Cartridge World

More kudos to Matt. He cheerfully refunded my money for a cartridge that didn’t work in my (possibly wonky) printer, offered some solid tech support and how to diagnose the (possible) problem, and even made the copies that started the whole issue in the first place! He turned what could have been an annoying confrontation into a very positive customer experience. Thanks, Matt!

Called specifically asking if they did laser cartridge refills. I was told that they did it. No other questions were asked or concerns mention.
I sent someone to get them refilled and they were sent away because Cartridge World doesn’t refill Lexmark cartridges.
I was then talked over, cut off and blamed me for not being more specific when i called during a follow-​up phone call. No referral given.
Horrible business practice. Would NOT recommend them.

Unfortunately, despite the A-​frame sign that claims they do Laser ink refills, they do not. I saw the sign on Hawthorne and didn’t have my cartridge with me that day so I crossed town to return another day. However, they DO NOT provide this ink refill service. They offered to sell me a refurbished ink cartridge for $ 5 less then a new one and I agreed because it is recycling and was told it would be available later that day. 48 hours later it is still not ready and I have wasted quite a bit of time when I needed print capability right away. The «customer service» woman, Laura, claimed this was not here fault as she «only works here» and implied that I shouldn’t trust a sign that is «ten years old». She continually cut me off via phone and talked over me in her need to defend herself rather then offer good customer service and apologize for my inconvenience. I would avoid this place.

This place has a fella working there named Matt. Every time I’ve been to «Cartridge World» this guy is there and he knows what he’s doing. He’s helped me out w/​cartridge refills and basic issues w/​my printer w/​no charge if it’s something he can fix on the spot. Great spot but the customer service is the best. Always ask for Matt.

Cartridge World («CW») This is where to get your toner cartridges. Period. Price, service, convenience, delivery. Check, check, check and check. I was using original HP cartridges and getting lousy print copy. CW to the rescue! They brought me one of their refilled cartridges and BAM! Problem solved. May be hard to believe, but yes, it’s true.

Excellent service — they saw me waiting in the cold and opened up a few minutes early. Also had great advice about when to replace your toner drum. Their cartridge recycle program is great.

I’ve been getting ink here for a couple years. Always friendly helpful service at a good price. Cheaper than Costco but still ink costs money. If you bring in your old cartridges you get full credit on any new ones you buy. They will also keep track of your cartridge credit if you don’t replace all of them at one time.

This is an update to my review from January 2011. I had bought a recycled toner cartridge for my HP Laserjet 2100.
I decided to post this update just to say that over two years later, I’m still using that same cartridge, and it’s not showing signs of fading yet. This isn’t scientific — I don’t know how many pages I’ve printed, but it’s been a lot — I had my last semester of law school, printed papers and research materials, and have now been using it for light business use since then. I’ve easily gone through a few reams of papers (i.e., at least 1,500 pages).
My conclusion is that I got a full cartridge and a good deal.

I like what this company does. I really want to give them a great review. The staff here is nice enough, but I have a complaint. They told me an order (small order of 2 cartridge refills) would take 2 days. They didn’t call me or contact me the day I was expecting it so I showed up a little after it was quoted that it should be ready by. I was told «by tomorrow at 9 am.» That day came and went, as did the weekend, with no calls from them. Now it’s Monday and I called to check on it and was told «by tomorrow afternoon, we’ll give you a call.» I hope they are right this time. It’s hard when I have things waiting on the retrieval of the product. Maybe the best salve for having to wait 5 days longer than expected would have been, at the very least, an acknowledgment or an apology for the delay. No such mention.

Well, holy shit. Get this: my wife and I have a printer that has been out of ink for going on 6 months. We went to Walgreen’s for an ink refill, but the damn cartridge didn’t work. None of this should be too out of the ordinary. Here’s the part where you should be appalled: We live 2 blocks from Cartridge World. Much shame upon the house of B.
After an eternity of non-​printing, I happened by Cartridge World this afternoon. Not only did my lazy ass get a new cartridge, I was treated to the services of a really cool employee who might have reminded me a little of Pauley Perrette. Once again, I am printing Google Maps and boarding passes to my heart’s content.
Well played, Cartridge World… well played.

I have been getting my cartridges refilled at this location for over a year. the service is incredible. They deliver your cartridges for you if you place a big order. They also know printers very well and give great advice. My HP was printing lines down the middle of the page and I asked Doug what I should do about it. He said he could service the machine for me so I brought it in and a couple hours later picked it up good as new! And the price was very reasonable too.
I highly recommend these guys — very friendly yet professional and knowledgeable service.
