Camera World

Came in hoping to find a camera for my daughter for Christmas. Stood there for ten minutes before the only sales person my presence, as he proceeded to help another customer. There was no indication from him that he was interested in my business. Walked out and will never bother with this place again.

Was told on the phone the Nikon I was buying was a US camera– I asked because I had read about another outfit selling greymarket cameras.
Later, after finding the «Nikon AU,» warranty info in the box…
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that’s technically bait-​and-​switch.
Manager told me on the phone Nikon USA doesn’t make them an authorized dealer because of the way their parent company does business…

Ive been meaning to write this for awhile but going for a hike today with my camera reminded me– I went in a month ago to pick out a new lens for my Olympus EM5 and to look at bags. I ended up being helped by Rowlan. He was really helpful and super friendly even though they were busy. I have to say that their bag collection is extensive! I had no idea they had so much gear. Anyway, went with a Ona bag, I thought they were only sold on line. Will definitely be back.

It’s nice to have a camera store downtown & it’s really great to be helped by friendly knowledgeable staff.
What’s horrible is listening to the A hole manager talk loudly and in an extremely condescending tone to his team. I feel embarrassed & he’s not even talking to me…
What’s worse is he called over the gentleman that was helping me — apparently his de-​motivational speech was more important than my time…

Wife and I came here to find out about renting a nice camera for a few days while on vacation. Unfortunately the sales staff couldn’t be bothered to help us. We wandered around the store for several minutes before having to walk right up to one of the employees for help, even though we could see he knew we were there and unable to find what we were looking for. Besides one other customer we were the only ones in the store. But one of the employees was busy flirting with a girl in there and the other was playing around on his cellphone. When we asked the guy on his phone for some help he just said «Uh I don’t know… I don’t think so…» He didn’t bother to ask anyone else, he just left it at that. Needless to say we didn’t waste our time spending money here.

I come to this store solely to have my color film processed. The service is quick and reasonably-​priced, the staff is friendly and helpful. I really can’t ask for more.

CW is awesome. I walked it and no sell tactics just very informational employees. Abiel and David are really nice and honest caring people who want the best for your purchase. They talked to me as if I bought something already and I walked out with just info then days later purchased my Panasonic Lumix 12−35mm lens because of how helpful and knowledgeable they were. I highly recommend this store if you’re in the market for Dslr’s or lens or any of your camera accessory needs.

Service? What service? Went in to buy the new Tamron 15−30mm lens. I did my research and knew what I wanted. This was an easy $ 1200 sale for camera world. All they had to do was acknowledge me. Instead the associate was too busy talking about his past ROTC experience with someone else. There was no «hi» or «be right with you.» I was just ignored for a solid 10 – 15 min. I won’t be back.

This place sucks. Over priced and overly corporate. Place is huge, with tons of staff, but no one really helped us, and then when someone eventually tried, they didn’t really listen to what I was asking for. Go to the shutterbug down the street (which is locally owned) or pro photo, they are way better.

Took camera classes here recently. Good info. I did not like the no restroom thing is all. Had to be escorted to use, suppose it’s a theft deterrent. Would recommend for camera needs, etc.
Would return for another class anyways.

The salesman who helped was very knowledgeable and everything went as agreed on the phone. I bought a nice lens (Panasonic 12−35mm f2.8) and plan to purchase a few more items after Christmas.
I truly appreciate the time spent on the phone. Unlike two other stores in the area (Pro Photo Supply and one near or on Barbur Blvd.), that discussion really helped me determine I needed to have someone demonstrate the two lenses I was considering so I could make my choice. I drove an hour each way just to meet up. I would have also bought my camera there (Gh3), but they were sold out; I bought mine from Samy’s in LA as they were equally as friendly and knowledgeable.
I always want to work locally, but most shops weren’t able to help me in town.

Was in search of a Canon 1D X and this was the only store with one in stock.
Staff was friendly, helpful and spent plenty of time with me. They let me test the product, inspect the box contents and answered all my questions.
Very happy with my purchase and their help.
Will return to this store for future purchases!

– so easy. They were ready in an hour for pickup. The staff here is really friendly and helpful! I will definitely be using this place again for photo prints!

I came in today thinking that I would buy a new camera today. Thomas was incredibly helpful and gave me a long talk about what I needed to do to get better photos, and even educated me on the products I already owned. He took a lot of time to help and clearly is passionate about photography. I highly recommend these guys, especially Thomas! Thanks a bunch! Really knowledgable and friendly.

Just picked up another great print job! Its always so convenient to be able to upload images directly. And being so close to my office makes it so simple to pick up my pictures on my schedule. I have yet to be disappointed in the quality. Definitely my go to.

I came here because it was a camera store across the street from my hotel and we wanted to look at some cameras with absolutely no intention of buying one. Geoffrey, the sales associate, was informative, listened to all my stringent criteria and offered up all sorts of potentials to play with. He was patient and really knew his stuff!
I love my new fuji camera, he nailed it. I am so grateful for his assistance.

I really like the service here. The staff has been attentive and helpful every time I’ve been in. They answer all my questions (even the stupid ones) courteously.
I’ve also taken a couple of their classes and was quite satisfied.

Buyer beware: Despite offering Nikon gear for sale, Camera World is not an authorized Nikon dealer. Was also told that due to high demand of the Fujifilm X100s that Camera World was not demoing the camera. Fair enough, but other area camera shops carry the X100s and are happy to let potential customers try it!

I didn’t have any problem at this wonderful store! I walked in there cheerful (I remember the moment I was walking down the steps at Camera World). I was treated nicely, everyone was wonderful, very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable (they know their stuff). So I’m not sure why some people had such awful experiences at Camera world?
Maybe it’s simply a matter of how you perceive the world which might reflex on you more than them? Just sayin’
