Plenty of mid-range whiskeys. Grill is closed at 11:30 on a Saturday night? Really? Happy to have a bar within a 4 minute walk from my apartment.

I am new to the Brooklyn neighborhood and have only a trio of visits, however the beer selection is a great rotation of local brews. They are categorized by style(dark, malty, hoppy…) so easy to navigate. The whiskey selection is extensive and the bar tenders are very knowledgable. The bar tenders are friendly and remembered me on my second and third visits even remembering my beer choice from before. Always a diverse crowd and there seems to quite a few regulars.

They pour one of the best shots in town and with their whiskey selection I’ll buy that for a dollar

Saw a special on the board for«Haute Chocolate». That sounds good. I should order it. My friend likes it too. Great I’ll order 2 — it is the special after all! So I wait for a few long minutes even though the bar wasn’t that busy(it was a Thursday), and finally(attempt to) place my order with the bartender. She barks at me twice to clarify and then says«You’re not doing yourself any favors by ordering that. It will take a long a time to make». What?

Go there for the Rainier, it’s the best in town. Great whiskey pub. They make a fairly decent Philly cheesesteak. As bar food goes, it’s pretty good stuff. If you don’t like video poker go there because you won’t find that nonsense at BPP. You will find a great place to watch sports, a snazzy jukebox, dart boards, Settlers of Catan, awesome patrons and good, friendly customer service. Cheers! Oh and These Guys food cart resides outback, check them out!

Went here tonight before a show because I saw all the great review, and wow was I let down. This place has terrible customer services. Positives: Clean, good selection of drink, good location. Negatives: Customer service Unknown: Food quality(see below for details) I would have loved to have commented on the food that I ordered, but I walked out before I we got them. After I ordered and paid(with tip added), I waited for 35 min and not a peep from the barmaid. At this point I walked up to her and said, how are we looking on our order? Her reply, «oh, I can start that now — it will be about 15 min.» Wait, what?!? If I had never said anything to her, would I have still been waiting for my food as I type this? After hearing that, I just asked for a refund so I could be on my way, and here is the final kicker… She agreed to the refund, but KEPT the tip! Wow, people are so skeezy some times.

I am literally here every week, usually after a game of futsal. And frankly I look forward to hanging out at the BPP in my sweaty soccer clothes than playing the game itself. The bar is everything a bar should be: cozy, friendly with good selection of beer and whisky. Nicole is my go to bartender — she pretty much knows everyone in the bar and what they’re drinking, hoppy for my friend, half and half for me… And if you’re real nice you may get the special vessel for your libation. Here are the perks for you futsal fiends, free tots for the team and free beer for the MVP. My only complaint is the owner seems to be Coug’s fan, as a Husky I can’t condone such lewd behavior.(But I suppose there are worse crimes.)

It’s the kind of place you wanna go where everybody knows your name. Maybe. If you are a regular and go all the time. It seems like that kind of place to me. I’ve been into Brooklyn Park Pub a couple of times for drinks. Good beer selection. Huge whiskey selection. If you are into whiskey, scotch, and bourbon, check out the whiskey club. If you drink a bunch of booze, you can get a discount on future booze.

The staff is worse than bad. Ok whiskey selection, but bad food and rude staff. Not worth your time.

Friendly staff, good food, good beer and a huge selection of whiskey. Can’t go wrong so far. It definitely is a dive bar but that’s still not going wrong because dive bars tend to have some of the best bar food around. I really like the quality of the fried foods. They seem to keep the oil temp hot, the oil changed often and they don’t have any fish products to it never seems to have the tasted tainted. They also have a great food cart out in back in the pation area in case you want something more varied. I personally really like their $ 6.50 offerings. .. . hamburger & fries/tots, chicken strips & fries/tots or onion rings for $ 1 upgrade. The place is small inside so there is no video poker and only 1 or two video games. Give it a try though. It is approx 3 blocks from the Aladdin Theater so it’s close if you’re going to a concert.

Free team tots if you play futsal! Also, delicious local brews always rotating through the taps so I’ve been able to try something new every week. I give tons of credit to the super friendly bartenders who do a great job dealing with sweaty soccer players on top of keeping the locals happy. There’s a pretty sweet outdoor area with picnic benches, cornhole(the game), and a food cart, too — perfect for the sunnier/warmer days in Portland. Not sure what makes this pub so Brooklyn but I’m happy it’s here in PDX!

People will probably think I over-rate this bar, but they are morons. Yes, I am biased because I used to live crawling distance from this place, but it is everything a neighborhood pub should be. They have an immense whiskey selections. You should join the club. It is the most affordable whiskey education you are likely to get, and the most expensive shirt you are likely ever to buy. The bar staff are mighty friendly, as is the owner, whom you will recognize by the multiple popped collars. I’d recommend ordering the mini corn-dogs, food wise, or the cheesesteak. This isn’t Nobu, it’s a pub. So enjoy the food for what it is, a vehicle for ranch and sopping up whatever is left of your sobriety. You will no doubt stumble home sleepy and drunk.

This unassuming little place has quickly become one of my favorite spots to grab a beer, whiskey, and a bite in SEPDX. I don’t think it would be my first pick on a warm, sunny day in Portland, but for the more traditional grey, rainy evening in the Rose City, it’s perfect! Located right over the Ross Island Bridge(if you’re coming from the deep SW like I am) and just a few blocks south of the Aladdin Theater in the Brooklyn neighborhood, the BPP is basically a single room, including a smallish bar fronted by about eight 4-top tables, and maybe 4 – 5 televisions showing various games(usually muted, but I believe they do have NFL Sunday Ticket package). It’s cozy without being uncomfortably crowded and easy-going without being sleepy. Some of the highlights of the BPP include: –Epic whiskey list and opportunity to sign yourself up for the whiskey club (drink 30 distinct whiskies, including at leaset 5 scotch, 5 bourbon, and 5 rye… no, not in one sitting… the BPP marks your progress and gives you a lifetime $ 1 off discount, plus an official BPP cap… woo!) –Nice selection of beers, all served out of the always-pleasing mason jars… nightly beer specials based on varietal of beer(IPA, pale, pilsner, wheat)…also blue collar favs like Rainier and High Life –Solid, if a bit unspectacular, food that is 100% prepared by the friendly bartenders… so make sure the bar isn’t slammed when you order or you’ll be waiting awhile. –BUT, they often have a tasty food card parked around back that is allowed to serve food inside to drinking patrons… just order out back and resume elbow bending — they find you inside when your order is ready. –Other misc. cool stuff like vintage board games and random groundhog décor Great speakeasy kinda spot that’s always a satisfying.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have have ever visited this place unless I hadn’t moved to the neighborhood. It’s a perfect neighborhood, after-work decompression kind of dive bar, serving up an impressive selection of whiskeys and a decent rotation of beers. The Scotch Ale is my fav. The Groundhog Day theme was fun too, complete with a constant repeat of the 1992 Bill Murray movie, for the entire week surrounding the holiday. If you are in your mid-30’s, you’ll LOVE the juke box. The food is basic, but quick and tasty. Bartenders are all super friendly and attentive.

Whiskey isn’t my poison of choice, so the selection was somewhat limited. I settled on a screwdriver, which was just okay. There were only about 3 vodkas to choose from, and I hadn’t heard of any of them. Plus side: *They have UNO, Rock Em Sock Em Robots, and darts! *Their digital juke box had some fun songs. *Staff has always been friendly and welcoming. I don’t think this pub is for me though.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while now. I had no idea what to expect, all I knew was that they had a whole lot of whiskey. It’s a great little«dive bar» in SE. It wasn’t crowded at all and the bartender there was really nice. They have their regular whiskeys on a menu, and then they have a chalk board with all the specials they have. Then there is the whiskey club, where after consuming 30 shots of whiskey, you have the privilege of ordering from the club list. They keep your club card on file at the bar which is pretty cool. They have a few beers on tap too, but only 1 per style of beer. And the had a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em to play. You can’t really beat that.

They serve drinks in mason jars. I don’t know why I enjoy drinking out of mason jars so damned much, but I do. Small beer selection, great drink specials, and a Whiskey Club that The Bud is slowly working his way through on his way to a free t-shirt and a buck-off-whiskey/bourbon-for-life(or at least until this place changes hands or closes shop). He’ll be happy with just a t-shirt, I’m sure. Can anyone explain the whole groundhog/woodchuck theme they have going on? The doorway and, well, every wall are covered with pictures of these critters, each with talk bubbles where people have written in witticisms, indelicacies, or things that just make you say, «Huh?» What is the story behind the woodchucks? They have a decent jukebox, darts, hightop tables, and sports on several televisions. It’s a great neighborhood hangout — with mason jars!
