Well appointed, small space — this private event room is only open for brunch on the weekends. Menu is small, but well-rounded. Most egg dishes are accompanied by a perfectly dressed pile of field greens which i have come to enjoy with breakfast. My spinach Benedict was quite good although the hollandaise was missing that nice lemon bite the spinach needed. The biscuit is was served on was substantial and overall the plate was perfectly proportioned… unlike the popular gut-bomb quantites so often seen. My dining companion was enjoying the Croque Madame which was very tasty with its shaved ham, swiss and bechamel. We split a house made pop-tart which ill fall into line with other reviewers and go nuts for. The flavor(which changes) was«s’more» today and really a delicious treat. Final word is bacon — this is what pushed this to a 4 star rating. 3 strips in the side, but OMG what wondrous salty deliciousness. They said it was Carlton Farms which would make sense, so glad i got it.

Love, love, loved every bite full of the corn-beef hash. Came here on a Sunday at noon and the service was prompt and excellent. The food delicious, and the noise level quiet enough to be able to carry on a conversation.

Simple and yummy! The toast is porch step size and a great complement to the greens and everything else. The homemade pop tarts are what’s up, too.

Start with a very good Bloody Mary or morning after beverage. Trout hash with root veggies — amazing! Add in some of carrot habanero sauce to kick it up! The Benedict over greens is high recommend also.

My partner and I shared the Spinach Benedict with crispy potatoes and a side of bacon… we started our meal though with the Blackberry Pop-Tart. OMG, delicious! I don’t like super sweet things in the morning and this tart was perfectly sweetened for us. We enjoyed the atmosphere, food, coffee and the wait staff was super nice and welcoming. We can’t wait to go back and bring some friends and family!

We came around noon. No wait. The service was really friendly. The food took a while, which wasn’t a big deal to us. We both had the Eggs Blackstone. The hollandaise had a pretty good consistency but wasn’t that flavorful. The eggs were a bit runny for my taste. The potatoes were unremarkable and slightly undercooked(typical for Portland.) The bacon was very crispy(people like bacon so many different ways, it’s impossible to grade on, but I wasn’t a fan. My wife liked it.) Over all, breakfast was good, but not amazing. If 5 is «best ever» and 4 is a good, solid, every weekend choice, I have to go with a 3. Really great service, though.

Loved this place! Ended up ordering a second round of poptarts — those things are crack. Drinks and savers brunch items were also stellar, but I just can’t get those pop tarts off my mind.

After dropping someone off at the airport Sunday morning(12÷20÷15) I did a search for a new place to grab some brunch since it was about 11:30am. I came across the«Bad Habit Room» and the reviews were very good… and for good reason! It’s a smaller establishment so there could be a bit of a wait. Fortunately for us we hit the timing of things perfectly and our wait was not more than 10 minutes. Probably one of the 5 best brunch places I’ve ever had! Prices are very reasonable, the service is outstanding and the food was absolutely excellent!(They also serve a local coffee that was very, very good). Even though the place had all their tables filled and a minimal number of staff to wait on tables… the wait for our food was less time than expected. We split one of their homemade poptarts… my wife had their French toast and I enjoyed their take on eggs benedict with their Eggs Blackstone… everything we had was wonderful!(Housemade biscuits, housemade blackberry jam that has a wonderful blackberry taste vs being too sweet and their housemade carrot and habanero sauce… which was good… but lacked the heat I prefer and was slightly bland needing a bit more salt… but that’s my only complaint about our time there). And to top everything off… as a long time Green Bay Packers fan… this yet another«Packers» gathering location during football season. Next door the same owners also have a wonderful beer bar and bottleshop worth visiting. Not only will we be back(and happy to make the drive from Beaverton) but I’m going to look for reasons to host a private client event here at some point.

My wife and I were headed to North Star Ballroom for a craft show and wanted to grab some food beforehand. Not having many excuses to check out the North side of town, we were pretty happy to see a highly rated place just down the street from our destination. Strangely enough, we were the first people at the door at 9 am on a Sunday. That could only mean one of two things: Too early for most Sunday Brunch-ers or it really isn’t worthy of it’s stars. Regardless, in this town, it’s just nice not to wait in line for breakfast. We were not disappointed. The service from the start was very welcoming. Bacon perfumed the air of the quaint brick and stained wood room. The décor is great, a little old west kitch, but nothing over the top. The server gave us a quick run down of specials and as soon as I heard the cinnamon roll, I quickly ordered one with our coffees while we perused the menu. The menu has plenty going on and almost all of it looked great. Sometimes you just go to a place where it’s hard to choose. I had the house smoked pork with poached eggs, greens, and a biscuit. I was happy enough with my food that I didn’t even notice what my wife had! All in all a really pleasant experience to start the day. The only small negative was that the cinnamon roll that sounded so good took too long to arrive and was a little overdone. Other than that I wish A) that we lived closer, and B) that we were there when the Pack beat Dallas later in the day!

Fantastic Bloody Mary. Perhaps one of the best in town. The highlight of the menu is their housemade poptart, my favorite I’ve had in a restaurant. The food isn’t necessarily mind-blowing, but it’s solid. The trout hash is the best thing we’ve had there of the entrees. The service… Hit or miss. This last time we waited 45 minutes for our food from the time we ordered. WTF?! And to top it off, no apology or acknowledgment from our server. And it’s not a large restaurant either so I don’t know what was going on there. While we had zero wait for a table(a rarity for a decent brunch in Portland), the awesomeness of that was diminished while watching the table who got seated 5 minutes after us and ordered after we did get their meal, finish, and pay their check all before we got our food. Stellar.

Delicious and unique food! Great service, easy street parking and outdoor seating. The ambience of this joint is perfect. Brick walls, cool chandeliers, well appointed furnishings and big windows that let the light in. I had the Eggs black stone, so good. The Portions are small, but plenty filling. Coffee is $ 3.50(with free refills) which I think is a bit steep, but not a deal breaker.

SETTHESCENE: It’s Sunday(obvs). You’re hungover(double obvs). What’s more appropriate than some hair of the dog and some benedict to get you through your afternoon? Enter: the Bad Habit Room in NoPo. My friend and I came in and were pleasantly surprised to get seated right away(I’ll be damned if I’m waiting 2 hours for some damn chicken and waffles). I ordered a coffee and a bloody to start, because, as we know — bitches love beverages. The bloody was awesome! Could have been a meal on it’s own, but then i saw the Eggs Blackstone(Poached eggs, bacon, roasted tomato & truffle jam, and hollandaise on SugarPimp’s beer bread. Served with breakfast potatoes and fresh greens) and I was like, OK, any bread that’s called ‘SugarPimp’ is OK in my book. Also — TRUFFLEJAM?! Yeah, that’s happening. It was seriously one of the most delicious breakfasts I’ve had in a long time, and there was no wait. NOWAIT! Actually, maybe I shouldn’t write this post. What’s not to love about this place. It’s small and we shared a table but hardly noticed. We had the brunch: 1. Pop tarts– the pastry was so delicious, nothing like the pop tarts from the cardboard box 2. Corned Beef — Interesting. Lot of flavor. Beer bread was tough but the jam was good. It had such a random mixture of flavors. The meat was chewy but the hash was sweet. Definitely a different experience. I really liked their homemade hot sauce based of carrots. It was sweet but spicy. Gave everything a great kick.

There’s nothing bad about Bad Habit Room… except that it may or may not induce an intense bout of food coma! A few quick things: — brunch is only open on Saturday & Sunday from 9am-2pm — it’s a pretty small establishment so prepare for a short wait — come early(if possible) since they might run out of items on the menu. When we came around noon, they were already out of their pop tarts, French toast, and the weekend special. But we weren’t concerned since there was plenty left to try! I ordered the Eggs Blackstone(beer bread with tomato and truffle jam topped with 2 poached eggs, bacon, and hollandaise with crispy breakfast potatoes and greens as sides). Even though it’s been almost a week since I’ve been here… just writing this makes me hungry already(ahhh!). Every bite was incredibly tasty and flavorful and the serving size was perfect — I was able to finish everything without feeling over stuffed. My fiancé ordered the smoked trout hash(house smoked trout with arugua, potato, sweet onion, and root veggie mash-up — topped with two poached eggs with a side of beer bread and preserves). Even though I was in love with my dish, I tried a few bites of the latter dish and thought it was really good as well. The mix of smoked trout with eggs and veggies was an unexpectedly delicious medley that makes you go back for more bites! Overall, I was really glad that we were able to squeeze in the time to check out Bad Habit Room for their weekend brunch. I really recommend it. Delicious food, friendly customer service, and a chill/comfortable ambiance lead to one memorable brunch!

OMG, just the thought of the corned beef benedict has me(bubble over my head) mmm, mmmm, mmmmmmmmmmm! This is where I had that«Harry Met Sally» moment. Okay, maybe not quite to that extent but I couldn’t stop savoring each and every bite without smiling and practically making a comment. I wanted those moments to last forevvves. Okay.Review to Be Continued… I’m having those moments just thinking about it. I still have to tell you about that amazing bloody mary… Oh my…

Homemade pop tarts AND packer games projected onto a ginormous wall?! Sign me up! No one can deny that pop tarts are chocked full of unhealthy junk and sugar, but when they’re homemade — there’s really no excuse to not indulge in one. They are freaking amazing with a cup of coffee as an appetizer before the rest of your delicious brunch here of course! I only wish their space was a bit larger as to accommodate more people during the Sunday packer games, but I suppose that’s what gives it the small Portland bar feel.

wow! I am super happy I stumbled upon this place a few weeks back –all the while trying to navigate my way to a sad burrito shop. Ahh. Bad Habit Room, your name speaks to me, it says all those things people say about me but never ever want to admit. you’re like the cool step mother that gives my ten year old self donuts for breakfast and little happy sips of alcohol to keep me quiet, let’s just say I am easy to bribe with food and that is how Bad Habit Room fits in my life right now, it is everything guilty that I’ve dreamed up for a brunch spot. set up:] small. yeah. she’s a little spot but that is okay with me. I only intend to roll out of bed absolutely disheveled with my newest husband, fill up my gut and head back to food induced coma dreamland. seating; there’s a few larger tables aligned with booth seating to the left of walking in, and a few tables that can be arranged to fit larger parties. the exposed brick ambiance of this place is reminiscent of an old irish pub but I don’t care garçon bring me an other mimosa! the food:] so let’s be honest, I didn’t come in for some amazing beer bread, or perfectly poached egg, I came in for a homemade POPTART, however to be fair I did wind up finding previous listed items to be as I just described, amazing beer bread covered in perfectly poached eggs. so the holy grail of breakfast foods, that POPTART — these in house made flakey squares with gooey guts change often, during my visit they were offering nutella and raspberry filled happy rectangles. We all ordered a mix of the Egg’s Blackstone, and the Corned Beef Hash, everything about both plates were absolute perfection. my eggs were poached the right amount, the holliendaise sauce has just the exact amount of tangy and the hash wasn’t over salted, it was just right! honorable mention:] located off on a side road between some housing is and can be available free street parking. best place for people with a packer’s problem(football) a nice array of adult cocktails outside café seating on those warmer sunny days we all love!

I wanted to find a fun new place to take some out of town visitors. I’m glad we decided to try the Bad Habit Room. Not only did it surpass my expectations, but my guests from Chicago were also very happy with everything. I will for sure be adding this place to my list of acceptable weekend brunch places. This place is a bit on the small side so it may be a bummer if it becomes super popular. I can just imagine the wait time would be awful. Luckily we didn’t have to wait at all for a table even though we had a party of five. I’m not really a fan of sweets or I would have ordered the house made pop-tart. I ended up ordering the Spinach Benedict and damn was it good! They seem to serve poached eggs with almost every breakfast option, this being great news to me as I LOVE poached eggs! I often find myself judging an establishment based on how well they can poach an egg. It never fails to break my heart when I bust open a poached egg and nothing oozes out. I can proudly say my poached eggs at the Bad Habit Room did not disappoint; they were perfectly poached. The spinach, egg, and hollandaise sauce were on top of what they called«beer bread». I’s never had beer bread before, but it was fantastic for soaking up delicious hollandaise and egg yolk. My meal also came with breakfast potatoes and greens. The greens being a side salad that was actually much tastier than I was expecting. I couldn’t help but notice the selection of tasty brunch adult beverages. Next time I find myself here I will absolutely be sampling their bloody mary. This morning I just had a coffee as I was with the in-laws and it was not an alcoholic kind of brunch outing.

Portland… you sexy little oasis of all things food, booze, and lumbersexuals. Just when I thought you couldn’t impress this little LA lass more than you already had, Bad Habit Room shines like a beacon of light from the brunch Gods as the ROTD on the Unilocal Portland home page while I’m visiting and I immediately make waves to force this onto my weekend itinerary, even if it means getting up early or waiting in line(which ended up requiring neither). This awesome little event space on a cherry blossom lined street couldn’t be more charming. If you live in Portland, definitely put this on the top of your list for special occasion/private party options or check their events calendar for public shenanigans being held every once in awhile that you can get in on and 100% get there for brunch on Saturday or Sunday. If you’re a Packers fan living in Portland, you’re in for a real treat, as apparently during football season, it’s THE spot to be. I admittedly was drawn in by that glorious looking homemade pop tart on their home page. On our visit, it was a Nutella/raspberry blend. It was heated up just a smidgeon and was a poppin’ start to the brunch. There were also mimosas… a fair amount, but respectable enough to keep us from going bottomless, though they indeed were. They were constantly filled without having to ask and a great ratio of fresh-squeezed OJ to ‘pagne. The ‘pagne didn’t seem like the cheap stuff, but even if it had been, I would have been none the wiser since I was so smitten with the ladies serving us. They were so… dare I say it? Enchanting! Super sweet, cordial, and made us feel right at home. The music selection was also beating to the perfect brunch drum. Instead of getting two entrees, since we were trying to concentrate more on our liquid intake, we split the Corned Beef Hash with that beer bread. Eggs were poached to perfection. Corned beef hash flavor was dynamite. Hash was cubed, hearty potatoes. Mash it all up and scoop that insane beer bread in and you have just experienced brunch nirvana. No reservations, however I never noticed a wait on a Sunday(we arrived shortly after they opened), but they were full the entire 6 or 8 or 10 mimosas deep time we were there, so let that be a fair warning.
