I always thought people who put hot dogs in Mac and cheese were weirdos, but I get it now. I had the Mac and cheese hot dog. I was expecting for 6 bucks, I’d get a rinky dink dog with a 1⁄8 of a cup of Mac and cheese on it, but this thing was a behemoth. Super into it, glad I gave into crazy food stuff. Totally wanna try their other stuff too Update: got the Sonoran and it was amazing, also got the poutine, serious lack of gravy, which was a bummer

When looking for a unique dog this cart is where it’s at. From the delightfully toasted sesame seed bun to the fresh toppings we loved it. I had the Rocky Balboa topped with sliced beef and melted cheese. And my girl had the fried chicken. Both hardy sized portions for just $ 6. Nice deal. The setting is on a corner with a fire pit and beer cart. We enjoyed a cold draught beer and warmed ourselves next to the fire. Very eclectic setting and romantic to boot. The true test of any dining experiences is if you would go back. Dog Town has our vote. We will be back!!!

Probably the best hot dog I’ve ever eaten! I opted for the Memphis Pulled Pork. The flavors of the pork were beyond expectations(since it was a food cart). Not sure what I was thinking! Definitely a good reminder NOT to pre judge. The bun held up and the hotdog itself was good quality. Do yourself a favor and enjoy an American classic at Dog Town.

Had the«Friday night lights» the chili was great, the way I remember it from my childhood, loved that the bun was wasn’t a whimpy one, held all the yummy goodness without getting soggy

Had the chicken pesto hot dog with a side of fries. The hot dog was good, loved the greens on top, but it included prosciutto sliced on top too which made it kind of awkward to eat and I just ended up pulling the prosciutto off. The bun was really tasty and the meat itself had a good flavor. The fries were good, some were a little soft, lacking that crispiness on the outside that cooking just a bit longer gives. All in all a good experience.

The dogs were pretty good, but nothing amazing. It’s one of the cheaper options in its pod, but portions are also a little smaller than others, so… The lady got a MUCH more delicious bowl from Garden Monsters and others sat around us with amazing-looking burgers from The Doghouse PDX, which made my hot dog seem quite tame and sad in comparison. I’d browse the other trucks/carts first before deciding if you really need a hot dog…

I’m here right now… I’ve eaten here several times… going with the famous sonoran and the Rocky balboa hold the green peppers… add sourkraut… I’m a super picky eater… the owner is friendly and the hot dog lady… a.k.a «Lynnsanity» is awesome!!! I’m not a big hot doggie guy… but I love this cart! The food is always superb :)

Love the frickin chicken ‘dog’. Seriously– it’s called dog town but this is one of the best fried chicken sandwiches around. Bourbon bread. Spicy fried chicken. Pickles. Slaw. Did I mention fresh baked bourbon bread? And it’s easy on the wallet. I’m thinking of trying more. But I really love this chicken dog so we’ll see.

How does this place not have more reviews! Blown away by their lamb«hot dog». Quotes because it’s not quite the traditional hot dog. More of a wrap. But SO delicious! Try their lamb sausage wrapped in house made naan with the spicy orange sauce. Oh man, such good stuff! Totally coming back to try more of their fare.

Awesome dogs. The sonoran was one of the best dogs I’ve ever had, hands down. There is an unbelievable amount of flavor in that dog. The owner said he discontinued it though because he was wasting a lot of the fry bread, which is really sad because the bread was off the hook. I begged him to bring it back, and I hope he does. I’ve had 3 or 4 other dogs and they are all amazing. Give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

This weekend, I really wanted to try Dog Town Food Cart located at the Tidbit Food Farm and Garden in south east Portland. I’ve eaten plenty of hot dogs in my lifetime, but it will be the first time I’ve eat hot dog at a place where they’ve handcrafted their own hot dog, baked their own buns and cooked all the condiments and toppings from scratch! I really wanted to try their hot dog called the«Sonoran» which is a hot dog wrapped in bacon, refried beans and topped with salsa but I was disappointed to find they had already sold out even though I had arrived only about 30 minutes after opening(which is 5PM). I decided I would try a dog named«Return of the Mac» which is a hot dog topped with homemade mac and cheese, bread crumbs and bacon bits. The homemade mac and cheese was made with a very mild cheddar or American cheese and would have made a delicious meal all on its own served in a bowl. Served on top of a hot dog it was really decadent and put it over the top! I really would have liked to have tried that«Sonoran», though so I will be back. I should mention the Tidbit pod is a neat place and had live music the night I was there(a Saturday).

I am a more healthy eater than most. Despite that I have been fascinated by the Sonoran dog since I heard about them. I seek them out when I can. Dog Town specializes in hot dogs and sausages on breads. In the case of their Sonoran, it’s fry bread, like a fluffy pita. Unusual. There is plenty of filling, but I have to say their interpretation did not have any standout flavors. Maybe the end of the tomato season? They did have some quality pickled mixed hot peppers on the side. The dog is solid though, good quality with a firm casing.

I had a Frickin Chicken, and it was delicious. I’ll definitely be back. Next time I’ll get a sausage.

This cart opened at the Tidbit pod in late August. Everything — bread, sausages, and toppings — are made in the cart. All hot dogs are $ 5.95. SONORAN: I ended up devouring this one. It’s not the traditional Sonoran dog from Tucson; the owners opted for a made-to-order fry bread instead for a taco-like experience. Bacon-wrapped hot dog, pinto beans, salsa verde, avocado cream, pico de gallo, and grilled onions. Nice balance of heavier ingredients with light, fresh toppings. You cannot go wrong with bacon, folks. Great snap from the natural-casing hot dog. And there’s a mild pepper on top. Other menu items include: ROYALEWITHCHEESE: Homemade bun, beef-bacon-cheddar sausage, lettuce, diced tomato, bacon, grilled onions, and secret sauce. Possible inspiration from In-N-Out Burger? Woohoo. ROCKYBALBOA: Their take on a Philly cheesesteak dog. All-beef Coney dog, thinly sliced beef, grilled onions and peppers, and melted provolone. Looks like a winner and you may cry out for Adrian. MEMPHISPULLEDPORK: Topped with fresh cole slaw and their 6-hour slow-cooked pulled pork dressed in BBQ sauce. Hungry panda would sing and gyrate like Elvis for this. RETURNOFTHEMAC: Topped with gooey mac and cheese, crispy bacon, and garlic bread crumbs. Frankly, I don’t think the picture does this one justice. Insert heavy cat breathing meme here. Currently just doing dinner service. I hope they also consider lunch service on certain days. Great food cart owners and great food.
