Bella Flora Studio

A friend just re-​introduced me to Bella Flora, I had stopped in once when she was up on Fremont, and hadn’t realized that the shop had moved even closer to me since. Absolutely magical! Elaine has vintage clothing items that you dream about, but suspect don’t really exist. I picked up a pair of Edwardian embroidered silk stockings in wearable condition (and a reasonable size). I also discovered extraordinary hat trims and velvet coats and then there are Elaine’s own creations, fairy furniture fabricated of twigs and bits of silk and pearly sea shells. She just has an amazing eye. One of my favorite moments was spotting an etherial exploding milkweed pod lovingly displayed under an antique glass dome. I have no words for the magical quality of my visit. I can’t wait to return soon.

Elaine Falbo is the Queen Of the Faeries & her magic is in evidence in this gem of a store front. You never what wonders you’ll find. Faerie furniture (furNATURE!), beautiful pussy wiilow baskets or antique clothing. Charming odds & sods. None more charming than Elaine herself. Her floral confections are equally beautiful & whimsical with an eye & appreciation for nature that only faeries possess.
