By far the best chiropractor I’ve ever been to. She was able to cure a shoulder problem I had for almost 5 years. I had been to at least 10 different chiropractors, 2 physical therapists, multiple doctors, and too many massage therapists to count. I was told I had to learn to live with the pain. Over the course of three months Dr. Herst completely fixed it. I haven’t had a flare up in well over a year. The massage therapists here are also very professional and well trained. They will listen to what you want and also let you know what you need. Sophia who works the front desk is very calming and helpful as well. There are no big sales pitches or product bombardment. If I could give City Fit 10 stars I would lol. Definitely a good place to go if you want professional and hospitable service.

This is a comment on the billing aspect of the clinic. While my treatment was fair, I’m very upset about the billing process. I got charged undisclosed fees for undisclosed services that I never even asked for. They wouldn’t make any effort to make things right. I would recommend people to visit other clinics that are more transparent with their patients.

I know Dr. Herrst personally, professionally, and am one of her patients. I give her 5 stars on all fronts! She is a true professional and has a calming bedside manner. She takes the time to make your adjustment thorough and complete.
I think the biggest testimony to her skill is my ability to relax enough for her to adjust my neck. This is something I’ve never been able to do before. I was in a car accident several years ago and saw a chiro 2−3x/wk for 6 months. Never once were they able to adjust my neck. I think it was my 2^nd or 3^rd appt with Dr. Herrst where I relaxed enough to allow her to get my neck adjusted properly. To me, that speaks volumes.
Sophia at the front desk is AMAZING and always super helpful and organized. I’ve seen Brittany once and loved my massage. Everyone in there knows what they are doing and loves what they are doing. If you are a patient at City Fit, you will soon become part of their family!

I went to Dr Herrst for a few prenatal chiro adjustments. She gives you her full attention and works on your problem areas. She completely healed my neck discomfort. The massage therapists Brittany and Emma are also great! Sophia who is the office manager is welcoming and very professional. I would definitely recommend this clinic for anybody’s chiropractic needs.

I was suffering from a sports related injury to my shoulder that just wouldn’t go away despite taking time off and when I called City Fit I was in tears because of the pain and frustration. I had never seen a Chiropractor before so I was intimidated and unsure but within one minute of speaking with Sophia (the office manager) on the phone I felt at ease and confident that I was making the right choice. She was extremely compassionate and helpful, set me up with an appointment right away and advised me about a program that would help me with the cost as I would be paying out of pocket. At my first appointment, Dr. Herrst took so much time with me and really listened to me… I never felt rushed or cut-​off like I have felt so many times with physicians. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field and takes a whole-​body approach to her practice. Furthermore, she was always happy to explain to me exactly what she was doing and why. From my very first appointment I could feel significant improvement, and with continued appointments had steady resolution of my issue even while continuing to work and perform my usual physical activities. Every time I left the office, I felt elated as if I had just treated my body to a spa day rather than a medical appointment. I am now pain-​free and feeling better than ever, and the only downside is how much I will miss my weekly visits to City Fit! I would recommend Dr. Herrst and City Fit to absolutely anyone. Thank you City Fit!!!

City Fit is by far the most professional and thorough chiropractic office that I have visited. Dr. Herrst is extremely knowledgeable in her field and takes a very professional, although warm, approach to meeting her client’s needs.
I started seeing Dr. Herrst and her massage therapist, Brittany, after experiencing some muscular and joint issues after a recent Crossfit competition. Dr. Herrst did an amazing job at explaining to me the procedures she was conducting as well as what she believed were the underlying issues (with the help of some anatomy books/​diagrams). Dr. Herrst then recommended various treatment options that would work best with my scheduling, finances, and physical needs. I cannot recommend someone with a higher level of expertise, professionalism, or sincere caring for her clients.
Dr. Herrst is not the only member of her office to show such condor. City Fit’s LMT, Brittany Newcomb, has also been very helpful in my recovery. Brittany is great at tracking your pain levels/​tolerance and takes the time to focus on the areas that really need to be worked on.
For anyone looking to change or try a new chiropractic office, I would highly recommend City Fit Family Chiropractic. It will take only moments of being greeted by the office manager, Sophia, for you to recognize the care and professionalism in the office.

I couldn’t recommend Dr. Herrst and Brittany Newcomb more highly. I also appreciate Sophia’s patience and support, as she manages the billing and appointments. I first started seeing Dr. Herrst for chiropractic care, as well as Brittany Newcomb for therapeutic massage, very soon after I had a car accident in March of 2014. In fact, I was in Dr. Herrst’s office the next afternoon, at the encouragement of a friend who is also a patient. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made! Their combined care has been invaluable in supporting my recovery. I’ve felt very comfortable at their clinic, and trust both practitioners! I feel safe and very well cared for.
The pain I experienced in the aftermath of my accident has been largely resolved. We are on the home stretch! I have since developed plantar fasciitis and again turned to Dr. Herrst. While we are in the middle of the process, I trust this pain will also resolve.
I plan to continue with preventive and maintenance care after the more acute issues are resolved. I feel very blessed to have been referred to City Fit Chiropractic!

This was my first time at the chiropractor. Dr. Herrst and her staff were very welcoming and comfortable. She identified the problem immediately and was gentle for myself and the pregnancy. She also uses craniosacral therapy which helped with mental stress and brightened my day. The center also works with OHP for pregnancy and specific chronic ailments. Very highly recommended!

I have experienced chronic neck pain for six years. For the first three of those years, it was occasional — some days it was bad, other days it didn’t happen at all. Then I started going to North Portland Chiropractic for treatment, and the pain actually became worse. It became more painful, and instead of being occasional, it became constant. After three years of this, I gave up on chiropractic and accepted that chronic neck pain was just going to be a feature of my life from now on. It seemed to me prayer was going to be just as effective as chiropractic. I was over it.
Now, a month ago, an acupuncturist friend of mine was telling me not to give up on chiropractic. There are great, talented chiropractors who accomplish a great deal of healing in a few sessions, she said, and then there’s everyone else. She encouraged me to find one of those great chiropractors. I did some research, found Dr. Herrst, and decided she looked promising. She was also ten blocks from my office. So I gave her a shot.
I’ve seen her twice in two weeks and for the first time in three years my chronic neck pain is almost entirely gone. The majority of my day is pain-​free. It only comes back at night, and then moderately — nothing that keeps me from doing any of my usual activities. My neck still pops and cracks — I’m not rehabilitated yet — but in the two sessions I’ve seen her, she’s accomplished 180-​degrees more than anyone at North Portland Chiropractic did for me in three years.
Dr. Herrst and her staff are wonderful, professional, and very kind. The first time I saw her, Dr. Herrst conducted a full intake and reviewed every aspect of my life with me, from my office posture to my form when I swim in the pool, from how I slept and what kind of mattress and pillow I have to how I orient myself to my books when I study for class. She talked to me about where my pain resided, how it migrated and changed, what popped and cracked, what made it better, and what made it worse. Then she devised a treatment strategy that involved exercises, stretches, massage, and adjustments. She also explained that her philosophy was that therapy was not an indefinite engagement — she wanted to see me just a few times up front, make a big difference, and then get it down to infrequent maintenance visits from there. It was a level of care I hadn’t gotten from my last chiropractors. And it’s made a huge difference.
I also want to say that her massage therapist, Brittany, is fantastic. She’s thorough, deliberate, compassionate, and extremely effective.
I cannot recommend Dr. Herrst highly enough. To not live in constant pain that affects the most fundamental aspects of my moment-​to-​moment experience is such a relief, my gratitude is beyond words. I’m looking forward to working with her and her wonderful team more to resolve this problem once and for all, and I’m perfectly comfortable with coming back for the occasional tune up as needed once that’s done. Dr. Herrst is a fantastic chiropractor.

I have only been once so far, but I know it is going to be a great experience. I appreciate the wide variety of treatments the doctor and her assistant are familiar with so they can tailor my treatment plan, no ‘one size fits all’ plans here. I also appreciate her holistic approach and she did an amazing job putting some information I had from a previous doctor into terms I could understand. I am excited to go back!

Both my wife and I have visited Dr. Herrst for different issues, and trust her completely with our healthcare. I appreciate the approach she uses, giving a thorough diagnosis, explaining every step that she is taking and why. She explains what she sees and feels, and then helps you as a patient understand what the possible treatments are, and what to expect. She empowers patients to make choices about their healthcare. I would definitely recommend Dr Herrst, whether you are facing neck/​back pain, or are looking for regular adjustments.

Dr. Andrea Herrst is amazing!!! I am a massage therapist, so it is essential that I keep my bones in place. I’ve been seeing Dr. Herrst since I have had my practice and I really don’t believe I could do it without her. I have an old wrist injury that tends to flare up when I do a lot of bodywork, but she keeps me in check. I am so thankful for her fantastic and consistently excellent work. Thank you!!!
