Local, Organic, Gluten Free. From scratch and often farm direct. I’m a fan of everything on the menu, however, I am convinced that a bowl of lamb borsch or bone broth, is pound for pound, and dollar for dollar, the best/most nourishing 7ish bucks you can spend in Portland. Dori’s cart is a somewhat-hidden gem, you won’t be sorry.

The hand pies are absolutely delicious! I was able to try a sausage and garlic hand pie, as well as a quince fruit hand pie. The crust is flaky and delicious, it was like eating a vague memory of before I had to go gluten free. The filling in both were excellent. I’m interested in trying the bone broth soups one of these days. The location is odd, in a parking lot of the college for natural medicine, and not open past 3 on weekdays, or at all on weekends. However, it’s worth the odd special trip once in a while for something that will warm you up on a cold and rainy day.

Love the chocolate or blueberry muffins. Crave the hand pies especially the sausage and cheese. Coffee always solid. Hemp milk for your pleasure. The chicken bone broth is super delicious, too. Local, organic, gluten-free, and delicious. I always feel good after eating their food. Also, I love the email updates :) I am grateful to have this place in my neighborhood. Thanks Dori!

OK, so think of this as an adventure with a mind blowing destination. Yes, NCNM is hard to get to, but once you arrive and find Dori’s Gluten-Free Kitchen glowing like a golden beacon calling your name, you’re body will be so thankful you made the trek. Even if you’re not gluten free you will fall madly in love with their handpies, bone broth soups, and gluten-free sourdough bread. Yes, sourdough bread! Dori and Bob care about every molecule of food that enters their truck, they source their ingredients from the best Oregon has to offer. Local and seasonal and gluten-free! Unbelievable right! It’s like the gluten-free, conscious eaters paradise. Also, Dori and Bob believe that food is medicine and they want to nourish you, so aside from being a devoted gluten-free kitchen, they also do not include night shades in their recipes and their bone broth is the base of all their soups. They do it right on every level. So here’s what I order regularly. The coconut blueberry muffin(the chia seeds are amazing!), A handpie(Pear or apple is my favorite, but the sausage and cheese is a must) and a cup of soup with a slice of buttered sourdough toast. If you have extra for a bottle of kombucha or coffee, DOIT! And even if you are vegetarian and gluten-free(honestly I don’t understand why you’d do that to yourself) they usually have some options for you. Ingredients lists are available for every item on the menu. Cash only, so be prepared. Sweet talk Bob when he’s working the window because he has amazing stories.

After a long day studying, their lamb stew always hits the spot. I love how they always explain what ingredients are in the meal and where it came from.(Yay local!) Dori and Bob put a lot of work and love into their food. I recommend this food cart to anyone in the SW area.
