come up with for new classes.
Also, they have been *very* responsive — either when I had a minor problem with the door lock, or I wanted to add my partner onto my account — I think Summer had things taken care of within the hour. Wow! She is seriously attentive & cares about the gym and her clients, and I love that this is a locally owned gym where I know the owners & can see the effort they put into the business. It makes me feel even better about coming to work out here.
The year-​long pre-​paid I think is the best deal, and I am planning to stick with that — this gym is the first one I’ve used regularly, like, ever, and I have no intention of changing a good thing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this gym to a friend. Thanks, Summer & Aaron, for revitalizing this gym!

We were in Portland for only 6 weeks as I had a temporary work engagement and Summer was amazingly helpful. She let us have a temporary account/​passcode and so we were able to use this gym, 2 blocks from our rental home, for the time we were in town. I have to say, I want there to be more gyms like this tucked into neighbourhoods — especially in SF. Getting there in the mornings I would often be the only person on the equipment — at most, there might be 2 other people quietly doing their thing. It was so peaceful.
Also the place is clean, the equipment is in great shape, and I love the personal responsibility for turning lights/​TV on/​off as well to keep the place costing less and using minimal resources.
Anyway, if you’re a local you should definitely get in on this setup — so much more pleasant than a big chain gym with a ton of overhead.
