This one is amazing. The wraps aren’t huge, but they are dense and totally filling. Speaking of filling, I love that these guys never leak on you. The folks at this cart have refined the art of mostening their wraps without causing wardrobe catastrophe and the hand made flatbread has good structural integrity, too. I’m a fan, but it seems like they have moved the cart! I got on here in the first place to see if there were any clues as to where it is located now.

The meat overpowered everything. I ordered the special of the day… steak with spinach and parmesan but felt like the amount of meat in it was enough for two people so I switched and ate my bf’s flatbread w/brisket and onion-rings. The flavors in this one melded a lot better and there seemed to be a more equal balance of ingredients here. The rings were damn good. Still a bunch of meat though. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy both even though he agreed with me so I guess the moral is… if you aren’t a major carnivore, skip this place.

This is my favorite food cart in town. I took a flatbread sandwich back to my office and ate it for lunch. Several minutes later, a coworker came in and said, «mmm, your office smells like bacon.» Nuff said.

I ordered the pulled pork flatbread sandwich($ 7.50): pulled pork with a tangy BBQ sauce, fried cheddar polenta, and caramelized onions inside a wheat flatbread. The flatbread is made with a whole wheat flour blend. It spends a little time warming on the flattop before the fillings are added. Expertly prepared pulled pork here. The shreds of pig melted in my mouth and worked well with the tangy BBQ sauce. The fried cheddar polenta was something I haven’t had much with pulled pork, but the light, soft texture here had the comforting consistency of mashed potatoes, a welcome contrast to the pulled pork. The polenta could have been a bit cheesier, and perhaps a tad more salt would have been nice. The onions were cooked perfectly here, just silky and excellent caramelization. The flatbread that I received looked like a wheat tortilla. In contrast, a food truck in Seattle did a similar menu item, but their grilled flatbread looked like a pita bread used for gyros. Interesting. Eat This! offers other flatbread sandwiches(brisket, chicken and bacon, vegetable, and meatloaf), so there should be something for everyone here! Head on over to Eat This! and order one of their flatbread sandwiches!

It’s good. It’s REALLY good. The flatbread isn’t just fresh — you can watch them actually roll the dough and toss it on the grill to order. I’ve had both the meatloaf and the blackened chicken and both are phenomenal. The meatloaf comes with mashed potatoes, cheese, and grilled onions in the wrap, and the meat is quite tender. The chicken has spinach, bacon, and some sort of tasty sauce. The chicken has a really great smoky flavor to it. I’m always surprised this cart doesn’t get more love on everyone’s lists of food carts, but it always seems to have a reasonable crowd in line. Don’t worry — they move pretty quick.

This food cart is freaking AMAZING. All their wraps are made-to-order flatbread and everything $ 6.50. My favorite wrap got to be grilled Shrimp Caesar Flatbread with Bacon, Romaine, Tomatoes, Parmesan, and Creamy House Made Caesar Dressing(my mouth is watering as I’m writting this). Just to keep in mind that this wrap is on a special menu, I’ve been waitting for this item. Second favorite got to be smoked chicken wrap. I’m usually not a big fan of white meat chicken but I got to say that their smoked chicken breast was so moist and juicy, and not overpowering smoked. Beside all the flatbread are amazing, but the owner is so nice and friendly. He used to be a chef at Ristorante Fratelli, his exquisite talent really shows. Extra points for having a bottle of local Aardvark habanero hot sauce.

Eat This! I thought the name sounded bossy at first but after tasting one of the wraps at this amazing food cart, I realized it’s more like encouragement. Eat this! You’ll like it! The flatbread was obviously fresh, and so were the ingredients put inside them. The steak was cooked just right, without a hint of chewiness or gristle, and the vegetables were crisp and summery. You can’t go wrong here, I’m absolutely convinced.

Think«Portland F» review below needs to be filtered out.(Only one review). I had that same BBQed chicken sandwich and almost got sick eating the whole humongeous thing. I couldn’t stop. Had to be the finest sandwich I’ve ever had and I’m 65. Was up in Portland for my son’s wedding and have always wanted to try a food cart. Circled the block and since I just got back from Thailand 3 days before the plethora of Thai carts were out of the question. Wisely settled on Eat This. And all this great food for $ 6.50. Burped that BBQ sauce all afternoon and guess what, each burp was a GOOD burp. See you again in 6 months when back in PDX.

Flatbread made fresh in-cart daily with four to five amazing sandwich/wrap concoctions to choose from. If you’re looking for something light, look somewhere else — even their veggie hash with brie and pesto is enough to span two meals for me(but tasty none-the-less).

Eat This is right! Eat it. Eat it now. Eat it a couple of times this week and try something different every day — you’ll thank me — and if you get sucked in to the Black Angus Meatloaf sandwich your cardiologist will thank you as well. I have had three different items here in the last two weeks(obsession, anyone?) — the vegetable hash, the smoky chicken and bacon, and the meatloaf. Holy. Shit. I rarely eat red meat, and I couldn’t resist trying theirs, and I am SO incredibly glad I made the concession. Black Angus meatloaf, mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, some sort of outstanding mustardy sort of concoction. Must have weighed three pounds — and I was almost in tears because I couldn’t finish it. I tried… good god… I tried. The food… the food gets a solid 5 stars on every front, so I’m giving them a fiver. That meatloaf… holy shit. If you’re like me and only eat red meat on very limited, special occasions — consider visiting this cart one of those times. Get there earlier than later, as the first time I went I had the vegetable hash because they were sold out of other sandwiches. But the vegetable sandwich was so outstanding I went back… and I’ll be back again. Eat This totally rocks my lunch world!

Meatlovers, rejoice! This cart offers majestic chunks of succulent flesh wrapped in tender flatbread for your chomping. There are other amazingly tasty things in there too, but the meat is the star and the bulk of the sammie. SOMUCH. SOGOOD! I had the pulled pork, which had fantastic flavor and was juicy but not fatty. It came with a wrapped with a fresh horseradish slaw that added a perfect little zing to the flavor, and a dab of sweet-ish homemade BBQ-y sauce. My salivary glands have fired up just remembering it… and this was only 3 hours ago. My co-worker had the — angus meatloaf I think it was? — which he raved about. And there was a vegetarian option, a roasted veggie, double cream brie, and pesto sammich that tempted me for a moment — before I was lured back to the siren song of meat. We went at 11:30 and it was already getting quite busy… now I know why. Damned good! I concur with the cart’s name — DEFINITELY eat this! P. S. They are now at SW9th, just south of Washington St.

Oh Portland. You and your food stands are so very enviable and Eat This! is no exception. I hit up Eat This! during a recent lunch outing and I have to say I’m a fan of the sandwich in a wrap concept. I went with the pork option complete with a fruity compote and coleslaw. So very tasty, yet kind of messy which is to be expected. It was a greasy-leaky kind of messy though because of the pork juice and open flatbread wrapping so be sure to have plenty of napkins and don’t eat it over anything you mind having stuff dripped on. I also sampled the white bean chili from Eat This! and that I would eat over and over again. It was quite delightful — hearty and flavorful. However it was the soup of the day and since it’s in and out of rotation there’s no guarantee it’ll be there the day you want to try it. Either way if you work or live close enough to visit this food pod you would be doing yourself a disservice to not give it a try. The name as a command should most certainly be followed in my opinion.

I was doing circles around the block of carts and had no idea what to eat. Too many choices too many carts and so few I hadn’t tried. Then I saw my co-worker and he said«Have you had this place?». It dawned on me, I actually hadn’t. I followed the white rabbit down the hole and saw the sign. Of course, it all made sense. «Eat This!». So simple. I ordered the Black Angus Meatloaf sandwich. It comes with cheddar«smashed» potatoes and onions all wrapped up in freshly cooked flatbread. As an added bonus I figured I would scarf up some«soup du jour» and ordered the«Chowda» which was corn and cheese. Dang. The sandwich was good. Meatloaf was very soft and mixed with the cheddar smashed potatoes reminded me of sitting down to dinner with mom(just instead of a fork I was using a flatbread to consume). I was worried the onions might be overwhelming but they were grilled wonderfully and added just the right amount of flavor. I could see the cheddar in the chowda and got ‘cheese strings’ on a few spoonfuls. It had a nice bit of spiciness to it as well that I wasn’t expecting but since I like spicy and warm it was a nice addition. There were also delightful little chunks of potato and other veggies mixed in. The sandwich totally filled me up(for $ 6.50) and I probably didn’t need the soup(extra $ 2.00) but what the heck, it was all worth it.

I enjoyed my meal from here quite a bit. I got a Cumin Roasted Chicken flatbread sandwich. The flatbread is cooked right in front of you, which is amazing, and really makes it a good experience. The sandwich had some beans(I think they were refried) and some chicken with good sauce. Frankly, it was a cool concept, but I wasn’t that enthusiastic about the flavors of this particular sandwich. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t a «wow» for me. I would rate that 3 stars, especially for it’s relatively high cost($ 6.50). But I also got a cup of soup($ 2 extra), which was amazing(5 stars). It was tomato with gorgonzola. I drank it straight from the cup, and it had excellent flavor and totally hit the spot for a cold day in the park.

I’ll start with the negatives only because they are so minor and will in no way stop me and my colleagues from visiting this cart once a week. One, it’s a little isolated and off the beaten path, which could be good if you have an addictive personality. Two, unless you get there before noon you may have a bit of a wait but it’s worth it! Now on to the nice part. Take a handmade wheat flatbread and fill it with spicy pulled pork, a cherry chutney and coleslaw and you have got a prime lunch experience. Unless you have issues with flavor in which case you won’t like it at all because there are so many in every bite. I’ve also had smoked pork with habenero peach bbq sauce and that too was delicious. My friends swear by the cumin chicken and the brisket The menu changes with a few standards on every day but no matter what this is a delicious, filling well-priced lunch option.

My only regret… I wish the sandwich was bigger so there was more of it to love. A co-worker brought me the cumin chicken sandwich with garlic and hummus. Wow! What a combo. I need to go back to try more and you should too!

Now this is a DAMNGOOD sandwich!!! Tucked away in the corner of a parking lot on 11th and Salmon, a very friendly cart owner greets my husband and I. We showed up right before the typical lunch rush. The sandwich menu, although limited was very difficult to choose from! They all sound frickin good! My husband decides to go with the Smoked Pork w/habanero peach BBQ sauce and coleslaw. It was obviously delicious as he didn’t even offer me a bite until it was almost gone! I had the Cumin Roast Chicken w/white bean purée, homemade bacon and garlic aioli. Frickin’ Exquisite! The white bean purée and garlic aioli created such an amazing flavor. Did I mention he makes his own bread TOORDER??? The bread is SO good and the sandwich eats more like a burrito! This Place is a MUSTTRY! Fo Sho!

Spectacular. I know — strong word for something as simple as a sandwich. But these are no ordinary sandwiches. No sir, ma’am. Made-to-order flatbread, that perfectly cocoons the house-made brisket, house-smoked bacon, cage free eggs, freshly grilled chicken, veggies…(not all in the same sandwich, but on the regular menu in general). There are rotating specials, too, but on this visit we stuck with the daily menu. Three of us visited and had the Black Angus Brisket with Parmesan creamed spinach, Cumin Roast Chicken with white bean purée and homemade bacon, and Smoked Pork w/habanero peach BBQ sauce. All were made fresh upon our ordering and, well, spectacular. Each sandwich was a meal in itself, and for a mere $ 6.50 each, you won’t find better. Other pluses — the staff. The owner recently left his post as chef at Fratelli, and his high-end gourmet expertise really shows, AND he’s an extraordinarily friendly guy. His counterpart couldn’t have been sweeter as she guided us down our gastro-journey. You owe it to yourself to check this place out.

I had the best sandwich of my life today. Holy God this place is good! The flat bread sandwiches that the benevolent dictator James creates are the finest in Portland. I’d heard through the grapevine about this amazing food cart that opened up near one of the buildings that I manage and had to check it out. I have never been so blown away by a food cart experience before. This place brings it, and with a smile… This duo not only creates incredible food, but they are also super nice as well. You will not be let down at this place. I had the chicken somethin-erather… and it blew my mind. I’m not a make a scene kind of person, but I was telling everyone that walked bye how delicious it was. James has lots of experience in the kitchen from many respectable restaurants throughout Portland and his dedication to the craft really shows in these unique, obnoxiously tasty creations that he has come up with. Talk about a treat. You will be eating with a soon to be legend of the Portland culinary scene. So excited to finally have a really good food cart in this part of the neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. This is the real deal!
