Danny has been my mechanic for the past 10 years. He is honest and a great mechanic which has made me a loyal customer. Most of my used vehicles over the years have been in various states of need and he’s always made sure the car is reliable and the work is affordable.

Danny and his crew were great! As a first time customer I wasn’t sure what to expect. But because he was a referral from a friend I had high hopes. I wasn’t disappointed at all. The repair was minor and he had it done in an hour and a half! I would recommend him highly.

It’s a bummer that Jerry G. had such an unfortunate experience here because I’m definitely a fan! I live up the street and had my car taken here due to the brakes squealing quite a bit — I just assumed I would need new ones since it had been a while. Fully expecting the mechanic to tell me a number I was prepared for but didn’t really want to hear, he just told me that all of my brakes were still good and that all they needed was a good dusting and lube job. They checked all four brakes, adjusted them as needed, cleaned them up and had me on my way and charged me less than $ 50 — can’t beat that — AND topped off my fluids and air just for fun. Danny is an honest guy (who is a veteran and does NOT speak broken English, by the way), his wife is a very nice lady, and the mechanics are equally as knowledgeable and approachable. Five stars in my book since honest auto repair is a relatively hard thing to come by these days!

The bottom line is that Danny undercuts most of the competition by a few bucks and he generally does decent work (which is virtually impossible to differentiate from better work if you’re not a mechanic yourself).
However, he is shady almost to the point of being untrustworthy. Example: I had a check engine light come on just before I needed to pass smog. Told Danny said no problem and called me a few hours later claiming he already took it to DEQ and got the certificate for me. This seemed cool until a week later when the check engine light came on again. When I took it back in and asked him about it he said something like, well it passed DEQ and you have your tags right! Then my rearview mirror fell off and he refused to fix it claiming it had nothing to do with him.
I’m sure he just pulled some mechanic’s trick to get it past DEQ and charged me $ 300 on top of that. I will not be going back. I don’t trust Danny or his business.

Found this place on Unilocal and it definitely lived up to the reviews. Danny was great, fixed all my issues and then some. Was expecting to pay way more than what I was actually charged and car has been running better than ever.

If you have an issue with your car, call Danny. Honest, professional and he isn’t going to take you to the cleaners. 5 stars! Amazing.

I have only one hesitation in writing this review; and it is that everyone in Portland will be plugging up this guy’s parking lot with their cars that have been misdiagnosed and received poor work from other places. I have been to four other highly paid mechanics in Portland. None of them were as reliable as this place. Danny and his mechanics are hard working, honest people. A rare find indeed. I can’t say enough about his business ethics, intelligence, and pleasant manner.

there’s no reason to go anywhere else for auto repairs. Danny not only takes care of your needs, he’s value conscious and appears to simply love fixing cars. awesome.

I’ve brought my vehicles to Danny for over 20 years and I now live across town & despite the major hassle, still make the trek. He’s a great mechanic, honest, and a good person raising 3 great kids with a good woman. Like another reviewer, I’ve often paid him more than what he asks for. I can’t recommend Danny enough.

Danny is super helpful. He has my car for one more night and i’m very excited to get it back in a great condition. Definitely my go-​to guy for future car issues.

This shop never lets me down. This is an honest, reliable auto mechanic who I highly recommend. He isn’t always the cheapest, but is not over priced and is VERY FAIR. His labor prices are very reasonable. For stuff like breaks you might find the job cheaper else where, but the parts aren’t quality parts. So when I say he isnt the cheapest, its because he only puts parts in your car he knows will last you. For the quality and service you get, the price is more than reasonable.
For instance, my timing belt just snapped on the freeway.
It costs me $ 750 to get fixed, I got the timing belt replaced, water pump and shaft replaced, all engine seals, oil change, tranny fluid added, coolant replaced, new crank shaft. Oil change was something he threw in for free knowing I was on a tight budget but obviously needing it done.
He is a great mechanic, and I am so glad I found him. Ive used him for almost 3 years now and REFUSE to go else where. He even told me when I bought a bad car, when he couldve taken advantage of it. He is just phenomenal. From our conversations upon my visits I also know he continues his education on cars. They work on ALL CARS there.
This is the mechanic people wish and hope for, but never find. Go to Danny.

Everything posted here is on-​target. Nicest guys. Good communication. Overly fair prices. And extras… just because that’s how they roll. Do yourself a karmic favor and don’t let these guys short-​change themselves, so they stay in business forever.

Danny was able to get my car in the same day, found the problem with the axle and fixed it in under two hours, while I had lunch at a café nearby which he had recommended.
They gave me good feedback on the condition of other parts of the car and a suggested timeline.

A friend of mine just called needing a referral for a mechanic and without hesitation I referred her to Danny. We have been taking our car here for years and have referred several friends to him over the years who have all felt that he is fair, honest and fast. He will tell you what needs to be done now and what can wait until later. Great guy and great business!

Danny was amazing. I got here around 5pm, and even though they close at 6, he accepted my car when other places would have said no. He saw I had a faulty battery and then INSTANTLY jumped into his OWN truck and then picked up a battery. Had me out with an hour.
Just for reference, the auto shop next door said they wouldn’t see my car till another 3 days later.
Danny was instant and honest. Any car problems and I’m coming back.

WOW! Danny saved me thousands of dollars today. I had almost bought a bad car from a dealership. Took it into Danny’s so he could ensure that the car was drivable. He told me all the facts and gave me an honest awnser… «No, this car is not safe to buy.» Danny COULD have been like other mechanics and taken advantage of a serise of repairs I would have to make after the sale (only to find the car was a total loss much further down the road.) But DANNY IS HONEST and told me the car was a lost cause. He let me know just what was wrong with the car and why it was unfit for use. I drove the car back to the lot… that was when the car died. I started her up agian and it died a second time. Thank god it started agian after 10 min and was able to return the car. If it weren’t for Danny’s Auto Repair, I would have bought the car and been screwed out of three thousand dollars. THANK YOU DANNY’S AUTO REPAIR. I will ALWAYS go to Danny before buying a car from now on and I will always go here for my repairs.

Danny is a competent and trustworthy mechanic. He has kept our 2000 Toyota Sienna with 100,000 miles in good safe operating condition. His prices for major repairs are WAY lower than prices quoted by dealerships. I highly recommend Danny’s.

I have never trusted any mechanic this much. Our whole family, and company (total 9 – 10 cars) have been using Danny for at least 6 years. He gives a good deal, and only sells you what is necessary. He is extremely trustworthy and does a great job. He works on our new subaru’s, old trucks, new trucks, everything. He gave me the best deal on tires I could find! He does everything from tune ups to full blown rebuilds for us.
