Batteries Plus Bulbs

You might want to do a quick read about what you are going to get before you actually enter. I’ve been given iffy answers twice at this place regarding light bulb spectrums.

I love my car clicker. I run a million errands a day and being able to carry three bags of groceries and still open my trunk with my thumb as I walk towards the car just makes my life a little easier. When the battery died in my clicker, the whole feng shui of my life just tilted. My car can only be unlocked on the driver’s side, so just trying to place my parking meter receipt in the passenger window and then lock the car just made me cranky. I tried to replace the battery myself because how hard could it be? After struggling to open the case and almost breaking it, I understand why the car companies charge over $ 200 to replace the fob — because they can! I went to Batteries Plus to see what they could do and they were amazing! Not only did they get the pesky clicker case open, they superglued the little piece I had broken off in my amateurish attempts to do it myself. New battery in, tested, and it was so inexpensive. Plus, they were just really nice people. I was so happy to have my clicker back that I told others and one of my clients went in a few days later after I did and is now clicking her locks joyfully! Thanks, Batteries Plus! Great customer service!!!

Went in to get my iPhone battery replaced after finding online sales and coupons. The store didn’t automatically charge the sale price, but the guy that helped me looked it up to confirm the discounts and gave them to me no problem. The three guys that were working while I was there were all very nice and polite, not pushy or anything. It was done in less than an hour and my phone battery has been working perfectly since.

So as far as I am concerned, our first ever experience with Batteries Plus on 82^nd will be our last! Me and My Fiancée went in in hops that she would be able to get a new battery for her Motorola Razor phone (It was a internal battery type). We went in and the gentleman was very quick and responsive on helping us with finding if they could fix it, they had it in stock and were also able to fix it for a fee of $ 20 (plus $ 39.99 for the battery itself). We waited about 25 minutes while he «fixed» the battery and worked on it. If your waiting that long, bring your own chair, no accomodations of any sort while you wait, that wasnt a biggy whatsoever! In the paperwork process of it all, he states «If the battery that is put in while being repaired by them does not work or malfunctions, they will replace your phone with a refurbished one blah blah. We felt satisfied upon leaving there that day and the phone seemed to work for that period of 12 hours. The next day, my fiancée informed me after work and her having it off all day, being that she as working, that her phone wouldn’t turn on at all! I tried a few times, and it would not turn on. Okay, so she called, and explained to the «tech» what was happening and they informed her to come in again but the next day cause in his words «the tech just went home for the day, but that she could leave her phone there for the night and they will take a look at it first thing in the morning. When she went back the next day, they explained to her that they were using a smaller battery in the phone and the connection disconnected (go figure since its not the same size as the size it should be). They again, «fixed» it and she went on her way. The very next day as she got off of work and turned her phone on, it wouldn’t turn on again, at all. Now that the frustration had kicked in, she called again, annoyed of course and was told on the phone that she would need to get there before 5 cause that is when the tech goes home. Now, her 3^rd time back there, she got there after 5 having just got off of work and fighting through rush hour traffic, finally reaching there, one of the techs stated «I asked if you could get here by 5»??? REALLY??? As she walks in for her 3^rd time there!!! Finally, they stated there was nothing they could do and she demanded her refund, which they obliged! All in all, experience; no good, and the inconvenience of it all was terrible!!! I’m not saying they needed to make her phone magically brand new with there services, but when they said they could service it and fix it and for 59.99, we didn’t expect them to fix it wrong and sloppy. Won’t be returning, and wouldn’t suggest having a cell phone fixed through them!

I went in to Batteries Plus today after visiting their website to check if they had what I needed.
They have so many things in stock including what I was looking for.
Unfortunatly I was looking or a phone battery because I thought that was why my phone wasn’t working. It turns out my phone is broken and it is not the battery. The man that helped me checked the voltage of my current battery to make sure of this. He even looked up the location of the nearest phone store for me since I couldn’t use my dead phone to do it!
He went out of his way to help me even after he knew I what I needed wasn’t at his store.
The other staff member was taking the time to help an older gentleman understand how to replace the battery in his phone and not talking down to him like most staff at other places do when people don’t understand electronics.
The store was well organized and clean. The prices seemed reasonable and I heard them mention warranties on many of their items. The next time I need anything that they carry I will be going there. I highly recommend them.

Today was my fourth visit to this store on 82^nd Avenue and I am pleased that once again, I received excellent service. Every time I have been in this store the staff has been friendly and extremely helpful. Their prices are competitive and they also offer services like changing your watch batteries and recycling old batteries and light bulbs. Love that!

I’m a fan because sometimes you have to dance with the Devil to find what you need. Batteries Plus is known for being spendy, but they often have what is needed.
In my case, that was true. I needed an external smartphone battery charger because the micro usp on my Samsung G3 went bad after a year and a half us use. Online I had discovered that this was a flaw in the phone, and that for under $ 7 plus shipping, I could order an external battery charger just for the battery I had in my phone.
The staff was helpful with a dry sense of humor, which was a bit to take at first. But they did have a universal battery charger that would work, at $ 25. I asked how much an additional battery would cost and was told that it was $ 39.99 but bought with the charger it was $ 10 off. Way to push sales, right?! I opted out of the add-​on because I knew I would be able to buy online for a lot less and because I was half a year from getting an upgrade phone.
The universal charger will work on all sorts of flat batteries. Despite reading the instructions over, it is a little awkward to use, but it has been working to charge me smartphone’s battery.
Would I be back? Yes, if I need a specialty item in a hurry, sure.

At one time, my watch was the only thing that needed a battery, and there were plenty of places to get them replaced — department stores had jewelers that would do more than sell you a box with a new watch in it, there were jewelers every few blocks downtown, and big box retailers actually had service at their watch counters. Batteries plus bulbs fills a niche, as the need for batteries has expanded into everything else that is now carried in a pocket /​purse… car keys, phones, tablets, phablets, etc…
I have received great service in multiple Batteries Plus Bulbs locations — in one instance, they tested a huge battery from my sister’s Verizon fiber optic hub, looked up a service recommendation, and told me how to reboot/​reset the hub — the problem was with Verizon’s equipment, not the battery. This was information that was certainly not forthcoming from Verizon. It’s nice finding that someone is still providing customer service these days.

Lots of batteries and bulbs. Staff sort of suck. Non attentive to customers. Lack informed opinions, As in they no little more than is printed on the box. They don’t value young customers.
My son stood at the counter to purchase batteries and was literally ignored until i stepped in. He and i have decided not to go back for a while. I shall buy my rv battery from walmart. I shall purchase my fancy light bulbs from home depot. At least with those two i have no expectation of decent treatment so i wont be disappointed. If they don’t value my sons 8.10 why should i give them my 217.00?

I walk in and ask if they change watch batteries.
«Sure. It’ll take about four or five minutes, though.»
Well, crud. I think I can handle that. I had time to look at their small but interesting selection of tools and stuff. They had a (I poop you not) a Swiss army flashlight and a «bat light» that helpfully informed prospective buyers it was impact resistant. Hmmm.
They also have a good selection of fluorescent lamps, compact and tube, as well as ballasts. Awesome.
