I couldn’t believe how many pieces I found here! I expected to pick up a rug or two — I bought five, a new kitchen table, chairs and a side board. Frank knows everything about each rug — where it was made, how to clean it, everything. And, the prices were better than I expected — considering the quality and beauty.

I loved buying from Frank and Bloomsbury. What a successful and fun experience. I have been looking for a specific table for a long time and found just the one I wanted, as well as, picking up one other item– a gorgeous little pine cabinet. Frank, Hank and Ann were all extremely helpful and I know if I have a specific item I’m looking for in the future, they may just have it or be able to find it. Their warehouses are packed with other goodies so don’t be afraid to tell them what you have in mind or like. I spotted several other items I could easily have purchased which is rare for me. I like the variety they have and European pieces.

Don’t be deceived by the name — this is not your average ‘antiques and curiosities’ store packed with old odds and ends and the occasional ‘find.’ Everything here is a find! Frank at Bloomsbury is the real deal. This guy has been in the business his entire life and really knows his stuff. We have visited every store in Portland looking for midcentury items to outfit our new empty home and then we found Frank. He generously showed us his two warehouses — wow! So many beautiful pieces and he gave us our time to peruse. He is very knowledgable but not pretentious, same with his helpful staff. His inventory and service are unrivalled. There are many wonderful store-owners in town(this is not meant to dig on them), but Frank seems to be the epicenter for antiques and midcentury in Portland. We will be shopping with Frank for years to come, outfitting our home with special items that will last another lifetime.

With so many flocking to current trends these days, I kinda want to keep this true to the trade gem-of-a-place all to myself and leave the IKEA-minded and Steampunked Industrialists in the dark but alas– alack, I can’t buy it all so DO get in there and learn a thing or two about real antiques at completely fair prices from a completely friendly staff(especially Andra!!). The pieces I’ve found there will follow me through my life and hopefully onto family whereas everything I’ve ever found at those other big box stores are either broken or destined for the next yard sale. Grab some coffee one block to the left or right then head in for a great browse, a great chat and probably a great find. Shhhhh —

Mostly old furniture but there’s a few other items scattered around. It’s not a very big place but it’s packed with stuff. Bring your wallet too because nothing is cheap

I have visited this store several times and bought some great mid century pieces from Frank Coates. He went out of his way to meet me at his warehouses and was very patient as I shopped. I can’t say enough good things about the service I received from their employees in the store to the people who delivered our furniture. It is a fun experience to go to their warehouses and I look forward to returning to buy more furniture from this first class store. I’m so happy I found this true treasure in Portland!

I am a local interior designer. I am very loyal to local sources. I purchased coffee table from this business in 2012. I was promised, in writing, a certificate of authenticity. After many phone calls and a letter I still have not received it. I will not shop there again, very disappointing.
