Not my scene and VERY far out of the city, but this place is good for what it is. The drinks are on the high side for Portland($ 4 for a bottle of Coors), but the country and hip-hop music is good and it’s a large event space that is great for large groups of friends. If you like line dancing(and just general people watching), this place is for you!

Dukes has been a great place — I’m one of the last people to be caught in a country bar — but the people are great, beautiful employees and patrons, reasonable priced drinks, friendly atmosphere. I am proud to call Dukes home. Kevin. The guy who always vapes. ;-)

This place isnt bad. Came here for Paint Nite a few times and both times the staff has been very nice and accomodating. A great selection of beers and a good happy hour. I’ve gotten the mozzarella sticks both times and they’re good. Pretty big place but the parking lot is difficult to get into. Overall Id totally come here again whether it be for Paint nite or just to get out

LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE!!! Reminded me of being back home at the mid state fair!!! Just like jimmy’s watering hole, but a way better!!! This place was FABULOUS!!! The music rocked! Everyone seemed very respectful and nice! Nobody was dressed bad, everyone showed up in their best!!! The drinks were reasonably priced but I wouldn’t have even needed it to have fun!!! Wish we would have stumbled upon this place before the last night I was here. I had a great time dancing and can’t wait to come back!!! It’s so cute in here. Oh ps. LADIESGETINFREEONTHURSDAYS! They have classes Thursday-Saturday at 8:00 so you can learn the dances! Also, PAINTINGANDMUSICANDALCOHOL… AWESOME!!!

Okay atmosphere for dining beware drinks are very watered down and expensive. My friends and I ordered four White Russians and it was pretty much four glasses of milk we also ordered 4 rum and cokes and all you could taste was coke just a heads up.. I tried to contact the management and have not heard a word back that was 1 week ago today. Very very high priced drinks

My wife and I went here last night and had the time of our lives. Our food was excellent(ribs are highly recommended, by the way), and our server was efficient, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable with her recommendations. Despite the fact that we were a little older than the rest of the crowd, the entire bar/restaurant population seemed to gel together pretty well in our goal to just have fun. We danced together and most people rode the bull with the encouragement of other patrons. The music was a mix of country and hip-hop(I think to appeal to a more diverse crowd) but the place is called«Duke’s Country Bar» so country music is what you expect based on the name alone. However, we had fun and were not overcharged by a cent — and will definitely be returning in a few weekends. Thanks Duke!

BECAREFULWHENYOUCHECKOUT! They will charge your credit card twice. Watch what you’re paying for they are dishonest. Don’t leave an open tab at the bar check out every time or pay with cash. It is a very fun bar but the bartenders are dishonest.

Do not get the tots! They straight tasted like they came out of a freezer bag, and they’re not even the high quality kind. You know how good tots have crunch and texture to them? Not this. There was a weird taste, almost fishy, and it was soooo salty! I could not for the life of me finish my plate. Yuck! By the way, I am not someone with a low sodium tolerance. My friend admitted hers were really salty too. I wish I hadn’t wasted $ 4.25 + tip(x2 for me and my friend) on something that wasn’t even edible. Caesar salad was meh. Not terrible, but nothing special. I don’t think people come here for the food. I think they come for dancing or whatever other attractions is hosted here. I came for Paint Nite, and if I were to come again, I would eat ahead of time so I wouldn’t have to get food here. My server was nice, but still, service left more to be desired. Two parties that came after me were offered menus and water before I did. I said I was waiting for someone to join me, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t have gotten water or a menu. 15 minutes or so later, I was then asked if I wanted water while I waited, and I had to ask for a menu. I will not be coming here again unless it was for a Paint Nite event, and I would not spend another dime on Duke’s itself.

Fun place with a good atmosphere. Generally friendly people and the drinks are made fairly well. Can get shit-showy, but that can be pretty entertaining as well… right?

Plays lots of hip hop for a country bar and cut my friend off after only one drink for no reason.

No mechanical bull, even though the advertisement will say they do. Door fee every night for a bull shit«country music» playlist that plays hip hop. Don’t waste your time, too expensive, poor service, poor music.

LADIESBEWARE! Please ALWAYS watch your drinks here! This is not so much a review of the bar, which I thought was fun and great, but about my experience there. I had a blast dancing with my friends until I don’t remember anything. We were dancing and having a great time and I took a break and went to the bar to get a drink. Some guy started talking to me and that’s the last thing I remember. I remember telling him I was married and had a kid(just to make sure he didn’t have any strange ideas). I was so blessed that my friend was watching me the whole time. When she saw him rub my elbow and put his arm around my waste(which I do NOT remember!!), she decided it was time to intervene. She came to take me away. I told her I needed some air and she took me outside. I told her I thought I was going to get sick and she took me to the bathroom. I then passed out cold. She’s a nurse and went into nurse mode. She laid me on the floor, took my pulse, shook me, slapped me and couldn’t get me up. She poured 3 cups of cold water on my face and still NOTHING! The staff was in there and about to call an ambulance. Her last resort was to perform a sternal rub(look it up). I responded and they were able to get me up. My friends and the bouncers carried me to the car and my friends got me home safely and into bed. I remember NONE of this! One minute I’m up dancing and the next I’m completely unconscious. I only had a few drinks(and I’m no lightweight… I’ve NEVER passed out and not remembered!!). I try to not think of the scary things that could have happened if my friends weren’t watching me. I might have left with this guy and not even known what I was doing. I do NOT want this to happen to any of your ladies out there!!! This review is more of a friendly CAUTIONANDREMINDER! LADIES, ALWAYSWATCHYOURDRINKSANDMAKESUREYOUWATCHOUTFOREACHOTHER! This is the type of place where you may put your drink down and go dancing. It’s completely innocent, but there are always predators out there! On a final note, the scariest thing is that my friends pointed the guy out to the staff and said they think he drugged me and the staff responded, «oh we know him, we have had a trouble with him in the past.» Not exactly sure what that means, but maybe he shouldn’t be allowed back in the bar! I know we all hate reading long-winded Unilocal reviews, but getting the entire story out was crucial. If this saves just one other girl, it’s worth the read! Be safe out there!

Great music, drinks and food… The next time I come I’m so going to ride the bull! Lol Tonight I was wearing a dress… Great music and atmosphere, I was on the dance floor even though I don’t listen to country music. The service was great and I had a great time.

I ordered«A pint of beer» which came in a cheater(14 oz.) glass. All my mixed drinks were jiggered, too. Dancing was fun, and there was a free dance lesson available. I am not a fan of the bar, but the dancing, music, and mechanical bull was fun.

This was as to be expected. Lots of cowboy hats and spangled jeans. I am not sure what the $ 5 cover was for… I guess the DJ? The playlist seemed pretty turnkey with every other song for line dancing. My boyfriend ordered a Gin Rickey(gin, soda water, lime) which is pretty impossible to mess up. The bartender muddled it with lime rind making it overly sour and bitter… stick with beer. We wanted to see if this place was cool enough to hang out at close to home and eh, not really. Good people watching though. I liked that they had a coat check though.

I ordered togo here again and they got everything right in my order which was great! But I had to wait an hour for it because they forgot about my order. They told me 20 – 25 min on the phone and I showed up in 25. I had to wait another 35 minutes for it, all the while getting uncomfortably hit on by the guy at the front desk… Their food is fantastic! They need a better togo order system though…

Attractive and friendly staff! Yummy drinks! Decent sized dance floor and seating area. I’v never found this place empty! I go every time I am in town! Bathroom is kept clean. 20’s — 40’s croud Down side is oddly or well I guess people go here with someone bc both times i’v been here I nor any of my girlfriends have been asked to dance. Or it could just be the Portland scene?! I duno. I just found it kinda odd. Oh and for me location is a downer. Purty far drive but I stay in Beaverton.

Dukes meets a need well for the Portland area, sadly there are few country bars and concert halls. I only go to this location for concerts, and find it to be a good venue for a show. The neighborhood is a little rough and for me it is about an hour drive. I have never had issues with the at the door when I pre order my tickets. If my memory serves me correctly the food is ok, but I prefer to eat somewhere else before a show. The bartenders are quick and friendly. The crowd can get a little wild, it is an interesting mix of people. Overall, I am happy they are here, but would not go in just to hang out.

It’s a country bar. People line dance. Cocktailers and bartenders are obviously hired for their… ummmm. uhh…hospitality? Drinks can be obtained quickly and easily. Prices are okay. Apparently they have live music too sometimes. Cool, I reckon. I think it needs a mechanical bull to really set things off, but it was a fun bar. I like that the door guy merely asked if I had any weapons. No? Okay, proceed! Giddyup!
