I had the Cioppini it was excellent. Paired with a 23 oz nitro red. The bartender was friendly and helpful. This wasn’t just good airport food and a good airport service. This was great food and service in spite of the fact that it was in an airport.

Stopped here for a meal before a flight and was pleasantly surprised. Our meal was definitely higher than the usual airport fare. I had the Beach House Salad and it was so good, I plan on remaking it at home. My mother had the fish & chips which had a perfect coating on them. Service was a little slow but we had ample time before our flight so it didn’t become a problem. It even had a fire pit and beach chair seating which would be great for groups.

Got to the airport a little early sine our flight left at dinner time. Picked Beaches and we were not disappointed. It was great! Everyone that was working today were super friendly. Ashleigh, our server, was great. Took our order right away. The food didn’t take very long at all. I ordered the slider duo. It was very good. A juicy burger and a flavorful pulled pork sandwich. My daughter got the French toast off the kids menu. Can’t go wrong with French toast! My son got the chicken twisters(fingers) and fries. They were a little overdone, but our server took care of it right away with new ones, and the manager came over to apologize and let us know new ones were on their way shortly. Kids meals get a toy from the toy chest and ice cream! My daughter wasn’t too thrilled with the ice cream, so she was offered caramel popcorn! Yum! If you are in PDX, come here!

Delicious oyster shooters. Awesome sushi rolls. Wide liquor selection. Fast service, hot food. The bartender Brian was a life savor. I was sitting next to a guy that was being a totally jerk and trying to talk about race issues. Brian stepped in and shut it down quick! Thank you Brian. Mad respect! I’ll be back.

This place is conveniently located inside the airport so if you need a quick bite, I recommend this place. They have the restaurant side which reminds of of Islands burger surf theme and there’s also a café side. All the food is very affordable. I really liked the breakfast bowl! it’s a perfect bowl with loaded breakfast items. the crème brûlée french toast was great as well.

Love the décor and atmosphere. Food is surprisingly great and not what I expected in an airport. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Karina was super friendly. We ordered the spicy tuna crunch roll and the roasted chicken taquitos and they were both excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to grab a quick bite to eat before a flight. Almost forgot. .. You MUST try the caramel popcorn! So good!

Best restaurant experience in forever. I have made it a point to leave a review everywhere because I was blown away! Every single staff member was above and beyond friendly. They all went out of their way to make a simple lunch amazing! The food was outstanding and the staff was even better, would literally go out of my way to go back to an airport restaurant!

This is pretty much one of the only places to get a drink at the Portland Airport. At least, its the cheapest. Its right by the security lines so it was convenient. I only ordered a sunrise mimosa. It didn’t tasted bad, actually it was pretty good but… it also didn’t taste like there was any champagne in it. For $ 7, I expect a bit more of a kick. The service was also a bit slow but it was busy(again, no other bars really). Servers were nice.

Elijiah at Beaches was fantastic! He made our family dinner such an awesome experience. As always, the food was prepared perfectly, including an amazing Sweet-Hot margarita… a must try! We always love the food here, but Elijiah is who made this night extra special… he spoke to each of us by name(and nickname!) and even made a family portrait for us to take home. Where do you get an experience like this!!! Thanks, Eeeeee(Elijiah’s new nickname) and thanks Beaches… we’ll be back again and again.

I have weird parents. Most people will say to that, «don’t we all?» Well yes, but trust me, some of us are on the other side of that bell curve. Exhibit A: we went to some off-label«you will burn in hell church» as a child. No celebrating any normal holidays, our fucked up church was kind of like the weird-cousin church of the 7th Day Adventists. Sorry, to offend if you are 7th Day Adventist. If you are, you should stop reading this review and go pray for my soul. Thanks. Exhibit B: my weird, non-Mormon family that does not celebrate any normal Christianish holidays, up and moved from the awesome DC area, to the smallest Mormon town available. The funny thing is, my parents had an expectation that we would fit in and turn out normal. Adam’s family, meet the Joseph Smith family. Exhibit C: We had«Christmas» lunch at the Beaches restaurant at the Portland Airport. Because we don’t celebrate Christmas, times like Christmas, Thanksgiving and birthdays are really the only time we get together. But c’mon, at the Portland fucking airport? My parents, namely my dad, loves the Beaches on the Washington side and has gone there forever. He is super picky, hates almost everything and is one of those hard to please people that must know the Multhomah County Health Inspection Score of any restaurant before he will visit. So naturally, Beaches in the airport must be terrific too, right? Well, it was, in a word, mediocre… at best. I am pissed off that I had to go to a weird church as a child, grew up in the north 40 of fricking Utah, and that I had to spend $ 6.00 to park at PDX for a mediocre lunch on Christmas. Thanks to all of the above, my therapist will never go hungry and if she ever is hungry, I hope she doesn’t go to Beaches at PDX. 2015 — Review # 93

My husband and I were at the airport and waiting for our daughter to fly in and needed some coffee and breakfast so decided to give this place a try, I am SO glad we did. Not only is the food amazing, I had the French Toast combo and he had the meat lovers omelet, but the service is just as good if not better! I have no idea why anyone would rate this under 4 stars, but it could be hard to post correctly when you’re distracted by the stick up your butt I guess lol Anyway, long story short you will not be disappointed! Thank you Eric, Michael, and Karina!

(Recent as 11−21−15) Well, the Beach Shack has improved only a small bit since my last update. It’s unfortunate, really, because the manager is going above and beyond to make things right. The chicken twisters have been largely inconsistent, ranging from being done a little well to completely burnt. The chicken is bland and oily still, but the barbeque sauce is amazing. Every batch is a surprise and I love it. I haven’t had their fish since the last time. The sushi is reasonable but not award winning. The service is awesome(better than before) and super friendly. However, I have a major gripe about the burgers. Nearly every time I’ve ordered one, its been undercooked. I dismissed the first time, huge mistake. I got sick later in the evening. The second time was okay. The most recent time(not today), it was seriously undercooked. It bled through the bun resulting in it falling apart. It was pink in the middle and kinda cooked overall. It also came out in record time. Not good. Again, the manager made it right and gave me a full basket of fries. So. Yeah. I continue to come back because I love the staff. The food needs work. Quality and consistency are two gripes I have. Five stars for the staff, two and ¾ for the food.

Now I’m a little biased because I work at PDX. I spread the love around to several places that I go for lunches at the PDX terminal. Everyone knows the Dutch bro’s kids that are jacked on coffee, but waaay excited to serve, I would liken the«beach brats»(affectionately) to them. They’re always friendly, efficient, and seriously happy to help you out. The food is really good. From sushi, to pulled pork and burgers you can’t go wrong. The biscuits and gravy are on my short list of favorite breakfast fare. The sushi is a staple for my lunch grub. If you call ten minutes ahead of arrival it’s pretty much always ready and waiting. I use the Beach Shack side of the place, but no doubt the full service side is just as great. Beaches deserves to be, and surely is part of what makes PDX«Americas best airport» for three years running. Great job folks!

I’m like to raise an eyebrow when my server struts up with a nametag boastin’ a number in it, like K8lynne, but homegirl held it down. She also rocked a slambook(remember them joints from middle school?!!) in the back of her little order pad so you could leave comments or drawings. Gave it the ol’ flip-through and enjoyed. Didn’t think a hash from an airport could be that enjoyable. Super good. All that an’ they support soldiers like what, which I can def get behind. Other homegirls were handlin’ their tables legit, always hollerin’ out at folks comin’ and goin’, but not in that obnoxious way like, «Welcome to MOE’s!», but, like, authentic thank yous and hellos. Get’cha seff set fo’ that flight. That’s what’s up.

Stopped in during a short layover for breakfast. Waitress was awesome. Ordered the Salmon egg skillet and it was amazing! I could not eat it all as it was very filling! When in Portland, check this place out!

Beaches is a very friendly, casual, gimmicky restaurant. Our server was very nice as was the manager. They were sure to ask us if we had a flight and when it would be. We were picking up at the time but I am sure the patrons enjoy being asked just in case they are flying out. We had a child with us so the manager placed us next to the windows and huge mural providing plenty to look at. I thought that was pretty awesome of him. Down to the food. We were there for breakfast. We had the French Toast Combo, the Grilled Salmon Skillet, and a kids Pepperoni Pizza. First off, our server was so nice as to check with the kitchen if they could do a lunch pizza early for the kiddo because he had his heart set on one. They did and it ended up coming out first, piping hot and super cheesy. It was just his style and I give extra points for a server that goes out of their way to make a patron happy, child or not. The French Toast was very, very good. It was thick cut and slightly sweet but not overly so. It had a perfect balance of textures and was plated with plenty of butter and syrup. I was amazed to find such good French toast at a airport of all places. This was a massive portion of French toast, eggs and bacon(eggs and bacon very good too). The Grilled Salmon skillet was okay. The salmon was good and I liked the dill cream cheese that it was plated with. It seemed the eggs were a bit greasy but I loved the large amount of savory and salty capers that flecked the dish. The portion of salmon was good for a breakfast but I do not think I would get it again. I will however make sure to always stop for the French toast when I am at PDX before eleven AM. When we left the server made sure to let the kiddo pick out a toy from the treasure toy chest and give us a bag of caramel corn. The delicious French toast and great costumer service nailed me down on Beaches at PDX, enough for a extra star.

This is a favorite of my hubby’s and mine. The food is solid, nothing out of the ordinary mind you, but good, and let’s face it – the setting really makes the restaurant. You’re in the airport and there really is no other food around. Their Vancouver location is also marvelous, setting right on the water! Breakfast is great – try the bacon sampler. MmMmMMMmm. You could take THAT home as a gift!

In an airport! Pretty good eats even if it’s in a airport. Grabbed a bite before our flight and was pleasantly surprised. Well made favorites, nothing fancy just good simple stuff. Washed down with a cold beer… good ta go!
