Date night… and wifey and I are searching for something delicious and nutritious so Crisp is our chosen spot. I researched it online and it has exceeded my expectations. I just wanted a place for salad but got much more. The girls were courteous and greeted us right away. The setting was perfect and they got our salads out to us in no time. The ingredients were fresh and the portions were more than enough. This is the first of many trips here and I’ll be talking about you guys all weekend! Oh yeah… the music was banging too! CRISP!

The flavors are fine, nothing too exciting. Some of the dressings are very tasty. Service is friendly in a forced corporate way and the décor is somewhat boring and sterile. All these things aside, what bothers me the most about this place is there misrepresentation of their food. They say catch phrases like«local» and«organic», but I know they get their food from Sysco and I bet most of it is not organic or local. They say they are a part of a local farms program that Sysco offers, but let’s me honest, anything from Sysco probably isn’t of high quality. The point of local and organic is to support local small farmers and community members and to know that your food is being produced in a sustainable manor. This misrepresentation bothers me so much because the small restaurants that actually get local food from local farms and create those relationships with their community members work their asses off and pay a huge premium to get the highest quality of foods. It isn’t easy to be a small restaurant that sources their food locally and organically and it is extremely disrespectful and dishonest to make claims that you are doing the same. It seems as though Crisp is only trying to profit off a trend and they aren’t selling what they are implying they sell. Be honest! FIGUREITOUT!

The staff weren’t happy to see us when we walked in 15 minutes before closing on an otherwise slow night, but they still made us some truly awesome salads. I recommend the Kaleo Paleo; it was great. I’ll be back.

I had lunch with a friend here. Very nice, good variety and fresh with excellent soup and friendly attitude from the staff. It was not as cheap as some other salad bar businesses but fresh salad with the variety of options can never be cheap. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. I will be back many times.

My first time eating at Crisp, I paid for a $ 14 cobb salad. That said, its made up of 70% iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce is like styrofoam of the vegetable world and am hugely disappointed I spent so much money. Sorry Crisp, you are no longer getting my patronage.

What a wonderful array of salad options! This place does have a super friendly and extra helpful counter customer service that truly seeks to please and make sure you get what you order and enjoy it. Everything is prepared and dressed in front of you at the counter and they make sure you are in the driver’s seat as the chop, toss and dress your salad. We had two very different salads mostly built from the wide variety of assorted salad ingredients available. In addition to the regular menu of salads, the possibilities for creating and dressing your own were quite enormous and featured some nice house prepared fine ingredients to suit carnivores and vegans alike. The dressings included many standard types and some very creative vinaigrettes. Once again, there was a wide selection to choose from here, too. We each had half salads or child’s portion servings and found these almost more than we could eat with having split a Panini between us. The Panini was a little bit greasy for my taste and I think it would have benefited from less oil on the bread, but it was still very tasty and otherwise well prepared. The roasted tomato soup we sampled was excellent and I regret not having ordered a bowl. Everything tasted wonderfully fresh.

I thought this little salad bar was fantastic! I ordered the Tejanos and it had fresh avocado, roasted peppers, corn, black beans and a great dressing. I like that they are huge portions, it was enough to save half for later. You have the option of how«chopped» you want it and how much dressing you want. I also had their Goddess soup, which was the GF version of minstrone and was awesome. I thought the prices were completely reasonable for the large portion of food. If you don’t want to build your own salad and stand in line at Whole Foods or New Seasons, this is your new spot.

I want to love this place. Wine on tap, salads, in the neighborhood… everything I love. They need to focus on what they are doing instead of being overly concerned that they appear so sweet as pie. I know that I’m not alone by preferring a dialed and delicious, well-made salad for $ 15 more than saccharin lip service. On my first visit, my vegetarian husband got chicken in his salad(we ordered very different things). They apologized over the moon, made a new one, and even gave us a $ 10 gift card. Just had my second experience. I fought Williams Ave traffic after work, stopped and got a salad+steak(paid for steak), got home and there was no steak. I called and again, they apologized over the moon. They even brought me a whole new salad TOMYHOUSE including another side of steak to add to the first salad, another $ 10 gift card, and a sweet treat. I was more than impressed! But, as I sat eating the new salad, feeling like it was even more bland than the first one, I realized that they had forgotten the hazelnuts and garbanzo beans. I was ready to give them another chance after the phone call but now that this 3rd salad isn’t right, I’m not sure. We have $ 20 worth of gift cards to use but I also work right next to Garden Bar and they always get it right. I’d rather support a place in my neighborhood but Crisp really needs to tighten it up before that’s going to happen.

LOVE this place! Incredible salads galore, with enough choices to eat a different salad every day of the week. This gem is right on the Williams’ Corridor with plenty of bike parking, outside seating and a fun and fresh attitude. Best salad bar restaurant in Portland! Check out Crisp and get your salad on! Or should I say, salad bowl/salad bar on??!

AWESOMESALADBARRESTAURANT. Delicious, tasty salads. Plenty enough for 1 to 2 meals. I LOVE their soups. The best I’ve had in a restaurant. Great concept. A Panini and soup will be my next order on a chilly Portland day.

Almost $ 10. for a pre made panini sandwich that looked as though it had been on shelf since the day before and smaller than I’ve seen any panini Also close to $ 10. salad made with kale, no lettuce with not much else. I won’t return to or recommend this restaurant.

I tried Crisp for the first time today. They have salads, soup, and sandwiches all made with fresh ingredients. The main feature of their restaurant model is the«create your own salad» activity similar to building a sandwich at Subway, a burrito at Chipotle, or a pizza at Pieology. I went for one of the already defined items on the menu, the southern fried chicken salad. It included romaine and iceberg lettuce, roasted corn, apple, sweet and spicy roasted pecans, pickled red onion, and of course chopped fried chicken. I decided to add in some roasted brussel sprouts for a little extra veggie. I really like that they have so many options, including things you can’t find at most places like chicken crackling, and various roasted veggies and toasted nuts. I also like that they ask you how finely chopped you want your salad and then chop all of the ingredients together. I hate it when you order a salad and have to cut whole leafs of romaine and full pieces of chicken before you can start eating. They also ask you how much dressing you’d like so you can go light or heavy depending on your taste. The staff person making the salad admitted she put more on dressing than she intended and offered to add more greens if I wanted. It was already a lot of food so I opted to eat it as is. The salad was quite good and all of the ingredients well cooked/prepared. It was a lot of food and I wasn’t sure I would be able to finish in one sitting. Being pretty hungry I did end up eating every bite before leaving and felt only a little stuffed afterwards. That being said, I would prefer they knock a few bucks off the $ 13 price tag and give me about ¾ the amount of food. I’ll definitely go back to try more salads and eventually their soups and sandwiches. I was surprised to hear that they are not affiliated with a restaurant that I had seen near a friends house in Charlotte, NC. This restaurant has the same name, same logo, same business model, and a very similar menu. I’m not sure if there’s any connection at all, but it seems very coincidental that the NC restaurant didn’t have some kind of influence on the Portland version.

So I basically hate salad and vegetables and any sort of health food. I was pretty disappointed on my drive over to try this place with my girlfriend. I walked in and everyone was so happy and peppy. They even said their day was good because they are surrounded by delicious salads. Ugh! The owner explained to us how everything works. You order soup/salad/sandwich from one side and go down the line and watch them custom make your food for you. Think of subway or chipotle. I absolutely hate making choices, and can take forever in an environment where I I need to make choice after choice; thus I opted for a signature salad that they already know how to make without me needing to tell them how I want it. I got soup and a salad. My girlfriend wanted a sandwich and the same salad I ordered, so we decided to split it. They put it on two plates for us. I completely forgot we only ordered one. The salad was huge. I couldn’t imagine the size of the plate one salad must come on. Or maybe they just pile it high like a mini mountain? I never had a Caesar salad chopped smaller for me, in perfect bites, but I loved it! The salad tasted great… And I admit it, I did kind of feel like Taylor Swift, the way everyone wanted to acknowledge me and all of my wants and needs over a salad. I actually ate all of it. The bacon broccoli soup was amazing! I almost ordered some to go so I could have more later. My girlfriends steak and Swiss sandwich tasted great too. We got one salad for two, a panini, soup, drinks, and almond truffles for $ 24. I think two people eating out for a little over 20 bucks is pretty fair. I know everyone on here wants to cry about the prices because this establishment has a weird fast food element about it, with ordering down the line and what not. But the food is fresh and tastes great so I don’t think it is out of line to have price points of 8 – 11 dollars. Yeah yeah… I’ll probably be back the next time someone says I need to eat healthier.

I’ve been waiting for a chopped salad place to come to Portland! I once spent a week in New York and ordered chopped salads every day — love this idea. But this place is just okay. I like all the interesting ingredients to choose from, and their signature salad options. The sandwiches looked really nice. All the dressings I tried were great — especially the basil lover’s! But everything feels overpriced. For $ 1 you get 1⁄8 of a wedge of avocado, for $ 3 you get maybe 2 oz. of chicken. A side of kale chips is $ 6. I was surprised to spend $ 13 on a salad that was mostly greens and didn’t end up being very filling. I suppose this is prime location, but there’s got to be a way to make it seem like it’s worth what you’re paying. If it were 2⁄3 or ½ the price of what they’re asking, I’d go there every day. As it is, it’s not likely I’ll be back.

Band-Aid in Salad! I’m sad to give this place a bad review because I was really excited about a salad place opening on Williams. I went to Crisp the second day it opened and got two salads, some bread and a cup of soup for take out. I took them home to share with husband and daughter and while we were eating and I looked down and there was a Band-Aid in my salad! And while I normally don’t post online reviews and recognize everyone makes mistakes, I chose to post this review because when we tried to contact Crisp regarding the incident, we received no response. We tried calling and emailing and no one will respond to us. Obviously, this was an incredibly disturbing event and I’m still freaked out that I was feeding my 14 month old daughter from a salad that contained a Band-Aid. The least Crisp could’ve done is refunded us since we obviously didn’t eat this meal.

Overpriced, bordering on airport prices esp. for the neighborhood. The Vegan Caesar salad composed of dino kale and tempeh was one of the more appealing and cheaper options at $ 8.70. It tasted just ok but not Caesar-like at all. The dried chick pea shards were so rock hard, I couldn’t chew normally for fear of breaking a tooth so I took it back. It wasn’t worth replacing with another sans chick peas. They readily refunded the salad and offered to replace it but at that point, I was done and unimpressed by the food. My companion’s mediocre cheese panini($ 9.75) was quite small, dry and somewhat burnt on the outside but with some unmelted cheese on the inside. It didn’t come with any sides. We like the salad bar concept and the customer service was very friendly but we will not be returning due to the high cost and mediocre flavors of the meal we had. There are too many other more reasonable options and this place feels better placed in Lake Oswego, not in NoPo. Wish Pix would come back…

Great new place. Fresh made before your eyes salads, soup and paninis. Beer and wine on tap.
