Curtis Hale Apartments

So, My boyfriend and I have lived here for just under a year and so far all is good. I am actually surprised there isn’t a review for this building yet. The management is nice and pleasant and fixes problems promptly (our only issue so far has been a few ants and a faulty oven light) and there is an onsite manager-​type guy called Al. I don’t think he is «official» but he does keep an eye on people around the area and the parking garage. The residents here are rarely seen, or heard for that manner. I sometimes feel like we are the only ones in the whole complex. There is a fountain and garden area toward Al’s apartment which is nice and clean but loud because of the close proximity to the hwy.
Pros:
–extremely close to PSU campus
–minutes walk to streetcar and max lines
–quiet long term tenants that keep to themselves
–free parking space under building (when available)
— month to month leasing
–new appliances/​remodeled apartments
–reasonable rent for the size ($ 820 – 900 for a 1 bedroom)
–nice neighborhood with various small parks close by
Cons:
— the hwy is right outside the apartments and so when you go out you have to shout to be heard, luckily the noise is minimal from inside
–the apartments behind can become loud. I can look up and see parties nearly every weekend, and later hear vomiting when I go do laundry
— there are fewer parking spaces than there are tenants, so a spot isn’t guaranteed when you move in, but is usually available since most residents ride bikes
–there is a bike/​pedestrian path that goes past the apartments and the occasional transient or pot dealer will be hanging about but no one has bothered me yet
Overall I am very happy with this apartment.
