Deconstruction Services of the Rebuilding Center

Deconstruction Services hauled away my old, hideous, turquoise-​painted kitchen cabinets to make way for my beautiful new Ikea kitchen. Although I’m satisfied overall with the experience, the demo crew made our lives rather difficult by doing things like inexplicably cutting the power cord for the disposal and absconding with several electrical switches and outlets. My husband had to spend several evenings installing new switches and outlets, as well as reconnecting the power to the disposal. They also left behind some molding my husband had asked them to remove, so now we have to figure out how to get rid of it. I would recommend keeping careful watch over the crew to make sure stuff like this does not happen for your project. Doug Lichter, the manager, did our estimate and is a very nice guy, but he can be hard to get ahold of for scheduling, etc.
For the price we paid, I think we did pretty well, and being able to make a tax-​deductible contribution to the store is an added bonus.
UPDATE: Very shortly after I posted this review, I received a very apologetic phone call from the person in charge of Deconstruction Services, whose name I didn’t catch. They are going to pick up the molding that got left behind. I am happy that they take customer service seriously. I would definitely recommend Deconstruction Services if you have a demo project.
