Amazing! I had Oxtail with rice & steamed veggies, the boy had Jerk chicken with red beans and rice. We shared and could not come to a concensus as to which was better! As per most food carts the service was fast. If we lived closer we might never leave the Piedmont Station food cart pod!

I am so happy that this food cart is now on Killingsworth, which is close to my home! The jerk chicken sandwich is amazing. And very filling. The owner and her son are both very friendly & helpful. If you are unsure what to order, just ask them. And definitely get the hot sauce on top. It is spicy, but not too hot. You can even buy a jar to take home. Yum!

This is some of the best Caribbean food ever! We had the Cajun tilapia, curry goat and oxtail. All three of the dishes were fresh and flavorful. The homemade hot sauce was so good. We will definitely be back!

This cart is in the new Piedmont station pod on killingsworth. The food is amazing and the owner was incredibly friendly. We had the jerk chicken, red beans and and rice and the curry chicken and rice. The spice was perfect and definitely add the homemade hot sauce because it was amazing. My wife and I both said we’d be coming back.

For clarification. It’s their Facebook page. Sadly their Unilocal still indicates they have a food cart when indeed they don’t.

Cart is not there. You can look but you won’t find it. Been looking for some jerk chicken all over Portland, but no luck so far!

Yes mon! Definately worthy of trying. Some of you know that I mostly like to get down with carts or spots that have real ethnic flavor and this one has it. Most bigger folks that really like to eat might not get full off their $ 7 offerings… that’s the only drawback. But quality is high. I suggest trying the Cajun Tilapia plate. They are looking for a permanent place to set the truck but haven’t found one yet. You can only find them through FB as far as I know. You’ll pretty much catch their non-descript white truck at any popular street fair.

Came here for the first time when they were at Last Thursday on Alberta Street. Great food. I ordered the Chicken Curry with Chickpeas over Rice($ 6) and my friend got the Jerk Chicken with Red Beans over Rice($ 6) and we were both more than satisfied. Especially after we poured a little Sriracha sauce over the top. The reason that this place really did it for me is the service and the people. They are super friendly and kind. The mom was in the kitchen and two sons were sitting outside taking orders. We were one of their last customers of the night and my friend drunkenly went up to her(the chef) and let her know that it was delicious! Instead of being irritated by his drunk shenanigans(like I was), she gave him a bowl with a little more Jerk chicken and said to come back with a great smile! Great people, great food.

THEYHAVEMOVED! :’-(they are NOLONGERON ‘SIPPI! Nina from the neighboring cart said they’re getting a new mobile cart and will likely be back open(somewhere/sometime), mostly on the weekends + special events! So sad! but hopefully they’re back up soon, bigger/better than ever! If nothing else, they need a website or facebook page to show where they are and when!

Amidst the sea of boring Caribbean chow out there, this place was a breath of fresh air. The tilapia blew all of us away. The sample of jerk chicken was the best I’ve had in years. And the homemade hot sauce left us wanting to take a bottle with us. Add to that friendly and efficient service from this family operation and there’s nothing not to like! My only worry is that they may not be attracting sufficient attention in their current location.

Nice flavoring but definitely not authentic carribean. The chef either owns a pretty ok cooking book and decided to doctor a recipe and call it Caribbean or is from the caribbean but would not be allowed to cook for his family’s function. Either way, if you have a veteran tongue and value real authentic carribean seasonings and taste like me, skip this place. If you just like food that tastes pretty good and really have no clue what real carribean food is supposed to taste like, you’re in good hands with this place. I tasted the jerk and the flavor was completely watered down, the ‘jerk’ part completely missing. I felt bad for the guy so ordered the curry chicken. Again, missing the bar, but definitely not bad tasting either. Throw some hot sauce on it and it’s pretty tasty.

Yeah, what everyone else said! Can’t get enough of the jerk chicken or the company of the owner and the smiling faces eagerly waiting for(or happily scarfing) their lunches.

Only open Weds through Saturday and I believe only to 7. I’ve been anxious to try their food for so long-living in the neighb, on walks, it’s hard to avoid the aroma of jerk chicken. After finally giving it a shot, I can confirm that it is delicious! The guy is super nice, is chatty and knows what he’s doing. Definitely give it a shot.

I can’t tell you how pumped I was to see a Caribbean joint opening up on this street. It’s been so long since jamaican patties and roti back there in Miami, I almost forgot about them. Although this stand has neither, it does have curried and jerk chicken, both of which are most excellent. I know you might think jerk chicken is too spicy or intense for you, or you might not have had experience with it at all. This is one of the ways chicken was meant to be cooked, and the dude at this stand knows how to hook it up. It’s a simple menu, but sophisticated flavor. Please stop by this place and treat yourself to some satisfying food. By the way, I see the guy who wrote the previous review there almost every time I go. He’s not kidding when he says how much he loves this place.

Oh, man, this place is GOOD. So far I’ve only had the Jerk Chicken(2 ways, once with red beans & rice, and once in a sammich) but wow, wow WOW it is amazing. I won’t pretend to be a jerk chicken connoisseur or anything, but I know when I put something in my mouth and it tastes delicious. OTOH, the red beans & rice were kind of bland and needed salt. But who cares, I will be back for that jerk chicken over and over again. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try something else! Oh, and it’s called the«Caribbean KOOKPOT». A pot of kooks! Who knew? On a side note, beware of the yellow hot sauce that they proffer with your order — that stuff is VICIOUS! The chicken itself isn’t all that spicy, but man, a few too many shakes of the yellow sauce and you will be crying for mama!
