Community Airport Shuttle Service

I got a shuttle ride from Vancouver to PDX this morning, and the shuttle service was excellent. DJ arrived about 10 minutes early, and he was willing to wait for me to finish getting ready since he was early. The ride over was pleasant and easy, and the price ($ 25) was reasonable and the best price I’d found. I’ll definitely use this shuttle service again and highly recommend this shuttle service!

DJ was on time at 6am and took me to the airport for $ 30 + $ 2 for credit card use. He said he doesn’t pick up others on the way to the airport, or at least didn’t that morning. His van is a 5-​seater in the back + 1 in the front I think. I’m guessing he might offer a deal for groups. Very nice guy, and I’ll be calling him again. Taxis charge an outrageous $ 50 to my house, and other shuttle companies charge $ 30, but they pick up lots of people, so finding DJ was awesome.

DJ has always been on time and very helpful. I have used his service for airport transportation several times and never been disappointed.

These guys were great to use as a shuttle service. They are on time and efficient. During my last trip I used them to take to me to the airport at 3am and there was no problem with them being early. They came 15 mins early, about 5 mins after we left I noticed I had forgotten my cell phone. The driver was kind enough to go back and let me get it. Before we got to the airport, I let the driver know what flight I was returning from so he could meet me at the airport upon my return. Sure enough, he was there on time at the airport to take me home. I’ll be using this service again for my next trip. They are very reliable and friendly. Plus the ride is usually nice and calm.

On the two occassions that I booked DJ, he arrived precisely on time at my home to deliver me to the airport. He stored my luggage, drove safe, and did not bother me with small talk on the 30 minute drive. Happy customer.
The first time I scheduled him to pick me up from the airport, I landed to find multiple voicemails stating that I needed to hurry because he was waiting with another customer. He continued to call as I disembarked and waited for my luggage, wanting to know when I was coming. On the trip home, he stated he was taking his other customer home first — bypassing my residence on the way in Tigard to drop off the other guy in Hillsboro, then circling back, adding AN HOUR to my expected arrival time home.
The second time I scheduled him to pick me up from the airport, I learned that he is incapable of accomodating the various conditions that result in arrival delay. I provided my returning flight number for a reason but he didn’t appear to use it at all. After 8 hours on a plane (2 hours delayed on the tarmac due to lightning and 6 hours in the air) the LAST thing I wanted to do was stand outside in the cold alone watching taxi after taxi arrive to take anyone home while DJ continued to tell me «I’m almost there!» for over 45 minutes. I could have hopped in any cab and been home in half the time.
He’s trying to consolidate his trips to his advantage and I can understand that from a business perspective. When a flight is delayed, it impacts his schedule — I can understand that too. But he had 6 hours to see that my flight had finally taken off, and manage his time or communicate honestly with me. I am dissatisfied with the customer service from this operation and will be utilizing an alternative company for my shuttle needs.

If you’re in the mood for a ride out to PDX and don’t really care when you get there, call this guy. But if you’re actually trying to catch a plane, avoid DJ like the plague. I called a week or two ahead of time for a 3am pickup. DJ said he’d give me a reminder call the day before. First he got the date wrong. Then, on the morning of my flight, 3am came and he was not there. I was afraid I’d have to wait too long for a cab so, after waiting a few minutes for DJ, I drove to the airport, incurring $ 150 long term parking charge for my international vacation.

Because of flight uncertainty I did not know if I would be arriving in town till 11:00 pm at night. I called in to schedule a pick up for 1:30 AM. DJ was there waiting for me when I finally arrived. A friend had come to pick me up as well, and I could not take the ride with DJ. I walked up to DJ, wanting to tell it to him in person, and also because I wanted to compensate him for his midnight trip. When I did mention that a friend had come to pick me up instead, he was gracious and said — no problem. This was before I told him that I wanted to compensate him. So even though I have not taken a ride with DJ, I know that he is professional, and gracious. His van is big, he takes credit cards, is cheaper than other shuttle services, and is on 24 hours.

DJ (the owner and driver) was very punctual and reliable. Considering cabs here charge about $ 45 from my neighborhood (Sellwood) to PDX, $ 28 each way was a steal. I think Community’s cheaper than other shuttle companies, too On Blue Star’s website, I was quoted $ 30, and I used White Van Airport Shuttle previously, which charged me $ 35 (after quoting me $ 30 on the phone!). No complaints here and I would definitely use Community for my airport shuttling needs!

Called ahead and was met on time. Great service, clean van and less than the two other quotes I was given. Will use again for sure.

My only suggestion for this business would be to set up online reservation system or some other way so that clients could have a proper digital confirmation with all the details.
Otherwise, everything was perfect. They quoted me $ 38 from Tigard to PDX which was $ 5 less than any other service. The driver was early for the pickup (5:15 am) and drove very safely and smoothly despite bad weather. He was friendly but not annoying at all. He was all around very professional during our ride. We arrived a the airport with plenty of time to spare. Great work! Highly recommended!

One of the biggest problems with living outside of Portland is I can’t take MAX to PDX. That would be sweet. If I’m taking a short trip, I’m a big fan of Park-​n-​Fly (
). But for longer trips, it doesn’t make sense to leave my car at the airport.
So for our recent trip my husband arranged for a shuttle just by picking a name out of the phone book. Crazy!?!
Fortunately it all worked out well. The driver arrived a little early for the pick-​up at our home and he was ready and waiting when our flight arrived early at PDX. The van itself wasn’t fancy and I would have preferred different tunes, but all of the important stuff (safety, price) was A-​OK.
