Chutes N’ Ladders

It’s a year on, and my gutters held up much better this past year because of the screens that Chutes N Ladders installed last year. This year Adam came to clean our gutters, and while he was up there he cleaned al of the tree debris off of the roof, repaired a couple of gaps in the gutters that were leaking, and installed large screens to keep the roof debris on the roof and out of the gutters. Great guy, spent a bunch of time explaining what is going on up there and the strategy they have to keep the gutters working. My neighbors just spent $ 1000 replacing their gutters, mine works just as well thanks to Chutes N Ladders! I’ve saved quite a bit of money here, plus my gutters are working as they should. Yay!

Richie and Jeff came out to my house today to do a gutter cleaning, and check out potential issues mentioned by our home inspector with the chimney dampers and mortaring.
Richie did a great and thorough job with the gutter cleaning. Jeff didn’t find any serious issues with the dampers, and did a quick tuneup to make them easier to open/​close.
Honest, transparent, and really friendly folks that do great work. I’ll be using them in the future for some minor chimney repairs.

I second the previous post about CNL being a «stand up crew».
Our home inspector told us we needed our chimney swept and «a little masonry repair». I called Chutes N’ Ladders and set up an appointment for a bid. The guy from CNL who came out very quickly saw that the entire chimney was in fact leaning and needed to be rebuilt. Rather than trying to sell me services I didn’t need (pointless to sweep until the chimney is rebuilt), he honestly told me what needed to be done (a rebuild from the roof up). Since this isn’t work CNL does, I couldn’t hire them, but I was able to find other bids, confident in the knowledge that I really did need a full rebuild from the roof line up.
I left very impressed with the honesty of this company.
I will absolutely be calling them if I need the services they offer in the future. (Also their logo is just rad.)

These guys were amazing, I couldn’t be happier with their service! They were very responsive by email. I was able to arrange everything without needing to call anyone. They were fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I will definitely have them back!

Recently bought a house and wanted to get our chimney checked first before starting a fire and burning the whole thing down. Schedule an inspection with Jake. Not only did he arrive early, but he quickly checked everything out and had the parts on hand to replace a chimney cover we were missing. Explained everything about our setup, even the fireplace insert we had inherited. All in all he was done in less than an hour. Awesome. Being able to use the fireplace in time for Valentine’s night — even more awesome.

I have made a vow to not say anything bad on Unilocal and fortunately Chutes N’ Ladders has provided me with the opportunity to say something good regarding their service. I hired them to clean out our gutters and repair some downspouts. Afterwards I was informed that one downspout was heading into the foundation so I asked him to fix it and for a small extra charge it was done. I have to say because of this for the first time in twenty years I have not had water in my basement — imagine that. When we bought the house the realtor said the former owners had the basement wall waterproofed another said I needed to do some landscaping outside. But all I really needed was to have Chutes N’ Ladders come over and do some basic maintenance. Honest and effective — very grateful for a dry basement this year.

The circumstances sucked. But I contacted Chutes N’ Ladders and they came to my rescue. What a great experience, start to finish. CNL is top notch.
The last major rainstorm penetrated some old tarred-​over flashing on our chimney, and sent water pouring into the second floor of our bungalow. I filled out the inquiry form on CNL’s website that night and got a call from Gina first thing the next morning. The owner Jeff came out to inspect this issue himself, was professional and on time, and gave me options on how I could proceed. They don’t do roofing but he judged the quality of my roof and told me that repairing the existing flashing would be likely to do the trick. At least buy me a few more years before we replace the roof and demo the chimney for good. He scheduled to have his technician come out a couple of days later (I had put a temporary fix in place so there was no rush) and voila! — it was done, right on schedule.
In a world of flaky contractors and scheming «repair men», CNL is a stand up crew. Can’t say enough good things about them. If you have a need for flashing, chimney cleaning, or gutter repair, give them a call. You won’t be disappointed.

My husband worked primarily with these guys to set things up but everything he had to say about them was positive. Here’s his bulleted list:

Needless to say we will continue to use them for our regular maintenance!

Jeff and Gina were really down to earth and easy to work with. They handled our chimney needs and repaired and cleaned our gutters as well. Jeff was punctual and made sure everything was perfect before he left. Gina was very pleasant on the phone and pulled some strings to work with my busy schedule. As a business owner myself, I could tell they treat every job like mine. I will surely have them back next year.

Called Chutes n Ladders to come clean out our chimney that was kicking out a lot of smoke into the house. Jeff, the owner was on-​time and very thorough. We have a clean fireplace and flue again!
We will call him again to come chimney sweep next year.

8am appointment and he pulled in right on time, I’d just wanted the chimney cleaned (recently inspected so I knew it was in good shape). Jeff took care of business in a bout an hour — cleaning out the chimneyt and answering a few questions I had. He also confirmed that the chimney was in great shape (points, cap etc…). I’m just glad he didnt try and upsell me anything, seems like a straight shooter and a good guy. Will use him again for sure.

Jeff is an exceptional worker. i hired Jeff to clean my fireplace and what I received was a full inspection, full cleaning and recommendations on how to further improve my chimney safety. he didn’t make us feel stupid for not taking better care of our chimney and for that, i am grateful. he also noticed that I had no chimney caps and installed them on the spot. I highly recommend Chutes N’ Ladders and i will be using them every year moving forward

Thanks to Jeff, this was the best experience I’ve had with a home repair business. He returned my call promptly and was out the next day for an evaluation of our gutter problems (sagging boards, leaky gutters). He explained the problems and was confident he could do the repairs. It was obvious he knew what he was doing. He gave me an estimate that seemed reasonable and told me to take my time getting back to him and getting other estimates.
Jeff made the necessary repairs a couple days later and explained everything he did before leaving. He also said to call if there were any problems or leaks, which made me feel really reassured. A week later, one of the corners still had a small leak so I called Jeff. He came out the next day and fixed the leak and seemed happy to do it.
I would HIGHLY recommend Chutes N’ Ladders! I will certainly refer them to my own friends and family.

Thanks Jeff! I appreciate that you were honest and informed me that cleaning my chimney wasn’t necessary this year. Even better that despite taking up ten minutes of your time that there was no charge for that assessment. When we finally need that cleaning we will be calling you.

Jeff got back to me quickly, he was professional, fast and has very fair pricing. I will definitely call Chutes n’ Ladders again.

I asked to have him come over to check out my chimney before I use it. Quick to respond back to my voicemail. He was pretty good about telling me options and prices up front. He was on time, where I was a few minutes late. He asked if he could get started on the roof while waiting, I said OK. The inspection didn’t take very long 15 to 20 minutes at most. I asked several questions about economical heating options using the fireplace, he responded truthfully about what areas of the home would be warmer and that other areas would seem colder because the fire is sucking up air. He made a few suggestions about more economical and greener ways to use a fire place (wood stove insert), they were on the expensive side but he threw them out there cause I asked. He showed me basic operations and explained to me how the fireplace worked and was designed. He even recommended to me that I don’t service the chimney right now since it’s pretty clean, maybe check it out next spring after this winter. All in all, I felt the inspection was overall pretty thorough and reasonably priced at $ 35. A full service was for $ 99.
The only critique I would say but I won’t ding him a star on this is, please accept credit cards, there are a lot of technologies out there where you can charge on the spot. I know there is a cost but there are always costs to operating. I don’t know if it’s just me and maybe for home repairs it’s different but I definitely avoid some restaurants and stores due to them not accepting Debit or Credit Cards.

Jeff was on time, very professional and personable at the same time. Reasonable rate for chimney sweeping and caps. I’ll use him again for sure.
I also appreciated that he spent time with my wife and I to explain a bit about our chimney (we have a 1920’s home) and help us understand common problems with our style of chimney and what we or he can do to prevent further deterioration.

After several gutter cleaners failed to call me back, I found Chutes N Ladders on Unilocal.Thank god I did. Jeff returned my call right away and was friendly, timely and professional. He stopped the waterfall from streaming down beside our home. Next we hired him to remove the moss from on top of our home and garage. Both times Jeff was reliable and friendly. I was also impressed by Jeff’s honesty– after checking out our chimney he said we didn’t need it cleaned for another year. Sweet! When he took a look at my fireplace he was honest & said a cleaning was not necessary at this time.
